In the news:

Barak: IDF doesn't heed empty calls for cease fires

Defense Minister Ehud Barak said the IDF does not pay attention to empty calls for cease fires from various terrorist groups, in an interview on Monday with Army Radio. If they want a cease fire, Islamic Jihad and Hamas will need to actually stop their attacks, he explained. He added that Israel holds Hamas accountable for all rocket fire from Gaza.

Addressing the Iranian nuclear program, Barak said, "We have no reason to fear anything" as Israel is the strongest country in the Middle East.

Still, Iran is a central threat to Israel and the international community and needs to be treated as such.

"Israel doesn't have to allow a nuclear Iran, the world doesn't have to allow a nuclear Iran," he insisted, saying that all all options for dealing with the Iranian threat should be on the table.

And that last quote leads to these articles:

More Signs Israel Preparing to Launch Attack - Possibly Against Iran

A U.S. intelligence source has told G2Bulletin there are more indicators Israel is preparing to launch an attack – possibly against Iran. And if it does, it may be looking at how to undertake a multi-front strategy that would include an assault against Hezbollah in Lebanon, Hamas in the Gaza Strip or even Syria

Separate sources suggest that Syria would welcome such an attack to divert attention from its own internal violent demonstrations against the regime of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.

The latest indications and warnings, or I&W, come two weeks following G2Bulletin's initial report that the Pentagon was watching for a long-anticipated Israeli attack on Iran's nuclear sites.

He said that U.S. analysts were concerned that an attack could be "imminent." The intelligence source said there was a "green light" for the Israelis "to do a strike," although it wasn't clear whether that green light is coming from within the Israeli political and military command structure, or from the U.S. government.

The source now reports further I&W to include unusual helicopter traffic at one of the Israeli training bases.

The source reports that the traffic involves some 20 utility helicopters and three attack helicopters.

U.S. fears unilateral Israeli strike on Iran

A senior US State Department official said there is growing fear among Obama administration officials ahead of an IAEA report indicating considerable progress in Tehran's development of its military nuclear program which is set to be published in November.

The US is concerned that the report may trigger Israeli actions against the Islamic Republic which may not necessarily be in line with US interests in the region.

The official said that Washington's reevaluation of an Israeli strike in Iran is based on various maneuvers Israel has performed in the past few years.

Last week, it was reported that many Israelis are concerned that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Ehud Barak decided on an attack on Iran's nuclear reactors. The US is naturally also concerned over such plans which may send the entire region into a whirlwind.

Christian Author Joel Rosenberg: We May See "More Bible Prophecies In The Near Future"

“The world is on the brink of disaster and the clock is ticking. Iran has just conducted its first atomic weapons test. Millions of Muslims around the world are convinced their messiah—known as ‘the Twelfth Imam’—has just arrived on earth. Israeli leaders fear Tehran, under the Twelfth Imam’s spell, will soon launch a nuclear attack that could bring about a second holocaust and the annihilation of Israel.

“Faith, to me, is the lens through which I’m watching all these dramatic and tumultuous events — particularly in the Middle East and North Africa,” he said. ”The idea that Russia, Iran, Libya, Sudan and Turkey…end up forming an alliance in the last days to surround, isolate and attack Israel — that type of alliance has never existed in more than 2,500 years, but its happening now.”

But it is this first nation — Iran — that Rosenberg sees as a major threat to both the United States and Israel. “The biggest danger we face as americans right now is that Washington will miscalculate with regards to Iran — that Washington will wait to long to neutralize the Iranian threat,” he explained.

But, unlike the Christian understanding of the end days, he asserts that Iran’s government is driven by the idea that they need to hasten the second coming of the Twelfth Imam — a messiah of sorts (read more about Shia Islamic eschatology, including this Imam, here). Rosenberg says that Iran‘s leaders believe that annihilating Israel and the United States may help hasten the Imam’s arrival. Watch the CBN report below, for more:

Survivalists Fear Currency Crash

To survive a feared currency crash, some people are going for gold.

Demand for gold and silver has jumped since the 2008 recession. Many fear the fiat currency, one not backed by gold deposits, will eventually collapse, leading to a worthless paper dollar in the United States, akin to the Weimar Republic in Germany after the First World War.

If This Were An Actual Test...

On November 9th, at 2 pm EST, the government will seize the airwaves in America for 3 1/2 minutes to officially test the Emergency Alert System. This is the first time ever that this has been done and the implications of such a test are alarming.

One wonders, why now? Oh boy, I could give you an earful on that one. My gut says this is a display of control and an implied threat. It shows just how fast and completely Obama could seize full control should he decide it is warranted. Any appropriate emergency (real or fabricated) will do.

Only the President has the authority to implement this at the national level and he has assigned that authority to the Director of FEMA.

The test will be conducted jointly by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) through FEMA, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s (NOAA) National Weather Service (NWS). Doesn’t that just make you feel all warm and fuzzy? It makes me tingle like the prelude to a monumental disaster.

