First, looking to the EU, we are seeing more and more evidence that the whole financial "system" imposed by the EU is crumbling. There was a lot of information about this over the course of the summer, and now its simmering again.
This is interesting prophetically, because we know from Daniel 2 that the new Roman Empire would be consist of weak alliances ("...a divided kingdom...so the people will be a mixture and will not remain united..." Daniel 2:39-43).
We also know from Daniel 7 and Revelation 17 that the new Roman Empire will morph into 10 Kings - with this latter stage producing the antichrist and ruling with the antichrist. So any big changes in the EU are of great interest:
Van Rompuy warns EU is in 'survival crisis'
EU Council President Herman Van Rompuy has warned that the eurozone and the European Union itself are fighting for their life as a result of the ongoing sovereign debt shocks, most recently in Ireland and Portugal.
"We're in a survival crisis," the president told an event at a Brussels think-tank on Tuesday morning (16 November) ahead of a meeting of finance ministers from countries that use the euro, where it is expected that they will interrogate Ireland and Portugal over the state of government finances
Mr Van Rompuy warned that if the eurozone does not survive, neither will the EU.
"We all have to work together in order to survive with the eurozone, because if we don't survive with the euro zone we will not survive with the European Union," he said.
EU economic affairs chief Olli Rehn later told reporters that Ireland is now in talks with the European Commission, the European Central Bank and the International Monetary Fund over its ongoing debt crisis.
But this "crisis" isn't limited to the EU:
The World Economy Flounders
A headline in the Financial Times on the 11th of November signaled an ominous note for the rest of the world and the United States. It read, "China Inflation Surges to 25-month High." Consumer price inflation increased at an annualized rate of 12.1% in October, up from 5.2% the month before.
Among the byproducts of the recently announced quantitative easing by the Federal Reserve is not only the devaluation of the dollar, but also the potential massive inflow of dollars into developing economies such as China, Malaysia, and Brazil which would exacerbate the inflationary spiral.
Interest rates will rise soon, as it is now being reported that China will introduce measures to control rising food prices (a potential catastrophe in a country of 1.4 billion people). South Korea has announced that they too will be raising interest rates in order to combat inflation. Many other countries will soon have to revert to this same option. This rise in rates will necessitate stringent measures to control capital inflows with the world awash in U.S. dollars.
The next quote ties into the first article (above), regarding the EU:
Ireland is being pressured to accept a bailout in order to stabilize the bond markets, and Portugal is indicating that it will require a bailout in order to meet its needs. Greece continues to lag behind in its austerity budget and is again facing higher interest expenses.
The potential rippling costs of these bailouts may well exceed the 440-billion-euro rescue fund set up over the past year to handle these crises. If so, then the rest of Europe and particularly Germany will be faced with the reality that the European Union concept is dead, and this financial crisis will trigger another massive global recession.
Of course, we may not only be watching the EU in the process of morphing into the "10 Kings" stage, we are also watching what is perceived as a "world financial crisis", which could easily precipitate a formal single currency and further push the concept of a "global economy", which would require a global governance.
As a part of this, we see a growing concern about world food supplies and a "food inflation nightmare":
The Food Inflation Nightmare Is About To Hit 40% Of The World's Population
Overnight, the threat of further Chinese tightening multiplied as a result of food price inflation. A basket of 18 key vegetables saw their prices increase by 62.4%, year-over-year, in the first 10 days of November.
But this isn't just a Chinese problem. 40% of the world's population, found in China, India, and Brazil, is seeing their food prices skyrocket as a result of price inflation.
First Health Care, Next the Food Supply
Just because the duck is lame doesn't mean it can't still do terrible damage to American freedom. Our new Congress, especially the new House, isn't yet seated, and this current Congress can still wreak terrible havoc on our rights if not stopped.
Case in point: Senate Bill 510, believed to be coming to the floor Wednesday, November 17 (pending).
Reading the thing will make your head hurt for all its cognitive dissonance. Trying to winnow out its complexity and hidden empowerments is stultifying.
Under the rubric of safety, this Senate proposes a bill that establishes such new and sweeping powers over how you and I produce and consume foodstuffs that even the Pew Charitable Trusts are calling S510 a clear and present danger. National Health Freedom says,
It is a dangerously broad regulatory bill giving extensive discretionary power to the FDA over the entire food supply chain without proper checks and balances to avoid abuse of power;
It would impose one-size-fits-all-regulations on thousands of small and mid-sized farmers, small-scale local farms and food producers, and would drastically burden, to extinction, basic natural and organic food suppliers, thus endangering the lives of Americans who depend on local wholesome foods;
It gets worse:
S510 puts all U.S. food production under the control of the Department of Homeland Security. And the Department of Defense.
You may be disposed to embrace a genetically modified, enhanced, and altered food chain, but for those of us who eat our foods unadulterated, raised naturally, and without benefit of the federal government mandating what we can and can't eat, S510 is one more giant step toward consolidating total power over the lives of free citizens.
It is standardization on a scale never seen. Remember Ireland and its potato famine. That's what standardization accomplishes. One bug killed an entire economy.
This bill constitutes some of the worst of the worst of corporatist policies favored by the political class controlling our federal government. Conservatives must rebel at any sign of government intrusion into our private affairs, and criminalizing private food production is as wrong as it gets.
If implemented, S510 can define as a crime to clean, store, and own seeds or seed stocks unless granted that right by the federal government. Think you'll be granted that "right" when arguing against Monsanto's lawyers?
Its House companion Bill, HR 2749, empowers federal bureaucracies to totally prohibit the movement of any and all foods into or out of a given area (Section 133b, "Authority to Prohibit or Restrict the Movement of Food," sponsored by Congressman Dingell). Sure, sure, the idea may be to prevent the spread of dangerous foods, but once the camel's nose is under the tent, you know what can happen.
These articles just represent more and more government control over our daily lives, this time reaching into private farms, and even the family garden.
At the same time, we see a growing world food production problem and famine continues to spread.
We also see the EU facing its own crises, and the weak alliances are showing signs of not remaining united, exactly as biblical prophecy would predict. How long before we start to see the emergence of the "10 Kings"?
All of this sounds ominously like the world that has been described in the book of Revelation - Chapters 6-18 - which detail various events during the Tribulation.
We're moving in that direction rapidly. Very rapidly.
