Un Recognizes "Palestine" - Now What?

First we take a look at the vote:

As expected, the United Nations passed a resolution on Thursday evening recognizing Palestine as a non-member observer state.
138 countries voted in favor of the resolution, nine countries voted against it, and 41 countries abstained.

Shortly before the vote, Palestinian Authority (PA) Head Mahmoud Abbas addressed the United Nations Thursday, in his bid to gain recognition for the PA as a non-member observer state. This status has only been accorded to the Vatican until now.
As usual, Abbas did not condemn the rocket fire by Gaza terrorists on southern Israel.

"Palestine comes today to the General Assembly because it believes in peace and because its people, as proven in past days, are in desperate need of it,” he said, insisting that recognizing “Palestine” as a non-member observer state is “the last chance to save the two-state solution."

"We have heard and you too have heard specifically over the past months the incessant flood of Israeli threats in response to our peaceful, political and diplomatic endeavor for Palestine to acquire non-member observer state in the United Nations,” said Abbas. “And, you have surely witnessed how some of these threats have been carried out in a barbaric and horrific manner just days ago in the Gaza Strip.

That doesn't sound too 'peaceful' to me. Especially coming from someone who ostensibly calls for peace.

We've already seen how "Palestine" will now call on the ICC to place various Israeli officials in front of the court - an action that would create a vast array of (inappropriate) problems and difficulties for Israel. Additionally, the 'Palestinian'  hope from this new ICC threat will be that any action taken by Israel in self-defense, such as the recent Gaza conflict - would be reason for a kangaroo court to ensue and place Israel's leaders in a precarious position.

Even worse, and this too is entirely predictable - the indefensible 'pre-1967' borders will be called for, and indeed that is the case as well:

"We will accept no less than the independence of the state of Palestine, with east Jerusalem as its capital, on all the Palestinian territory occupied in 1967, to live in peace and security alongside the state of Israel, and a solution for the refugee issue on the basis of resolution 194, as per the operative part of the Arab Peace Initiative,” he stressed.

But diplomats and observers believe it will mark a dramatic turning point in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict-cum-peace process of the past 20 years.

Rather, the PA will choose the more palatable option domestically and escalate the international legal challenges to Israel’s policies — and, rhetorically at least, to its very nature and existence — by joining the International Criminal Court and appealing for ICC investigations of Israeli officials and officers.

...former PA foreign minister and current top negotiator Nabil Shaath, who told a Hamas rally in Gaza a week ago, “When you shout that you are marching toward Jerusalem, well this is exactly what your victory is doing. It is defending Jerusalem and Palestine in its entirety by all means of resistance — by armed resistance, by political resistance, by going to the UN, by solidarity — by all forms of confrontation with the enemy occupying our land.”

Indeed, the question of whether the PA needs to actively apply to the ICC may be academic, as a statement in September by ICC prosecutor Fatou Bensouda suggested that the court may gain jurisdiction over the Israeli-Palestinian conflict automatically through the General Assembly’s recognition of Palestine as a state.
"What we have also done is to leave the door open, and to say that if Palestine is able to pass over that hurdle [of statehood] — of course, under the [UN] General Assembly — then we will revisit what the ICC can do,” Bensouda told a Council on Foreign Relations event in Washington.

This development is not only predictable, but highly consistent with biblical prophecy - as we watch Israel's land divided and we see the world aligning against Israel. The stage continues to be set for the inevitable conclusions. Don't forget, God is placing Israel in such a position that they will only be able to call on Him for their assistance as 'the nations' turn their backs on Israel.

All according to plan.

Gods Judgement is coming to them..."vengeance"..."despiteful heart"..."old hatred"...His Word describes them to a T. As Brother Zola used to say, these nations surrounding Israel have the same recycled hatred and evil that has carried through centuries. Only now, it is coming to a peak, just as God has Planned it. They will be utterly destroyed by Him...