So what will this disaster be? Inquiring minds would really love to know.

Look at the various governments around the world who seized the airways in a time of crises. Never turns out well for the people, now does it?

So, the test will take over all radio and television. I wonder if any of this applies to the web? It did in other countries. And I wonder if everyone knows this is going to take place. Warnings of the test seem scarce and low key. So, how many people will panic when the test goes live in the middle of a week day – a business day in America? And why 3 1/2 minutes? Just to let the threat sink in good and hard? This whole exercise smacks of unconstitutionality and brute force.

Aircraft carrier sized asteroid 2005 YU%% could pass between Earth and the moon

NASA scientists will begin tracking the aircraft carrier-sized asteroid next week. It’s slated to pass by our planet on November 8th.

The asteroid named ‘2005 YU55’ measures about 1,300 feet across and will pass within 201,000 miles of Earth. In Perspective, the moon is about 239,000 miles from Earth. Scientists say its orbit does bring it close enough to Earth that it’s a potential hazard, but it’s far enough away that impact has already been ruled out.

The last time a similarly-sized asteroid passed this close to Earth was 1976.

Back in EUSSR

There are more than a few similarities between the newly forged federal Europe and the former Soviet Union.

It is quite ironic that only 30 years after the fall of the Berlin wall and the end of Soviet communism, a new tyranny has risen, predicated on the same failed centralist political tactics tried and tested in the old Soviet Union. Just ask Russia how that worked out.

And yet with the recent debt crisis spreading across Europe, the problem with centralism as a model has been illustrated yet again...The financial contagion that resulted from European loan defaults, most notably in the case of Greece, has prompted calls for yet more centralization.

Factions inside the European Commission are discussing proposals to make defaulting states "wards" of the Commission, effectively ending national sovereignty for indebted states. Each "ward" would be assigned a budget officer who would oversee spending in the geographical area under his or her direction.

The parallels between the Soviet Union and the European Union are undeniable.

The Hard-Left OWS Plan

The current crop of street pawns, the banal cattle of Occupy Wall Street movement, are fed, herded, and coldly led by the professional agitators from ACORN, SEIU, and the Communist Party of America.

These hardcore Alinskyites are well-funded and well-organized.

Through a series of set-piece street actions and media events coordinated with the White House, the street cattle's drumbeat attacks on capitalism, property rights, and traditional religious and working class values have successfully dominated the news cycles.

This abomination of Aliskyistes is determined that America should become acclimated daily to the classic Marxist street rhetoric of financial inequality, anti-capitalism, and "lets all hate rich Jews, oh I meant Wall Street bankers."

Hello Scott

The following post may seem to have come out of ‘thin air’. There is good reason for this comment, but all I want to do at present is ‘alert’.

According to Jesus’ instructions to His disciples, all prayer is to be directed to the Father.

We can come confidently to the Father because of Christ’s substitutionary sacrifice on the cross. It is faith in Him to save that we can approach The Father in the Name of Jesus.

This is achieved by the enablement of the Holy Spirit who is dwelling within every believer. No prayer is to be directed to the Holy Spirit as His ministry is to bring attention and glory to God The Father and God The Son; never to Himself.

Whenever I hear prayer requests made directly to the Holy Spirit; ‘alarm bells’ go off. This is evidence that the prayer and following message is based upon subjective feelings rather than objective faith directed to the Father’s throne. This is either a false prophet, or an immature Christian not yet instructed in the way they should go.

‘Type’ must NEVER supersede the literal meaning of Scripture; ‘type’ is only a shadow of what is real. In this Postmodern world ‘hyper-type’ is replacing the factual and literal meaning of God’s Word. False prophets also come with soft, pleasant voices, just as wolves wear a fleece.

Hi all. I've been trying to stay caught up with all the news and it is very hard. Coming here is the very best and gives me the most important highlights of each day, thanks so much for Scott and everyone's comments. I have always wondered that although bible prophecy is unfolding at likety split, eye poping, neck twitching speed, if some of us will be caught up at a time of extreme busyness, ie family, work, or play.

For me, I have been ushered into roll playing as an attorney because of emergency court orders, and upcoming emergency hearings for a custody battle with my grandson and my daughter. We had no idea what was going on, and then all of a sudden my grandson was back in under the protection of our home and I am still trying to figure that out. It was nothing short of a miracle by God. Although there was 3 domestic violences against opposing party, they are still demanding we give up custody of our grandson, and the reason for emergency hearing
Wednesday. There are a couple of attorneys in the wings
who want to jump on board, but much too time consuming
or too expensive for short notice, but perhaps after this week. We tried to get an attorney and many pro bon's made promises, but never stepped up. So now we've been forced at least at this time to do Pro Se for the time being.

I'm asking for pray for Wednesday's hearing that we would not have to hand over the child! Please pray for a favorable out come. Thanks you all so very much.

Hello Paula

This is an extremely profound subject! Thankfully, Jesus made it very plain.

