Sunday Evening in Israel: More Attacks

This is starting to get redundant - another afternoon into evening and we see more rockets being fired into Israel. Some "ceasefire". Additionally, we can see that the mood over in Egypt is predictably against Israel and the military seems to want to please the crowd based upon their recent and more threatening rhetoric.

Escalation in pictures: Photos from the South

The link above contains some photos of the death and destruction brought about by the terrorist's rocket fire.

Gaza Fires 3 Grad Rockets, 3 Mortar Shells

Gaza terrorist squads fired three Grad medium-range missiles and three mortar shells into Israeli territory Sunday evening. The rockets and shells exploded in open areas within the Eshkol and Hof Ashkelon local authorities.

You almost have to laugh at this last statement in the article:

Hamas said later in the day that it had agreed with other factions on a cease fire. The ceasefire was supposed to begin in the evening but it wound up lasting about 20 minutes.

How predictable was that?

Speaking of predictable - just take a look at this article/video, as we see demonstrations in Egypt are very active and very much directed against Israel. The sad part is, the Egyptian military seemingly wants to appease the demonstrators:

Video: Angry Egyptians Break into Israeli Embassy Compound

More than 2,000 angry Egyptians broke down barriers at Israel’s embassy in Cairo, burned Israeli flags and raised the Egyptian flag, backing up demands by the provisional military government’s cabinet that Egypt expel Israel’s ambassador.

Egyptian police outside the embassy did not try to prevent the crowd from pulling down the Israeli flag from the embassy.

Egypt has summoned the Israeli ambassador and said it is not enough for Israel to apologize. The regime’s cabinet said, “Egypt lays on Israel the political and legal responsibility for this incident, which constitutes a breach of the peace treaty between Egypt and Israel.”

Its foreign ministry stated, “Egypt denounces the use of force against civilians in any circumstance and strongly advises Israel to immediately stop its military operations against Gaza.”

Several eyewitnesses to Thursday’s attack said it appeared to them that Egyptian soldiers fired on Israelis, but this has not been confirmed by military officials. However, one of the terrorist attacks began under the noses of Egyptian soldiers in an observation post adjacent to the Israeli border.

We need to be watching this situation in Israel very closely, but we also need to keep one eye on Egypt and their demonstrations - as the demonstrations may lead to an increase in anti-Israeli rhetoric and actions. The situation between Israel and Egypt is far from over at this point.

We also need to watch Syria very closely right now. It would be completely predictable to see them getting involved in this violence against Israel - and thus create a diversion from their internal problems by causing a disturbance of some sort in or near the Golan Heights. The time may be ripe for their desperate government to get involved now that tensions are increasing so rapidly in the region.

There is a lot to watch in the Middle East - after all, we know it is a powder keg just waiting to explode.

Does this have something to do with the national TV video of the seemingly supernatural "pale" greenish horse and rider seen back (in Feb.,I think) during the riots and demonstrations in Egypt ? Was that real, or a hologram ? Or? (either way, it was a sort of witness for unbelieving friends, who were stumped.) Diane

I remember seeing that bizarre photo. Who knows - I suppose it was an artifact of some sort, but it was an interesting pic.

Hello Diane

It was not 'real'; it was a reflection from the fire onto the lense of the camera which turns the reflection upside down. The colours are from opposite sides of the light spectrum - the human mind fills in the blanks; no different to seeing Jesus on a piece of toast or elephants in the clouds. It 'moved' as the lense altered and as the cameraman spanned the crowd.

God bless.

Hi Folk, slight hijacking here....

Watching the replay on GBTV of his introductory show....Restoring Courage from the amphitheater built by Herold in Caesarea, Israel.

There are thousands there.....65% Christians, 30% Jews, 5% other. Today's show is Part 1 of 4 rallies for Israel and is entitled Love.

Just Wow at the number of Israel supporters that traveled from the USA and 80 others countries, and Glen Beck ....they are sitting targets in the open during these troubled times....all there to support reestablishment of biblical values and show solidarity for Israel.

OK, back to your regularly scheduled blog.....

Do you have to pay for that site or is it free?
I could see that there was a pay aspect to the site but I couldn't tell if that was for 'extras' (?) or of the whole site requited $...

Caver said...

Scott, it is pay, $4.95 or $9.95/month. He's put his and his staff's entire fortune on the line to do this.

It's an internet based HD show that can be viewed on TV. He has no advertisers that can affect or tone down his message. Its all paid by subscribers at the fee mentioned above. He is starting to expose all the mess we have been talking about on the blog and privately. I can't say enough for it. It doesn't officially launch until about mid Sept but there is a ton of content there and all daily shows can be played later as "on demand" shows.

GBTV breaks new ground with this technology, its never been done before. There is no sacred political cows and nothing off limits with the show.

It sounds interesting. But it is available now, despite the fact that it doesn't officially launch till mid-sept?

Caver said...

Yup, watching the "Restoring Courage" from Israel now. It won't be all day programing until mid Sept.:)

I have to do my "Mr.T" impression now:

"I pity the fool that has his anniversary after September 2011!!"

Er uh.....DrNo......Wasn't you that was calling me the "old guy" (or something to that effect) the other day???

If my calculations are correct....if you have been married 40 years (assuming you weren't married at the age of 14 or less) - then, er uh umm....ahem.....that would put you in an "older" category than yours truly....just sayin :) :)

Congrats WV!

DrNo.....congratulations to you and the Mrs! Wow, that be a bunch of years.

I wuz a little bit apprehensive about divulging that "information" as that narrows it down to less than a million people who got married that day, and that gets too close for comfort towards revealing my "real" identity!

I feel the walls closing in around me now...

Oh well, the local camp phee mah [as Ally likes to call it] prolly already has my mug-shot and a cozy metal slab to sleep on...

Speaking of Ally, did she say she was going somewhere, or being dragged off somewhere??

Thanks to all! God is so good...

Reference Ally, I think...think being the operative word...that she had hit a rough patch and only had access to a computer occasionally. I suspect prayer would be appreciated. She sounded in good spirits but having it a little rough right now if memory serves.
