Israel Police on high alert ahead of Yom Kippur

Israel Police have been holding talks with Israeli Arab representatives in bid to diffuse tensions ahead of Yom Kippur, after the burning of an Upper-Galilee mosque earlier this week.

Police hope that calm will be restored in time for Yom Kippur on Saturday.Security forces sealed off the West Bank on Thursday at midnight, and the blockade will last for 48 hours until Yom Kippur at midnight. The blockade can only be lifted for humanitarian or medical reasons and with the permission of the civil administration.

Public opinion surveys over the past few years show most Jews in Israel observe Yom Kippur.

High alert on Yom Kippur for fear of riots

Security forces reinforce deployment in northern Israel and Jerusalem for fear of clashes with Tuba Zangaria residents, possible riots in Temple Mount. Magen David Adom raises alert to highest level; volunteers to guard synagogues

Police will restrict entry to the Temple Mount to men over the age of 45 following intelligence indicating plans to start riots. Meanwhile, police and Border Guard forces will be deployed in Jerusalem to maintain order. Officers will also guard the Western Wall from Friday afternoon until the end of Kippur.

Dominant Dollar May Give Way to "Multipolar" System, Merkel Says

The dollar’s dominance may give way to a “multipolar” currency system as power shifts in the world economy, German Chancellor Angela Merkel said.

The future of the global monetary system, including monitoring of capital flows, will form part of the discussion at next month’s Group of 20 summit in Cannes, France, she said.

Assad warns Jordan against holding a war game like Turkey and Israel

Tensions peaked again around Syria's borders with Israel, Turkey and Jordan as the first two embarked on large-scale mobilization maneuvers near those borders Wednesday and Thursday, Oct. 5-6 and the Jordanian armed forces prepared to follow suit.

United States and Turkey urged Jordan's King Abdullah to hold a similar maneuver or reinforce his units on the Syrian border. But Bashar Assad decided that being forced to build up his forces on Syria's borders with Turkey and Israel was enough and a Jordanian exercise must be stopped.

It was the second time this week that the Syrian ruler had threatened to punish an enemy with ground-to-ground missiles. Tuesday, Oct. 4, DEBKAfile revealed that Assad had threatened to demolish Tel Aviv by missiles within six hours of an attack on Syria.

Now we get to the really interesting part of this article:

In Washington, Ankara and Jerusalem, the Syrian message to Jordan was taken as an implied warning to Turkey and Israel alike that Assad had no intention of taking their military exercises lying down either and a military response was coming.

The Turkish war game is taking place in the Hatay province which borders on northern Syria. It is scheduled to last nine days. Israel ended its two-day maneuver Thursday, deploying troops within sight of southwest Syria and Jordan.

The two-day Israeli war game was not announced. It entailed the call-up of the Northern and Central Commands reserve brigades without prior notice. The units were directed to collect the men and officers from home and drive them to their units on the assumption that a missile attack on Israel was already underway and road disruptions prevented them from making their own way.

Obama's Rhetoric Could Turn 'Occupy Wall Street' Violent

During a Fox Business interview with Judge Andrew Napolitano, Senator Rand Paul warned that Barack Obama’s implicit support for the grievances of the ‘Occupy Wall Street’ protesters could provoke them to turn into a violent mob.

Scaling the heights of hypocrisy once again, Barack Obama – whose 2008 campaign was funded by Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, Citigroup, and Morgan Stanley – sympathized with the OWS protesters yesterday while grandstanding as the man to bring Wall Street back in line, despite the fact that his own cabinet is full of former Wall Street executives and he is even more reliant on Wall Street for his 2012 presidential run.

The Kentucky Senator highlighted the hypocrisy of some of the protesters vowing not to work for a corporation while carrying around expensive consumer products.

Fukushima desolation worst since Hiroshima, Nagasaki

Beyond the police roadblocks that mark the no-go zone around the wrecked Fukushima No. 1 nuclear plant, 2-meter-tall weeds invade rice paddies and vines gone wild strangle road signs along empty streets.

While nature reclaims the 20-km no-go zone, Fukushima's ¥240 billion a year farm industry is being devastated and tourists that hiked the prefecture's mountains and surfed off its beaches have all but vanished.

The bulk of radioactive contamination cuts a 5- to 10-km-wide swath of land running as far as 30 km northwest of the nuclear plant, surveys of radiation hot spots by the science ministry show. The government extended evacuations beyond the 20-km zone in April to cover this corridor, which includes parts of Iitate.

Inside the evacuation areas, levels of radiation higher than the government's criteria for evacuation have been recorded at 89 of 210 monitoring posts. At 24 of the sites, the reading was higher than the level at which the International Atomic Energy Agency says increases the risk of cancer.

Strong quake rattles northern Argentina

A strong, 6.2 magnitude earthquake struck Argentina on Thursday, rattling a sparsely populated northern region bordering Bolivia and Paraguay but so far causing no damage or casualties.