Matthew 6:9 Jesus said ‘After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name…’
Luke11:2 And he said unto them, When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth.

‘Our Father’ is a title that shows an intimacy that the Jews never knew when they worshiped God. Then the Son came and enabled direct access into the throne room through faith in Christ’s blood sacrifice on the cross.

The Trinity is ONE God in three Persons.

God The Father
God The Son
God The Holy Spirit

Who have perfect equality! YET God has defined specific rolls to each Person of the Godhead. This is God’s own chosen ORDER in that the Son is subordinate to the Father and the Holy Spirit is subordinate to both the Father and the Son. The same reason why Church leadership is male. A wife is subordinate to her husband, which is not a suggestion of inferiority – but Divine Order,

The Holy Spirit does not witness of Himself John 3:16.

In that case, The Holy Spirit is not the instigator of any prayer directed to Himself.
Today the church is redefining who God is. This is linked to the feminist agenda who resent God as a paternal figure. Faulty prayer is outward evidence that a church or a fellowship are off track and into post-modernist error and mysticism.

Mysticism such as ‘Toronto’ et al; who think they can invoke God’s Spirit in the same way that the occult invoke their spirits. The result is a false spirit of another Jesus and another gospel.

Paula said...

IE,

Please see my thoughts here on whether there are clear roles among the Persons of the Trinity.

Basically, my view is that one unified "will" cannot have hierarchy. If God has only one will then hierarchy is impossible. If there are in fact three wills, with some subordinate to others, this is NOT a trinity but three gods, i.e. Tritheism.

I'm certainly no fan of Toronto or any other occult, mystical, demonic movement. But I have the same level of opposition to any attempt to dismember the Trinity and turn it into a chain of command. Either Jesus is fully God and the Spirit is fully God, or there is more than one god. And if One, then there can be no hierarchy.

Paula said...

PS: Of course people cite "Not my will but yours" as Jesus said to the Father. But Jesus, we must remember, took on human nature without losing divine nature; he is unique. He lived the example of the perfect human for us all. This human-to-God subordination is something that began at a point in time, not eternity past, as shown in Phil. 2:5-11. We must not confuse Jesus' divinity and humanity.

Expected Imminently said...

Hello Paula

BIG issue!

There is no ‘chain of command’ or ‘heirarchy'.

The Trinity are in divine agreement as three Persons of ONE essence. What your thoughts are trying to do is to bring God down to your level of understanding. Finite beings trying to inspect the infinite, great ‘I AM’ take on a fruitless, impossible task.

Can the clay say of the Potter, why have you made me thus? Isaiah 29:16 The Potter has a power that the clay in His hand has no conception of. Look at your finger; it is in three parts, yet acts as a whole unit. The joint with the nail isn’t in charge when it wants to scratch an itch, the whole finger operates in one action – separately but together. (A poor analogy I admit, but it’s the nearest I can manage.)

God has a ready answer for those who would question who He is and why. ‘Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth Job 38: 1-41 etc.

The Son did not ‘start’ when He was born as a man. This is a gross error that John MacArthur had to repent of. It was as a flesh and blood man that God the Son put His divinity to one side to be just like us. Jesus is the ETERNAL Son and is seen in the O.T. as the pre-incarnate Son. O.T. makes plain God is Triune.

The most obvious Scriptures spring readily to mind.

Genesis 1: 26 And God said, Let US make man in OUR image, after OUR likeness…

Psalm 2 Kiss the SON, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.

John17:5,24 So now, Father, glorify me in your own presence with the glory that I had in your presence before the world existed. Father, I desire that those also, whom you have given me, may be with me where I am, to see my glory, which you have given me because you loved me before the foundation of the world.

Quote “Saying that the Son was eternally subordinate to the Father is not the same as the heresy known as Subordinationism. This false doctrine says the Son was an inferior being to the Father. Though He was the eternal uncreated Son He was still not equal to the Father in His being or attributes. The early church father Origen held to a form of Subordinationism. When the doctrine of the Trinity was clearly formulated at the council of Nicea, this heresy along with others was rejected.

Therefore the Son was equal in BEING but subordinate in His ROLE.

We know that when He returns He will give all things back to the Father and submit Himself to the Father.” End quote by BLB D. Stewart.

1Corinthians 15:28 When all things are subjected to him, then the Son himself will also be subjected to the one who put all things in subjection under him, so that God may be all in all’.

The thing is; Jesus plainly said ‘Pray to the Father’ in total agreement of the Divine plan and purposes of the Triune God. It is hard to understand; but there are some things we have to accept that we shall never comprehend here on earth (if ever?)

What we CAN do is trust and obey. When you pray say ‘Our Father’. Which is through the Son in the power of the Holy Spirit resident in each of us in Christ’s Body.

Paula said...

EI: You yourself said,

This is God’s own chosen ORDER in that the Son is subordinate to the Father and the Holy Spirit is subordinate to both the Father and the Son.

