Putin Set To Re-Emerge As Czar Of Russia
On August 17th – in a column entitled, “Putin Rising: But Is He Gog?” — I wrote that “after keeping a relatively low profile for the last several years, Vladimir Putin is rising. In recent weeks, the Russian leader — currently serving as his country’s prime minister — once again has been making headlines, stoking controversy, and seeming to position himself to run for president of Russia again in March 2012.”
As stated before, I would argue that he never really lost power, due to the way he crafted the position of Prime Minister.
Reuters notes that “the next president will be elected for six years and the constitution still allows the head of state a maximum of two straight terms — meaning Putin could be in power for another 12 years.”
The re-emergence of Putin as Russia’s central tyrant will re-stoke speculation that we are heading towards the “War of Gog and Magog”as prophesied in the Bible in Ezekiel chapters 38 and 39.
A growing number of Jews also believe Ezekiel 38 and 39 could come true in our lifetime, and possibly in the next few years. In June of 2010, for example, a group of Rabbis in Israel said current events seemed to be leading to the “War of Gog and Magog.”
Below we see another stark reminder of the rising Christian persecution around the globe, as the nations yawn:
More Than 100 Christians Killed in Nigeria's Plateau State
A rash of attacks by armed Muslim extremists on villages in Nigeria’s Plateau state in the past month have left more than 100 Christians dead, including the elimination of entire families, sources said.
In a guerilla-type “hit and run” attack on the Christian community of Vwang Kogot, Muslim attackers at about 8 p.m. on Sept. 9 killed 14 Christians, including a pregnant woman. Survivors of the attack told Compass that the assailants raided the village with the aid of men in military uniforms of the Nigerian Army.
“After the soldiers and the Muslims left, we rushed into the place to see the destruction they did,” he said. “We discovered that 14 people were killed. Among them was a pregnant woman who died with a child in her womb – bringing the number of deaths to 15 persons. We also observed that the victims died from gun and machete wounds.”
Netanyahu's Speech and the Deafening Silence
If Israel shrank to just one downtown city block in Tel Aviv, it would still be reason for an all-out war of extermination by the Arab and Muslim world.
Those of you who saw Bibi’s speech at the UN - that Temple of Hypocrisy and Moral Turpitude - will have noticed the polite but tepid applause from a few along with the deafening silence from oh, so many of the international delegates.
The stark fact, which nobody wants to hear, is that Islam will never make peace with a non-Muslim state, especially if the Muslim foot trod triumphal upon that same territory once occupied in the name of Allah.
In conclusion, the endless and repeated begging for peace from a perverse and irretrievably hostile Muslim and Arab world must stop. The reality is desperately hard to acknowledge and accept, but it is an Islamic fact that Islam and its adherents will never make peace with non-Muslims.
A Palestinian State Will Not Bring Peace
Abbas, not surprisingly, blamed the failure of earlier negotiations on Israel. He complained that "the Israeli government ... frantically continues to intensify building of settlements on the territory of the state of Palestine.
Are the Israeli settlements really the problem? No, they’re just the obstacle du jour.
In fact, the Palestinian Arabs rejected the United Nations’ original proposal to create a Jewish state and an Arab state in 1947, long before any "settlements” were on the horizon.
As Israeli Prime Minister Bejamin Netanyahu explained in his own UN address on Friday: "Our conflict has been raging for—was raging for nearly half a century before there was a single Israeli settlement in the West Bank. ...
The hypocrisy below is mind numbing:
Syria's UN envoy: Israel is committing 'state terrorism' against Palestinians
Compare these two statements:
Israel's human rights violations are proof that it is committing "state terrorism," Syria's ambassador to the United Nations told the UN's Human Rights Council on Monday.
The comment by the Syrian official came amid a months-long crackdown by Bashar Assad's regime against pro-democracy protesters. Earlier this month, United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights Navi Pillay said that at least 2,700 people have been killed in Syria since anti-government protests broke out in March.
Again. Mind numbing. Typical for discourse in the Middle East.
We can see the same below:
Stockholm Syndrome from Tehran
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad engineered the release last week of two American hikers serving eight-year prison terms on trumped-up espionage charges.
He may have thought the release would make him seem more humane, but the $1 million bail-for-freedom deal makes Tehran look like Somali pirates, grabbing innocent tourists, holding them hostage and then releasing them for ransom.
So why did released hiker Shane Bauer say the following upon his release? "Two years in prison is too long, and we sincerely hope for the freedom of other political prisoners and other unjustly imprisoned people in America (emphasis added) and Iran."
The moral-equivalent rhetoric may have worked when Bauer was a peace and conflict studies major at the University of California, Berkeley, but one country ginned up phony espionage charges to use him and his companions as political pawns -- that's Iran -- and the other country doesn't imprison critics because of what they say or use violence to quell dissent.
At the time of their arrest, Bauer and Shourd were living in Damascus, in the bosom of Bashar Assad's Syria. They have shared a professed love of Middle Eastern culture. They also shared some blind spots.
Shourd, for example, wrote that in Yemen,
"The separation of sexes is widely understood as an attempt to protect women, and I have to admit, the streets do feel safe. Men leave you alone as long as you are covered; in a bizarre way it is less of a hassle being a woman here than anywhere I've ever been."
However, reality suggests something very different. Again - its the whole "reality thing":
Newsweek lists Yemen as one of nine countries that are "the worst places to be a woman," because domestic violence is not illegal and there is no legal recognition of spousal rape.
A year before Shourd wrote about how safe she felt in Yemen, 10-year-old Nujood Ali went to a Sanaa courtroom to ask a judge to release her from an arranged marriage to an older man who beat her. Other girl brides came forward with their horror stories. A Sanaa University study found that more than half of Yemeni girls are married before they turn 18.
But reality matters little in bizarro world.

