News From The Epicenter

The first 'article' is actually a very interesting video clip from Fox News (there are two consecutive video clips - both worth watching) which gives us an important update from the Middle East:

The next article is interesting in the context of the idea many of us have pondered for a while now - that is, the idea that Iran has been baiting Israel into an attack. Below, we see this idea seemingly confirmed by a 'senior' Iranian commander:

A senior Iranian commander says a possible Israeli airstrike against his country's nuclear facilities is "welcome" because it would give Iran a reason to retaliate and "get rid of" the Jewish state "forever."

The remarks by Gen. Amir Ali Hajizadeh, head of the Revolutionary Guard's air force, were reported Saturday by the official IRNA news agency.

Hajizadeh says in the event of an Israeli strike, Iran's response would be "swift, decisive and destructive." But he also claims Israeli threats of a strike are just part of a psychological war against Iran.

His comments are the latest in a war of words between the archenemies.

Israel considers Iran an existential threat because of its suspect nuclear program. Iran denies seeking atomic weapons, saying its uranium enrichment is for peaceful purposes only.

Not that it matters:

UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon sharply criticized Iran's supreme leader and president on Friday, describing their latest verbal attacks on Israel as "offensive and inflammatory."

Many thousands of Iranians shouted "Death to America, death to Israel" during state-organized protests on Friday and President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad told them there was no place for the Jewish state in a future Middle East.

"The Secretary-General is dismayed by the remarks threatening Israel's existence attributed over the last two days to the Supreme Leader and the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran," the UN press office said. "The Secretary-General condemns these offensive and inflammatory statements."

US Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney said Friday that the US "must lead the world in stopping Iran's genocidal regime from obtaining a nuclear weapons capability."

Romney's comments came after Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said Friday that Israel is a "tumor" that needs to be wiped out. The Republican presidential candidate reiterated remarks he made in a visit to Jerusalem in July, claiming: "We have seen the horrors of history. We will not stand by. We will not watch them play out again."

"Ahmadinejad’s latest outrageous remarks are just another reminder of what is at stake," Romney stated. The comments by Ahmadinejad came at a rally marking Al-Quds Day (Jerusalem Day), an annual anti-Zionist event calling for Palestinian liberation.

Thousands of Christians have fled Syria after being accused of supporting the Assad regime or observing a "Western religion." Church groups report that some believers have even been killed. Among those killed was Atallah Ibrahim Bitar, who was shot to death while taking food to people forced into hiding by a week-long bombardment, according to Christian aid workers. Most of the 10,000 Christian residents have left the area of Qusayr, near Homs, "after reportedly being given an ultimatum to leave, a threat which was also echoed by the mosques," according to aid workers in the region. Workers with another ministry described the city as "an extremely dangerous place for those who remain and it is clear that Christians no longer feel safe in their homes." According to a Dutch aid group, 90 percent of Christians living in Homs fled after "fanatics" forced them to leave their homes. An estimated 50,000 people have fled Homs since February. Remember - we have been told repeatedly by the MSM that the Muslim Brotherhood is a "moderate" group. Also don't forget, the U.S. administration is actively supporting the Muslim Brotherhood:

As the Muslim Brotherhood continues to solidify its ever-expanding power in Egypt, several Arabic news agencies — including Arab News, Al Khabar News, Dostor Watany and Egypt Now — are reporting that opponents of the Muslim Brotherhood were “crucified” in Egypt last week

A Sky News Arabic correspondent in Cairo confirmed that protestors belonging to the Muslim Brotherhood crucified those opposing Egyptian President Muhammad Morsi naked on trees in front of the presidential palace while abusing others. Likewise, Muslim Brotherhood supporters locked the doors of the media production facilities of 6-October [a major media region in Cairo], where they proceeded to attack several popular journalists.

El Balad adds that the supporters of Tawfik Okasha, another vocal critic of President Morsi—the one who widely disseminated the graphic video of a Muslim apostate being slaughtered to cries of “Allahu Akbar”—gathered around the presidential palace, only to be surrounded by Brotherhood supporters, who “attacked them with sticks, knives, and Molotov cocktails, crucifying some of them on trees, leading to the deaths of two and the wounding of dozens.”

Far from condemning these terrorists, Al Azhar, Egypt’s most authoritative Islamic institution, has just issued a fatwa calling for more violence and oppression, saying that “fighting participants in anti-Muslim Brotherhood demonstrations planned for 24 August is a religious obligation.”

media with “painful an

Additionally, “Militant Muslims crucifying their opponents is a regular feature of the Islamic world–recent cases coming form the Ivory Coast, where two Christian brothers were crucified, similarly by supporters of a Muslim president who ousted a Christian; Indonesia, where Islamic separatists crucified a fellow Muslim for being a military informant; and in Iraq, where Muslim militants crucified Christian children.”