That is the definition of hierarchy. But now you say,

There is no ‘chain of command’ or ‘heirarchy'.

But aside from those two statements being contradictory, you add personal insult by condescension:

What your thoughts are trying to do is to bring God down to your level of understanding.

I have stayed away for a while because of ridiculous statements like these, but when I saw the Trinity being patterned after worldly ideas of "order" (the very thing you accuse me of), I had to speak out. But I've said all I'm going to say, and will not read the comments ever again because this is what happens. And that means I won't be reading any responses.

I just thank God that they love me so much that they gave me the gift of eternal life.

The cross has played a defining role in the christian's life in that it has "flung open" the rich provisions of the Kingdom of God.

The cross has enabled me to go to God the Father and ask for anything I need in Jesus name; John 16:24. The Holy Spirit is the one through His divine intervention of His power and the ministration of angels, who brings us our needs. The Holy Spirit basically has replaced Christ on earth.

IMO I dont think Jesus will mind too much if I sit and have a chat with the Holy Spirit about what to do in my life. After all the disciples spoke to Jesus whilst He was here.

I feel to imply that praying to the Holy Spirit is cultish or encouraging church appostasy is a little over the top.

Just my thoughts Dave Armstrong

Hello Paula

We are supposed to be adults having a discussion. It is children that stamp their little foot and sulk as they throw their toys out of the pram because they don’t like the game. You have chosen, again, to take this personally and frankly it is a tiresome trait that I cannot be bothered with either.

To the blog I repeat:

“This is God’s own chosen ORDER in that the Son is subordinate to the Father and the Holy Spirit is subordinate to both the Father and the Son”

Yes! God as ONE being/essence Who chose that the ROLE of God The Son is subordinate to the ROLE of God Father and that the ROLE of the God the Holy Spirit is subordinate to both ROLES of the Father and the Son.

This is a unified decision and is not a chain of command or a hierarchy such as humanity portrays. It is exactly what GOD has determined for the Church which is His Divine Order – not chaos! His rules not mine!

P.S.
All things work together for good. I have read Paula’s ‘here’ and can see the closet door is standing wide open- I appreciate knowing what I am up against. As for J.M. I have no interest in him, or anyone else, who spouts his false gospel of lordship salvation.

Hello Dave

Your comments return me to the reason of my O.P.

God sees the heart of an individual believer and isn’t ready with a club to flatten us when we get things wrong. He knows what we mean, He knows the INTENT behind what we say. He is patient with us and is long-suffering as He guides us into His Truth.

However, we really need to be alert to a ‘Ministry’, which is proclaiming ‘thus saith the Lord’. It is necessary to know if the Lord truly did ‘saith’. We need to recognise which spirit is behind the words, to prevent being led away from Biblical Truth by ‘vain philosophy’ and ‘doctrines of demons’. ONE of the clues that things are out of order is a false spirit masquerading as the Holy Spirit. Scripture tells us that The Holy Spirit witnesses of the Father and the Son, not of Himself. Jesus told us to ‘pray to the Father’ ; yet a person setting themselves up as a teacher of righteousness, is going against that instruction if they are instead praying to the Holy Spirit in a public and formal prayer.

We need to get our guard up, mainly because of the ‘perilous times’ we are living in. The world of the spirit is just as real as the world around us, with one disadvantage. Physical elements give us immediate consequences. If we put our hand into fire, we get burned at once. Pushed under water we will gasp for air. If we fall, we will eventually hit the ground….It isn’t like that in the world of spirit as it can take a very long time before we suffer any consequences of spiritual deception. The only guidance we have is obedience to God’s Word whether we understand it or not.

This is NOT a ‘moot’ point. It is absolutely relevant to our spiritual safety in these dark days. It is ‘watching’, as instructed, with the utmost attention.

God bless us and keep us.
Sue

I'm seeing more and more of this in various Christian public forums--this sniping and attacking one another using 'doctrinal points' as weapons. These back and forth accusations of 'heresy'. You know what? I will not presume to question someone else's salvation status or their relationship with God. That is between that person and God Himself. I think salvation is pretty simple, we just seem to choose to make it complicated because humans seem to need it to be that way. Maybe we feel smarter or something or more special or something, I don't know. It's pride, and pride is THE original sin. That's where it all went wrong in the first place. Personally, I don't feel the need to be any more 'learned' or to be seen as some all knowing Biblical scholar. I come before God, flawed but forgiven, cleansed by the shed blood of Jesus. That justifies me, the sanctification is an ongoing process, and that's between me and God and is no one else's business.

Enough is enough already.

I was going to thank Scott for so faithfully keeping up with things prophecy related and putting it here in such concise form, and that's what this board is about, not the sniping and thrusting doctrinal barbs at one another.

I'm sure you get tired Scott, I am tired, too. And when I'm tired, I get to withdraw and be quiet and pray and engage in Bible study and stop taking in other people's commentaries and opinions for a while, but you, you just keep on going, faithfully serving. Thank you!