A bit off topic, but so far everything seems quiet on the Elenin/earthquake front.
Yep - I just got home and looked at the seismic monitor. If it did break up, we'll be passing through tthe "tail" in early November. Plus, it is closest to earth on Oct 16. All of which may mean nothing. Who knows.
Oh my goodness...Scott and Caver I just read on Drudge where your NC mentally challenged governor called for the suspension of congressional elections for the next two years. Yikes, but this sounds like sedition to me!
Yippers WV.....I just flipped over to the local state capital news site and there's nothing there. Gonna go check Drudge.
Geepers, its there! Well, she is a Demo and she must know that if the elections are held she and her fellow spenders won't get elected to Dog Catcher....assistant. Shucks, with the mood down here right now....most of them couldn't even get nominated to handle the popper scooper.
Check out the Kotel...Ive been waiting for this :) Only I cant remember what night they have the Rosh Hashanah Service. If you can catch it, it is amazing! Remember they are 7 hours ahead of the East Coast. Right now the Kotel (Western Wall) Plaza is full, and its 1:00 in the morning! It is an amazing Service! The shofars are blowing, and the people recite Prayers with the Rabbis. One year, there were thousands there...around midnight as I recall. Women, children, men all singing and Praying. WOW! Brought tears to my eyes it was soooo beautiful!
God Bless!

Rosh hashanah starts at sundown tomorrow, right?
Right Dylan. Rosh Hashana begins at sundown September 28, 2011. President Obama sent a video to Israel today. He assures Israel of America's unshakable commitment to Israel.
Dylan, there does seem to be some discrepancy on this date thing. I received an email from a local Messianic church saying the date was sundown, Sept. 27th. Other calendars I've seen say Sept. 28th.
Here's a discussion about it on a forum I sometimes check that says the date this year is Sept. 30th, and they explain why. Hopefully this helps!