Take a look at the seismic monitor - earthquakes seem to be on the rise again:

In addition to the large quake in Argentina, we also had multiple quakes >5.0, including yet another 6.5, this one in the Kermadec Islands.

I've been thinking lately that the season for war in the ME is about to come to a close with the winter months coming upon them. Historically, they prefer to do battle in the summer months when rainfall is less likely to impede their operations. So war is likely to occur very, very soon.

I have just read the following article about meat in our US groceries stores being slaughtered according to sharia law, which involves praying over it to alla. The meat might have a hallah designation.
http://europenews.dk/en/node/48102
O Lord Jesus, come some!

Robin said...

Sharon, Halal meat has been widely available in US market for many years . . .especially in areas where there's a large concentration of Muslims. Not ALL meat will be designated as Halal . . .atleast, not before the Church is removed. Halal meat can not come in contact with pork . . .so can't even be butchered with knives used on pork or on a block used to butcher pork. That alone makes Halal meat impractical. The Halal meat carried in stores was brought in from outside suppliers and not prepared on site. Don't worry, we won't be forced to go vegetarian or slaughter our own meat :)

Geared Up . . .I've no doubt war will occur soon based on current events . . .but it's a misnomer that ME prefer battle in the summer months. Actually, the heat may cause tempers to flair more readily . . .but because of cooler temperatures in the winter season, they actually prefer that period for war. Winter in Syria is similar to winter in Miami, FL :) Remember, it was winter (January) when this year's Arab Spring was planned to begin :)

October and November are considered the rainy months and snow will follow in December. Whether it occurs this fall or next spring, we won't have long to find out either way. Just remember that Jesus said, "But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day." Matthew 24:20

Brethren, "Now as touching things offered unto idols..." and Mark Blitz's "Judaizing" error, putting us under the Law again...

There are simply too many verses for me to chew up Scott's blogspace quoting all of Romans 14, 1 Corinthians 8, and 10, so I'll just toss out a couple vss with the advise to read those Chapters carefully, with the eye for when and where it is, in fact, Ok to eat foods offered to idols, and when it would cause offense to the 'weaker' brothers who are not mature in the faith [Obviously, these are refering to any kind of gatherings and not in the privacy of yer own home].

Romans 14
1 Him that is weak in the faith receive ye, but not to doubtful disputations.
2 For one believes that he may eat all things: another, who is weak, eats herbs...
14 I know, and am persuaded by the Lord Jesus, that there is nothing unclean of itself...
23 ...for whatsoever is not of faith is sin.

1 Corinthians 8:4 ...we know that an idol is nothing in the world, and that there is none other God but one...
7 Howbeit there is not in every man that knowledge: for some with conscience of the idol unto this hour eat it as a thing offered unto an idol; and their conscience being weak is defiled.
8 But foods commends us not to God: for neither, if we eat, are we the better; neither, if we eat not, are we the worse.
9 But take heed lest by any means this liberty of yours become a stumblingblock to them that are weak...
25 Whatsoever is sold in the meat markets, that eat, asking no questions for conscience sake: [as Mr. Blitz is doing...]
26 For the earth is the Lord's, and the fulness thereof...

1 Timothy 4:1 Now the Spirit speaks expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;
3 Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from foods, which God has created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.
4 For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving:
5 For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.

Unfortunately, this all should cause one to hold suspect other 'teachings' of Mark Blitz, and to examine them carefully in the light of God's Word!
Hope this helps.
;)

As far as attacking in winter vs summer, etc..don't forget - missiles can be launched at any time of year, and its the missiles (IMO) coming from Syria that will trigger everything...

Scott said...

In fact, Syria might be more inclined t o launch missiles in the winter months, knowing it would inhibit an Israel ground response. Just food for thought

Robin said...

Geared Up :) Respectfully :) that verse you sight "But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day." Matthew 24:20 is directed at the Jews. You see, after the rapture, during the tribulation, God's attention will return to Israel, the Church having been removed. After the Abomination of Desolation (Antichrist making the Temple unusable by calling himself God) . . .the Jews are ordered to flee. Jesus tells them to pray it won't be winter nor their sabbath as those times will pose a hardship as they're to head to the mountains. (mountains are of course, hard hit in winter)

Anyway gearedup I have always heard the same thing that they prefer to fight wars in the summer but others have raised good points.

I am now on my wife's computer becasue apparently Misty my computer caught the same virus (: at least my microsoft office 2000 is ailing...I know I am 10 years behind as the IT tech is telling me time... to get with the times.

Computers grrrrrr...another good reason to add to the list for leaving this world behind! I am not a high tec gadget guy at all.

In re-reading my post, I guess I should have blamed Sharon... I mean -pointed to Sharon's link above wherein Mark Blitz puts forth this error on eating Halal foods...lest anyone think I started that rant outta the clear blue sky...