Wowser! Hi ya'll. Looks like an exciting day.

You guys, Sue-n-Paula, you be an integral part of this wittle family here. Ya know, I think the Lord leads each of us to the right teachers for us sometimes.

Now me, He gave me some good old down home country preachers, Charles Stanley and long departed J. Vernon McGee. To satisfy my scientist and intellectual side He blessed me with Chuck Missler.

Now one thing I admire about these highly studied and learned men of God....they freely acknowledge that there exist ample room for disagreement in many of the deeper levels, understandings, and interpretations of the Bible.

Paula, Sue....please stay, both of you. You both are so valuable here...and yes, there are some inconsistencies in the above arguments but the Lord knows our hearts.

I agree that The Father knows our hearts, our intents, our misconceptions, and every other incorrect, correct, and dirty little detail. And, like any loving Father, He teaches and grows us in His way that is right and unique for "us".

I agree completely, we pray only to the Father. BUT, at least in this house, prayer is not to be confused to conversations and talking with. We do a lot of that here. We talk with our entire Holy Family. Its a personal relationship....and our Father, Savior, and Comforter are big enough to handle it if we're wrong and get us pointed in the right direction.

Robin thanks for sharing that good point your Pastor made. When I said "moot point" it was not to say it is unimportant but not something that is central to the major tennants of the faith.

If we are to pray without ceasing there will be times the conversations are less formal.

My prayers typically follow the structure of the Lord's prayer and are started Dear Lord of Father...but I will also at times ask the HS to pray for me if I am unsure what to say.

I pray several times a day when all I say is, "Thank-you Jesus."

Sometimes I don't know what to pray so I ask the Holy Spirit to pray. Other times I talk with the Father and Jesus throughout the day depending on what aspect of the trinity I want to commune with; whether it is my Father or my Savior or my teacher and comforter.

I'm thinking strictly speaking from a spiritual stand point the Lord may have allowed the stock market to hit 12K before the big plunge to make a bigger point? It will be much more dramatic when the collapse occurs. We all know the crash is coming based on Revelation chapter 6 and 13 and it is looking like sooner rather than later.

On a personal note the dedication service of my grandson Samuel was such a wonderful blsessing Sunday. The sermon was great, we also had communion and the praise and worship was just fantastic. The whole day was heavenly except the 6hour drive back to WV. lol

My O.P. concerned the prayer Jesus taught His disciples and was hijacked and re-directed into a strop over the Trinity! As my view on The Trinity is orthodox; I was obliged to make a stand against a non-conformist view.

What is so aggravating is the pitiful, misguided appeals to ‘be nice’ that by its very nature will allow any old rubbish to be taught as factual just so manufactured ‘love’ can be foisted off as a quick cover-up of error.

Really Church; I am wearied of this pitiful bleating. Get a grip and get some guts wont you! All this lovey dovey is un-biblical, pap; fit only for the painfully immature to suck at. You need to be off milk, get some teeth into the Word of God and defend His Truth as warriors of Christ not thumb sucking whimpering babies.

‘Sniping and attacking’ in defence of DOCTRINAL matters is EXACTLY what the Church should be doing. We are at war; and if you got out of the trenches and stuck your head out for a change, you would soon find out.

Furthermore it is the ISSUE being confronted which is NOT directed at the PERSON. There is a clear distinction and it needs to be recognised.

What is it to be church! Is it a rocking chair in the shade or Fix bayonets, quick march and Onward Christians Soldiers?

This is the blog as it was until of late when over-familiarity crept in and weakened the foundations. Scott alerted us and encouraged us to get stuck in against all the lies and heresies being bandied about against Israel and the Church. At least thats how it was originally with some lighthearted fun thrown in.

Nowadays the alerts go largely unheeded as Scotts work is bypassed in favour of 'nice cosy chats'. And I too am really disappointed at this paltry attitude,to say the least!

Wake up! You all seem to be nodding off.

Maranatha!

People having a discussion about their beliefs? I think its healthy that people can agree to disagree, no one has to be angry with one another to express their viewpoint, long as its backed by solid scriptural proof & not "beliefs" not your opinion but what is written. We can agree to those terms right? I'm just lookin for scriptural proof where it says jesus is God? Can anybody provide that?

If it says & I quote......

"God is not a man, that he should lie, nor a son of man, that he should change his mind...."-Numbers 23:19

How can jesus be God if God is not a man nor a son of man? Church... anybody, do explain

Hello sue, I know what you mean sister and I admire your stance on this very necessary subject. You've actually got me thinking about my respect for the trinity and their different roles. I as a person can take God for granted. Bless you Sue.

"Jesus is not God, because God never became a man, as you can see according to scripture & according to scripture God himself is the only savior. It seems as though a lot of you are confused. Good luck with that"

Anon: It would be good for you to read the Book of John. Below are a few verses from John showing Jesus is God.

1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. 4 In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. 5 And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend[a] it.