According to Koran, crucifixion is proper punishment for anyone who “makes mischief in the land.”

“The punishment of those who wage war against Allah and His messenger and strive to make mischief in the land is only this: that they should be murdered or crucified or their hands and their feet should be cut off…” (Koran 5:33).

It may also be important to note that an Egyptian MP recently proposed to institutionalize Sharia’s most brutal punishments— including crucifixion.

“In short, under the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt, the bottle has been uncorked and the Islamic Genie set loose. Expect much worse to come,” Ibrahim concludes.

The article below most definitely fits into the category of "take it with a grain of salt" and the usual disclaimers are in effect (remember - we cast a 'wide net' in efforts to get to the truth, in the midst of massive mis-information, distortions of the truth, etc., and we have to use the discernment of the Holy Spirit and common sense in reading news from around the world). We are also in the last days, however, and almost anything is possible. With that, we see the following:

New DHS Informant piece: Scott, you're right about the grain of salt. Why would an Investment Broker want to publish news like this? To get people to invest in gold? I don't get it - why would anyone even care about investments if the US is so severely compromised already? James 5:3 "Your gold and silver have corroded, and their corrosion will be evidence against you and will eat your flesh like fire. You have laid up treasure in the last days." I am not following the logic here...

Scott said...

Again, I believe the disclaimers address your comments. In addition, these days there is no 'apparent' logic to anything.

Is the Syrian civil war 'logical'?

Is it 'logical' for the EU and US to print massive amounts of money while raising taxes in an economic depression?

Is the U.S. support of the Muslim Brotherhood and the so-called "Arab Spring" 'logical'?

Is the use to QE2 money funneled to European banks "logical"?

Are Iran's actions "logical"?

Is the US dependency on foreign oil "logical", given that the US has more oil and gas reserves underground than ANY region in the world "logical"?

Is the Arab world's hatred of Israel "logical"?

Are Suicide Bombings "logical"//

I could go on and on for days on this theme. The poiont is - NOTHING is "logical" right now - thats why we have to take a look at everything and use the discernment of the Holy Spirit to guide us.

And I believe I mentioned that the world is full of mis-information lies and distortions - yet we need to have our eyes open and looking at what is in the world right now.

The article brings back to my mind the fact that last spring (I believe) American military personnel were in joint training with Russian military in Colorado. Talk about illogical!

This is the time of the end, and Satan has been cast down to the earth. He knows his time is short, and he is going to use it to create as much pain, suffering, and chaos as possible. He has the power to do it, and will create so much confusion as will totally baffle world leaders. In other words, he will try to make our remaining time here as horrible as possible. Pray for the quick return of our Lord! Your kingdom come!

I agree with the grain of salt....however, I know of multiple sources, that seem to be very credible (many military sources), that confirm the fact that foreign military and UN forces are stationed across the nation, and moreover, for something that seems to be happening very, very soon.

I am one to never proclaim anything as fact, or even provide a link until I can say 99% for sure it can be backed up....thats why I never bring it up much anywhere. But when so many places and sources are showing the same results and military action going on, a prudent person will take notice, even if to just be prepared.

I would say, at this point in time, apart from the obviously over-the-top sources, that this kind of news be something we need to be aware of and discern with prayer and guidance from the Holy Spirit.

Its not easy, cus there's a lot of crap out there!! ;)

In my heart i dont believe we will be here when it hits the fan....just another reason I believe we are unbelievable close to going home!

I have a question, could persecution in syria be good for Christians there? a.christians face serious persecution so b.Christians flee syria then c.Syria is destroyed. could persecution be used by God to remove the Christians before judgement?

I'm fascinated by your comment and wanted to know if you could expound on that if Scott would be so kind as to allow that.

The reason for asking is , over the past five months the Lord has been leading many of us to the first "WOE " in Revelation 9 and have noted that all over the world believers are aware that we have entered into a new " phase" of spiritual warfare. The groaning in our spirit is at times unbearable but praise God we overcome by the Blood of the Lamb and love not our lives till death.

Douglas I am not sure he is cast out just yet ( ? )as I reflect on his once and for all " expulsion " seems to cause an " event " when there is war in heaven as Michael casts him out- in Isaiah 14- How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! [how] art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!

They that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee, [and] consider thee, [saying, Is] this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms;

Isa 14:17 — That made the world as a wilderness, and destroyed the cities thereof; that opened not the house of his prisoners?