Robin, the fact that Safeway and others are already doing this in spite of its impracticability shows a couple of things worth noting.

TPTB don't care about impracticability as long as they can shove burdens like sharia law down our throats.

The increase in food handling costs is designed to hurt 'the masses' towards the eventual goal of famine in the Trib, much in the same way that they take grains outta our mouths and burn them up as unnecessary 'bio-fuels' and ship our sheep around the globe and import Australian sheep instead soz they and all their cronies get their 'middle-man' fingers in the profit pie...

Robin, yes the verse refers to the Jews who have not been raptured and whom are caught in the tribulation. I never suggested or stated otherwise. The point to my aforementioned remark is to be ready--whether you are Greek or Jew--because you don't know when it (the rapture and consequent tribulation) will occur. How is one ready? By accepting Christ as your personal Savior.

I'm listening to Sen. Jim DeMint discuss the nuclear option that Reid took last night to prohibit filibusters. Reid changed the procedural option so that he can suspend senate rules to ram through legislation without amendments. Reid can block amendments to ANY bill without a vote on it.

"We're teetering on tyranny", said Sen. DeMint in his interview with Mark Levin.

We know that this world must march towards a dictatorship and this is yet another step towards achieving this goal and it must come to pass in order for the world to be accepting of the One World Leader and his dictatorship.

My apologies, geared . . .I thought your mentioning that verse (time period 3.5 years into the Tribulation) in a post about impending war before winter were related.

I heard DeMint earlier and last night as well. It's unbelievable what Democrats are attempting to do with the rule's change. This is the part that it becomes sticky for me.

Yes, I agree . . .these things will come to pass, that we know. But do we sit idly by on our thumbs and do nothing because it's all happening according to God's great plan? Of course God's plan will carry through no matter what . . .but I simply can't sit idly by and watch the nation I love, the nation hundreds of thousands of young men and women have given their lives to defend, the only nation on the face of the Earth where our religious freedoms are currently protected, while evil triumphs.

WV: The 1967 war occurred in June. The Yom Kippor war was in 1973 if I recall.

Robin said...

Yes, Dutch . . .that's correct . . .the Yom Kippor war began in October 1973. The 1967 war wasn't exactly planned for summer . . .it's just that Nasser was lied to by the Soviets about Israeli troop build up in May of that year. So with tensions high anyway, they decided to go for the gusto.

But Arab Spring was in the planning stage for quite some time . . .and planned to begin in January 2011. Having travelled extensively in the ME, I can assure you, they'd much prefer to do such things in the winter's cooler months. Deserts are hot in winter and even hotter in summer. I sincerely believe war is far more likely to begin this fall and winter rather than next summer.

"Teaching Journalist's how to report on Jihad".

Looks like another way of "pandering up to" and "appeasing" the Islamic religion. The plight of the people of the Islamic religion, besides being ruled by an authoritarian belief system which has no problem with "be-heading" every world wide non-conformist to it's demands is that they don't know Jesus Christ. To me the article describes, appeasement, white wash and gutless pandering on the part of the produces of this journalistic course. If their journalist's why not report the truth as to the goals and intent's of the Islamic religion thereby warning the world of the horrors to come for those who don't fall into line?.
Here in Australia and as reported in "Europe News.com" we have a group of people who are pushing to have Sharia law co-exist with our Divorce Laws to make it easier for Muslim women to get a divorce. Fair enough every women has the right to freedom from an irreconcilable, abusive marriage, however, any acceptance of this this "sub legal" co-existance between the Austalian Government and Islamic Sharia law can only mean official calls for Islamic Sharia Law to be legitamised in the country, geographically, polically, constitutionally and legally. To me that would spell medium to long term disaster for Australian culture and morals; another example of appeasement to Islam.

There's a saying in this country; "if you don't like it here go home". If the Muslims dont like getting an Australian style divorce well fly home get yourselves divorced and we'll welcome you back here in your new legal definition as single people.

Hi Seth-

I am glad you have more specifics for your surgery. I know you probably don't feel like eating to much but any last food ideas before your cut off time on Sunday? :)

I am glad they can go the least invasive route so you can get back in the groove of life. That is hard with down time and surgeries. Be good to your body, scope or not. It will still need the TLC to get you through it.

Many prayers from me to you!

God Bless!!

Did you mean the Trib, not Millennium??

When I mentioned "...food handling costs...towards the eventual goal of famine in the Trib..." I forgot to also mention that in 1 of Hal Lindsey's reports he gave a good explanation of Revelation 6:6, that the masses will be reduced to sub-poverty and famine, but the ruling elite will still have the fine foods...[oil & wine -FWIW...]

I don't see a problem with schweinefleisch in the Trib, since it's a traditional Gentile food, but I have wondered about it in the Mill, if only Israel will hafta remain Kosher or if us Gentiles will hafta give up the bacon too?!?