6 There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. 7 This man came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all through him might believe. 8 He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light. 9 That was the true Light which gives light to every man coming into the world.[b]
10 He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him. 11 He came to His own,[c] and His own[d] did not receive Him. 12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: 13 who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.
15 John bore witness of Him and cried out, saying, “This was He of whom I said, ‘He who comes after me is preferred before me, for He was before me.’”
16 And[e] of His fullness we have all received, and grace for grace. 17 For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. 18 No one has seen God at any time. The only begotten Son,[f] who is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him.

Blessings,
Kathleen

(1Co 13:1) If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.

(1Co 13:2) And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.

(1Co 13:3) If I give away all I have, and if I deliver up my body to be burned, but have not love, I gain nothing.

(1Co 13:4) Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant

(1Co 13:5) or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful;

(1Co 13:6) it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth.

(1Co 13:7) Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

(1Co 13:8) Love never ends. As for prophecies, they will pass away; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away.

(1Co 13:9) For we know in part and we prophesy in part,

(1Co 13:10) but when the perfect comes, the partial will pass away.

(1Co 13:11) When I was a child, I spoke like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I gave up childish ways.

(1Co 13:12) For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I have been fully known.

(1Co 13:13) So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love.

Sue we can tell a troll from a sister in Christ. Everyone here is going to diagree with a cult view, claiming Jesus is not God. Paula on the other hand has proven to be a dear sister in Christ.

I basically agree with everything you are saying but you tend to alienate those who would otherwise take your side. As believers we are to show the fruit of the spirit & that includes kindness and love. Paula is giving a different side of the same coin as others have too. Again it is fine to disagree but it can be done without the name calling.

I often share personal stories and I appreciate others who do the same as well as prayer requests. It is not like we are hijacking a "thread". It is a great way to fellowship with like minded people and a way to get to know people from all over the world who are watching for the return of our Lord.

If Scott objects to the prayer requests/sharing than I would honor that and quit in a heart beat. He is unbelievably gracious and that is a major appeal to the fellowship here. In addition to the great job of commentary and news gathering he does. There is no other site IMO that equals what Scott brings to us. Don't you enjoy just a little bit getting to know the people who post here with their concerns, needs and joys?

Wow. The commenters on this blog are, for the most part, such mature believers. To those of you who posted Scripture, thank you so very much, as the Word always is the best "argument" for any conflict. The Scriptures "wash" over our raw edges.

I have, in the very distant past, been in meetings in which people were "prayed over" to "receive the Holy Spirit" but they were never led FIRST to Jesus as Lord! My spiritual radar went off! What "spirit" did they receive?

On the other hand, I have prayed "please comfort them, Holy Spirit" (knowing He is the great Comforter ). When I pray, I usually say "Lord" and sometime think about the Father and sometimes I think about Jesus. We always pray in the name of Jesus (especially in public prayer). I do not worry about where it goes, knowing the prayer will be heard. We cannot put God and the Trinity in a box.

I am confident that Scott and the Godly bloggers on this post would not allow heresy . On the other hand, we must not drive away those who would come here, looking for the Truth, and be led to Jesus.

Cults are easy! It is the subtle deception that goes right over the head of those paying no attention whatsoever to the prompting of the resident Holy Spirit. Discernment is a gift of The Holy Spirit that needs to be ‘stirred up’ and practised constantly. Vital is to KNOW God’s Word.

The early Church was badly split for lack of the correct, Biblical, definition of what became known as The Trinity, and with God’s help they ‘threw out’ many heresies. Those heresies still surface, we need to be vigilant as this is a MAJOR issue not a minor one.

What we do NOW will determine the role we will play in the Messianic Kingdom and into Eternity. Our future is being determined in the here and now. We are to leave behind the basic fundamentals and PRESS ON, into maturity for Christ’s sake and for His will to be done.

God bless you.

HELLO REUBEN
Have you ever read the following?

ISAIAH 53
1 Who has believed our report?
And to whom has the arm of the LORD been revealed?
2 For He shall grow up before Him as a tender plant,
And as a root out of dry ground.
He has no form or comeliness;
And when we see Him,
There is no beauty that we should desire Him.
3 He is despised and rejected by men,
A Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief.
And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him;
He was despised, and we did not esteem Him.
4 Surely He has borne our griefs
And carried our sorrows;
Yet we esteemed Him stricken,
Smitten by God, and afflicted.
5 But He was wounded for our transgressions,
He was bruised for our iniquities;
The chastisement for our peace was upon Him,
And by His stripes we are healed.
6 All we like sheep have gone astray;
We have turned, every one, to his own way;
And the LORD has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.
7 He was oppressed and He was afflicted,
Yet He opened not His mouth;
He was led as a lamb to the slaughter,
And as a sheep before its shearers is silent,
So He opened not His mouth.
8 He was taken from prison and from judgment,
And who will declare His generation?
For He was cut off from the land of the living;
For the transgressions of My people He was stricken.
9 And they[a] made His grave with the wicked—
But with the rich at His death,
Because He had done no violence,
Nor was any deceit in His mouth.
10 Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise Him;
He has put Him to grief.
When You make His soul an offering for sin,
He shall see His seed, He shall prolong His days,
And the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in His hand.
11 He shall see the labor of His soul,[b]and be satisfied.
By His knowledge My righteous Servant shall justify many,
For He shall bear their iniquities.
12 Therefore I will divide Him a portion with the great,
And He shall divide the spoil with the strong,
Because He poured out His soul unto death,
And He was numbered with the transgressors,
And He bore the sin of many,
And made intercession for the transgressors.