The evil we are now " feeling" seems to be a foreshadowing of what is yet to come.

I look forward to your comment.

Hart...good observation...geez...I hope you all are right...we all want our Lord to come ASAP!

hartdawg, That is an excellent point....and question.

Perhaps someone with more knowledge than I is going to show me the error of my thinking here but....

Wouldn't that be just like the Lord....the efforts or threat to torture and kill Christians drive them out of the land that is later destroyed in Israel's retaliation.

As for timing, it seems things could go at any time but.....
It still seems like late Sept at the earliest to me and possibly early next year.

As for the election, I think the fix is in....the vote is irrelevant with Sorous controlling the Spanish company that is gong to be doing the tabulating.

The bible tells us the end days would be totally turned inside our and inverted....good would be evil and evil good. That's exactly what we have right now. As Scott's post showed, its gone from dumb, to dumber, to dumbest.

I used to think there ain't no cure for stupid...its a lifetime thing. But this is blindness, spiritual blindness...and there IS a cure.

Scott said...

I agree Caver and Hart - that is a VERY interesting idea - that persecution could drive them away from an area facing imminent destruction. Very interesting indeed. I hadn't considered that before.

In answer to Hisown1.
I may have been overzealous with my comment that Satan had been cast to earth. I had thought that this was the case because of the turmoil and persecution of Christians worldwide. Your comment made me re-examine my beliefs and after much study and prayer I find that I no longer think that is the case. Please excuse my mistake.

Hi Douglas,

Its sometimes humbling studying His word. We've ALL eaten a few slices of that humble pie. :)

Thanks Caver
I have been corrected more times than I can shake a stick at. It's all worth it, when we get to meet our Lord, and all the friends we'll have made, including this group right here. May God bless you all.

My brother sent me this video link-- says in many ways this is inline with our father's dream from back in the '70's
It's by Rick Wiles, not sure of his website, but as Scott often says it might have some merit.

Douglas please don't apologize brother, you have blessed me by your humility and very fine discernment.

It's as if we are standing on the brink of the soon devastating blow and what we are sensing seems to be the Lord's " heads-up" call :)

Thank-you Scott for allowing the body to freely share. We may not have that privilege for much longer here.

I pray that we all come to the " unity" of the faith pretty soon here.

Douglas....in one sense you are correct. these are the last days and satan is indeed "alive and well on planet earth" as hal lindsey says and he's stepping up his activities. in the other sense satan defacto is cast out of heaven on the earth 1/2 way thru the tribulation period....WOE TO THOSE ON EARTH DURING THAT TIMES!!!!!

Ann Marie said...

Stephen,
As I recall my father's dream was in 1974- it was very vivid, I did not say it was WWIII, but that he dreamt of a black president giving a speech in Washington DC and behind him you could see a map of the US filled with what appeared to be fires or nuclear type explosions. We still have the current pres until mid Jan, so who knows, but so many things seem to be leaning towards something significant.

Hisown1 : Thats something I have been thinking about a lot lately - how much longer we;ll have this freedom...The good news is - if sites like this get taken away, then IMO the end isn't far away at all. We'll all get 'caught up' in New Jerusalem :)

Thank-you for your grace Scott.

I personally believe we are going to have to endure some difficult persecutions just around the corner here pretty soon yet the Lord assures me that His own know Him and they refuse to follow the voice of strangers :)

The most reassuring thing for me lately is to witness how the Holy Spirit is affirming these things to the body in ways that just boggle my mind. Seriously how does one even begin to explain that to the " carnal" mind.

I love how the Holy Spirit has promised to lead us into all truth and as the days grow darker we need to ensure it is His voice alone we are obeying :)

Blessings,

Agree very much with this thought. About 6 months ago was given a "heads-up" by a Brother that is "In The Inside" that to stay informed when it gets bad I need to....
1. Get an old Police Scanner
2. Get an old fashion CB radio
3. Get a Ham radio and antenna
4. Get a Short Wave receiver
5. Get some working Walkie Talkies

Was able to find everything used and for about $150. Am in the process of setting up a complete communication center. If I want to add transmit to the receive ability, it will probably take another $150 and a Ham license....but not sure I even want to do that.

He is in a position to "know" some of what the insiders in DC are thinking/planning. Their expectation and fear is that a horde of previously outdated communication means are going to spring up and it will be impossible to stop in short order

Scott said...

Well-stated Hisown :) - I agree

Caver - interesting list...So you can get a ham radio and be a 'receiver' (only) w/o having to have a license?

Hmmmm.....