Sure gives new meaning to "the day and hour no one knows"... ;)
Here in Durham they are celebrating
The feast of trumpets tomorrow and the morning of the 29th.
I heard a lecture tonight on the last trump.
There are these staccatto one and then a long one and then a really long last one..
Hi Brother Dylan, :)
Yes, you are correct. Rosh Hashanah begins at sunset the
28th, and will continue until the 30th.
A Jewish new day starts at the beginning of sunset(rather than midnight), and ends at the end of the next sunset.
In the Jewish calendar, a holiday begins on the sunset of the previous day, so observing Jews will celebrate Rosh Hashanah on the sunset of Wednesday, the 28th of September.
If you can, pop in on the live Kotel web cam to see the celebration. When the Rabbis Pray and the shofars blow, it touches your Soul. Truly amazing.
Following Rosh Hashanah will be Yom Kippur, The Day of Atonement.
Yom Kippur starts at sundown on Friday night 7 October, and lasts all day Saturday 8 October until sundown. This day marks the culmination of the Days of Awe, the period between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. The Day of Atonement is a time of repentance. It is spent praying and fasting.
There is a Slichot (Prayers of repentance) with many Rabbis, scheduled for the Kotel. On Thursday, October 6th at 11:30 p.m. a "central Slichot assembly" will take place at the Western Wall Plaza with many Rabbis.
This again, could be a awesome Service to witness :)
God Bless! :)
Just hoped to share, some fascinating information I came across years ago, about the shofar. :)
The shofar - a ram's horn - is the oldest wind instrument. And the sounding of the shofar is the most ancient rite in the Rosh Hashanah observances. The primitive and simple sound of the shofar spiritually touches people on Judaism's holy day of soul-searching, repentance and judgment.
Why is the Shofar Blown?
Sa'adiah Gaon gives ten reasons for sounding the shofar on Rosh Hashanah.
1.the shofar acknowledges God as King
2.the shofar stirs the conscience
3.the shofar reminds Jews of God's revelation at Sinai
4.the shofar reminds Jews of the Prophets' warnings
5.the shofar reminds Jews of the destruction of the Temple
6.the shofar reminds Jews of the ram Abraham sacrificed in place of his son Isaac
7.the shofar reminds Jews to feel humble before God
8.the shofar reminds Jews of the Day of Final Judgment
9.the shofar foreshadows the proclamation of freedom when the exiled will return to Israel
10.the shofar foreshadows the inauguration of God's reign of righteousness throughout the world
Who Hears the Shofar?
All those old enough to be educated regarding the mitzvah of hearing the shofar are obligated to hear the shofar on Rosh Hashanah. To fulfill the mitzvah, women may sound the shofar and say the blessing.
How is the Shofar Sounded?
It is customary to blow the shofar in synagogues in the same place where the Torah is read.
The person blowing the shofar (Ba'al Teki'ah) and all those listening should be instructed that they are listening to the shofar in order to fulfill God's commandment (mitzvah) to hearing the shofar on Rosh Hashanah.
Two blessings are recited before the Shofar is blown.
1.Baruch atah Adonai Eloheinu Melech Ha'Olam, asher kidishanu b'mitzvotav v'tzivanu leshoma kol shofar.
Blessed are You, Lord our God, King of the Universe, who has blessed us in his commandments and commanded us to hear the sound of the shofar.
2.Baruch atah Adonai Eloheinu Melech Ha'Olam, shehechiyanu v'kiyimanu v'higianu la'zman ha'zeh.
Blessed are You, Lord our God, King of the Universe, who has kept us alive, sustained us, and brought us to this season.
Once the blessings have been made, no one should speak until the end of the shofar blasts.
The shofar is blown somewhat like a trumpet. A total of 100 notes are sounded each day.
There are four different types of shofar notes:
1.tekiah - 3-second sustained note
2.shevarim - three 1-second notes rising in tone
3.teruah - series of short, staccato notes extending over a period of about 3 seconds
4.tekiah gedolah - the final blast in a set which lasts as long as the shofar blower can blow
When is the Shofar Blown?
The shofar is blown immediately after the haftara is read (30 blasts). During the cantor's repetition of the Amidah of Musaf, an additional 30 blasts of the shofar are sounded. At the conclusion of the prayer service, 40 extra blasts are sounded to make a total of 100 shofar blasts. It is customary for the final blast to be prolonged (Tekia Gedola).
God Bless!
Fascinating - thanks for that interesting information!
Hi Mrs. C~
Thank you for the link yesterday as well as the teachings of the Shofar. Your post was so nice to pull up for my daughter to look at. She was fascinated by the wall and the sounds of all the people gathering for prayer. I will be looking at that throughout the day.
I hope all has turned out well with your past issues and all the hard work you did to prepare your findings.
God Bless!!

Putin's [red] star on the rise again - "Prophet" portrays Putin as savior of Russia...
Coming out of the RCC & subsequently tracing their errors thru works like 'Roman Catholicism' [Lorraine Boettner], 'Two Babylons' [Alex Hislop], etc., I fully understand how they [Roman & Orthodox] are deceived in their theology, but I was floored by this one!!
Reading down thru the comments of both Russian & American Orthos is like reading right out of Rev.13; "Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him?"

Hi Sister GG, :)
Your more than welcome, its my privilege :) Sometimes…a lot of times…I would love for all of us to be in the same room to share His Word…fellowship…share in the excitement of these days. It’s a Blessing to share, and warms my heart greatly that you shared with your daughter the experience (though from a distance) of the Kotel. I know I mentioned it before, but several years back, there was an awesome Service there that left many of us who witnessed it online, in tears it was so beautiful! The Jewish People are our Elder Brothers and Sisters. Many of us were watching this Service live, and I remember we couldn’t figure out the exact reason for the Service. We had all watched the Rosh Hashanah celebrations on that site, but I believe this particular Service was after Rosh Hashanah.
There were thousands, I mean thousands of people there at this Service, and it was very late at night for their local time. We were amazed that sooooo many people fit in the area of the Kotel! They were shoulder to shoulder! Singing and Praying with Rabbis in perfect unison, all of course in Hebrew. What a Blessing! It was so powerful, all of us watching online were in tears!
Its well worth the time to pop in and out of the Kotel site to try and catch some of these Services. Have to keep in mind, they are 7 hours ahead of Eastern time. I believe, not sure, but as their camera is currently down, it may or may not remain that way until a final celebration at the end of Rosh Hashanah. This same Service we all previously saw, may be the one coming up at the Kotel, in October for the Slichot (Prayers of repentance). There are enough Rabbis mentioned to oversea the Service, and its at the right time 11:30pm local time, so Ill be watching for that one to see if the thousands show for that.
As far as what Ive been working on for a solid year now, we’re almost at the top of the hill on that. We have a lot to sort, put together, and then present to the two different authorities. Thank you so very much for your Prayers!
God Bless You Sis! :)
Interesting link DrNo...Thanks..>Digging in now
Yes Scott, Veeeerrry interesting indeed!
Since I don't believe in 'coincidentials' in 't'His universe, why did I 'happen' across that info??
Could it be, since we hear very little thru 'our' LSM about what 'political' winds are really blowing thru Russia...
Could it be that 'they' are indoctrinating, priming, and raising up another generational army for the final [E38] 'Catholic Crusade' against Israel??