Sue & Paula, you gals have done gone and done it. This boy are sitting back taking a good look at himself this fine morning.

False doctrine...Yup, it can be deadly! Guess its time to sit down and take a good second look for myself...this is one I just haven't ever been that concerned about. My bad and will be praying about it this morning.

Somehow, if and when I really get off track the Holy Spirit just flat stands the hair up on the back of my neck. He has not done that on this subject but....BUT, that's no excuse for continuing to be unsure of exactly what I do believe....and why.

As for those complaining about the discussions.....well, it is a two sided coin. We are to correct each other. And it can look a little "muddied" to an outsider just sticking their nose in. But the flip side is to let a false view or belief become prevalent and unchallenged. We know that is flat wrong and deadly. The determination, I guess, is how fine is any particular hair to be split?

Guess, to me, the answer is in the Bible's answer. If the Bible just doesn't address something in a definitive way then our arguments are just our interpretations and worth discussing. If, however, the Bible is definitive the its doctrinal and worth going to the mat over to prevent false teaching.....and that, IMHO, is where this little "Blog" family excels at.

So much can be lost in this medium of communication, inflections in our voices, facial expressions etc. Stepping back, and viewing the whole picture here, ask your self where is all this “strife” coming from? Who is the enemy against us? Our passions are running high in these days.

Continuously, comments here are made at the amazement of “how many blind “Christians” there are out there” referring that they can’t see the Prophecies being fulfilled right before their eyes! As you all know, this statement is not said by any of us, in any kind of “Righteousness”, but rather in amazement. It is just an example of how words can be misinterpreted. Having said that, there are many types of “Christians” out there, as we all know. Some are completely blind, entrenched in false teachings and beliefs, some are moderately, and some are not at all. SOME of these “Christians” can unknowingly, ( some times knowingly), spread their false teachings, distractions, that lead others astray. Toe hold, foot hold, strong hold. This can be very, very deceiving under the cloak of “Christianity”, and is a tactic the enemy uses. It is not always blatantly obvious, but extended through continual subtleties, and manipulative words and actions. “Sugar coated” as Paula once firmly stated. We focus so much on Prophecy, that we sometimes may loose sight of our surroundings within the Church, our foundation in His Word.

As Sue so astutely said, the words “WAKE UP!” have been urgently stirring in my Spirit also. Yes indeed, “waking up” is something the Lord has profoundly brought my attention too, not just to share with others, but I say this in all humility before Him, for myself also :) Agreeing to disagree is a mature and correct response to our discussions in normal circumstances, but we are not living in “normal” times by any means! And there are exceptions to that rule. Peter and Paul had a pretty good tumble, but they still loved each other greatly. We have to be cautious with our words, as the temptation can be to let that ole flesh creep in. There is a balance that needs to be found, and it’s not always easy. Don’t for a moment believe that the Church is not on the enemies’ radar for attack, especially NOW! THIS IS SPIRITUAL WARFARE! WE need to put on the Full Armor of God! So many Brothers and Sisters are under attack in their personal lives, for any number of reasons, and this is where a lot of stress comes from and can spill over into “discussions”. The “Church” is being refined, cleaned up, before our Beloved Bride Groom comes for us. God Himself will bring to the surface, what needs to be refined.

I say this with all LOVE and SERIOUSNESS, time is very, very short and soon we will all be standing accountable before Him! There is an urgency of things soon to come, and we, yes WE (that includes myself), had all better KNOW His Word, KNOW what we stand for, KNOW what we Believe, because as the Lord tarries, the time that very well may be coming, very soon, is when the insulated tea socials with cookies on a beautiful Sunday afternoon will be gone...and we will be put to the fullness of TESTING in a variety of matters.

Any grey areas will vanish and it will be for or against…Jesus made that very clear…
We have to fight the good fight…finish the race! Honoring and Glorify Him! Look Up! Look Up dear Brothers and Sisters, our redemption draweth nigh! Thank You Abba Father! Thank You Our Awesome Savior Lord Jesus! Thank You Wondrous Holy Spirit! All Praise and Glory be to You Forever Father!

God Bless You All!

Kathleen, I want to apologize for confusing you with someone else. Please forgive me.

WVBorn…I appreciate all you have said. I too, agree that we can speak to one another without condescension. I know that for years I had the wrong attitude about my “knowledge”, and all I did was turn people off. I do not have a way with words as so many do. I am sure the Lord has me that way for a reason.

Now, I try to speak without harshness (and I don’t always manage that) and I see the Lord in it.

Still TRUTH, but without a “know it all” spirit. (Hopefully :) )
I now pray that I haven’t said too much already.

As Sue said, I would agree that we are to pray to the Father. I believe the Scriptures are more than adequate saying that Jesus came to “point us to the Father”.

I agree with “LOVE AND SERIOUSNESS”. That is definitely the time we are in.

I pray our heavenly Father will bless all of you. :)

"..if you bring your gift to the altar, and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift there before the altar, and go your way. First be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift."

Sue, I read the comments here and I had an emotional reaction particularly to the exchange with Paula, or maybe moreso the tone of the exchange or at least the way I perceived it, and I commented accordingly. I was quite angry, actually and I shouldn't have said anything. What I should have done is gone directly to prayer to take that up with God.

So for that I wish to apologize, for my responding the way I did.

I will not engage in any sort of "self defense", other than to agree that, as someone else pointed out here, or at least the gist of it...we all have lives outside of this venue, we all have homes and families and relationships and as Christians, we face attack on many fronts. We all have battles we are fighting and none of us here knows what struggles each of us faces outside of this venue. Personalities rub each other the wrong way, we have issues and backgrounds that make us personally sensitive to certain things and certain personality styles and certain discussion points and issues. And...just because someone isn't HERE vocally and publicly slugging it out doesn't mean they aren't fighting some type of battle somewhere.

I am sensitive to the issue of the kind of witness being presented to nonbelievers, since I myself used to be quite fond of pointing out the poor behavior of Christians (before I was one) and using that as an excuse, and now I have family members who do the same thing constantly. I am also sensitive to the issue of Christians placing stumbling blocks in front of each other. We're running this race with missiles raining down on us from all around, from our enemy. Do we really need to be punching and tripping up one other, or should we be pulling each other up when we see our fellow believers struggling? I'm not saying this to attack anyone, I'm just saying that we need to be building one another up, and if reproof or correction is needed, it should be done in a way that helps, not hurts.

Having said that, I'm going back into quiet mode for a while.

Again, my apologies. I am in prayer over my reaction and my part in this, and step number one in that was apologizing.

Mrs. C and EI are dangerous people.
Watch their fruit not their words.
Knowledge is good but without love it puffs up , brings fear and the fruit of dissention.
There is a constant working of it around them both.
If they humbled their selves they would be exalted. Instead they hold their selves up as the standard that
everyone else should follow.

When the Apostle John was returned to Ephesus following his exile on Patmos, he lived to be very old. They used to carry him to the church meetings. Everyone wanted him to say something . Say something IMPORTANT.
All he would say, sometimes to the chagrin of the elders was, Little children I say to you. LOVE ONE ANOTHER.That's all .
Our conversations in any Christian community ( Including this one) should be truthful and gracious.
When someone offends they should apologize. When they apologize. Forgiveness should be immediate, full and FREE.
Our giftings are not ours. They are for others. If we heal we can't just tell everyone they should study and be healers like us.But each and everyone of us is gifted , for others and required by Christ to love.
To suggest that 1 cor 13 is not timely and accurate to our situation on this blog is foolishness.
We need to get "Over " ourselves and back to learning what pleases the Lord.
In my time here one the most mature among us was Dylan. We are having these kind of brawls in front of him and others like him.
For shame.

Hello Ellis

If you felt the need to apologise, I can only say 'no problem and sorted! To me a frank and forthright exchange is nothing to apologise over. While I am not interested in being popular, neither am I intent on alienating anyone – I ‘hear’ what The Lord wants said, and I say it as I understand it! The rest is up to Him to deal with as my job is done. An old friend of mine once recognised a truth; she noticed that it costs me to be a ‘watchman’; I was glad someone had taken the trouble to look.

It isn’t a gift I chose to have as I was unbearably ‘sensitive’. Out of all the gifts, discernment has to be the least popular – watchmen are renowned for being stoned when the crowd don’t like what they hear. That isn’t to say watchmen are always right! The dust from Jehu’s chariot can look a lot like the dust kicked up from an approaching army. Generally I know from The Word pretty quickly these days and don’t make the mistakes I did as a youngster. You can bet that if I do get it wrong, The Lord is quick to let me know; and when that happens I own up and confess I was mistaken.

Launching out in faith to speak up is hair-raising at times. It isn’t until AFTER I have obeyed that I get to learn the WHY – at least in part. Right now I am aware of a depth in all of this that is causing great pain and an unwillingness to search a heart. When The Lord puts His finger on an issue that requires a change in some way; it is out of His Love for that person He challenges, in order to bring them closer to His side in their walk with Him. Afterward, it will bring the peaceable fruit of righteousness for those who are trained by it. Heb.12:11 (This is a Word from The Lord for that person; you know who you are)

Every blessing
Sue