Ezekiel 25:15-17

15 Thus saith the Lord God; Because the Philistines have dealt by revenge, and have taken vengeance with a despiteful heart, to destroy it for the old hatred;

16 Therefore thus saith the Lord God; Behold, I will stretch out mine hand upon the Philistines, and I will cut off the Cherethims, and destroy the remnant of the sea coast.

17 And I will execute great vengeance upon them with furious rebukes; and they shall know that I am the Lord, when I shall lay my vengeance upon them.

also in His Word there is Zephaniah 2...

Another Holy Spirit moment here Brothers and Sisters...please bear with me...

Zephaniah 2:4-9
4 For Gaza shall be forsaken, and Ashkelon a desolation: they shall drive out Ashdod at the noon day, and Ekron shall be rooted up.

5 Woe unto the inhabitants of the sea coast, the nation of the Cherethites! the word of the Lord is against you; O Canaan, the land of the Philistines, I will even destroy thee, that there shall be no inhabitant.

6 And the sea coast shall be dwellings and cottages for shepherds, and folds for flocks.

7 And the coast shall be for the remnant of the house of Judah; they shall feed thereupon: in the houses of Ashkelon shall they lie down in the evening: for the Lord their God shall visit them, and turn away their captivity.

8 I have heard the reproach of Moab, and the revilings of the children of Ammon, whereby they have reproached my people, and magnified themselves against their border.

9 Therefore as I live, saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, Surely Moab shall be as Sodom, and the children of Ammon as Gomorrah, even the breeding of nettles, and saltpits, and a perpetual desolation: the residue of my people shall spoil them, and the remnant of my people shall possess them.

Just a portion of this Chapter. Whew, wouldnt want to be in ANY of these surrounding nations. We see Gaza, again, but "Moab" and "Ammon" is Jordan. Not only do we see Gods Word speak of Jordan going down, partial land returned to Israel in Isaiah 17:2, but OH MY, lets look at Verse 9! in regards to Jordan - "and the remnant of my people shall possess them."

"THE REMNANT OF MY PEOPLE SHALL POSSESS THEM" . WOW!!! Revelation 12, tells us that that "THE REMNANT" of His People, the Jewish Believers shall flee the ac at the Mid-Trib and shall be protected by Him, in JORDAN. WOW!

ok...please forgive me...going back to lying down...

Hi Mrs. C-

I hope you get to feeling better. I watched much of it earlier and that statement from the representative of Israel had me giving him great applauds. :)

Not sure how the peace and security statements apply to this time in our prophecy walk, but it was so erie to listen to many nations for quite a while and those words kept coming up in their speeches.

It is a passionate time regarding all of this. Thank you and everyone who contributes humbly on the site for teaching me how it all fits together in these last days. I humbly can see how many are missing it if they don't understand the timing, the translations, and how Gods word applies to today's events.

God Bless!!

I thought that this event was a very, very, important story. I thought that the network news in the U.S. would of began with this breaking news. Instead, it was pushed to the side. At the time that I 'm writing this, I don 't think that even Drudge is reporting this story?

Do you think the Obama people knew this vote was going to be almost overwelmingly yes. So they played the "we are appalled and stand with Israel card" for political points...? I cannot believe they were telling the truth of how they really feel about this.

Scott said...

Mrs C - do you see this destruction referenced above in the scriptures as happening at the time of Isaiah 17 or separately?

Mrs.C said...

Hi Brother Scott, :)
Yes, I see it happening at the time of Isaiah 17. I also believe that His Judgements against, Jordan, Egypt, Lebanon and Gaza that God has Ezekiel devotes 8 Chapters to (Chapters 25-32) will occur at the time of the Isaiah 17 war.

At the end of this horrendous, horrendous war, Gods People Israel are barely surviving, having suffered immense death and destruction. "Desolation" God says, and He says why He allows it to happen. God has to step in at the end, when these evil enemy nations surrounding Israel "rush in" like "mighty waters" to finish off Israel.
God will "rebuke" these nations at that moment. He is answering the imprecatory Prayer of Psalm 83. Damascus, Jordan, then the West Bank, all go, in Verses 1-3. Israel is winning, even taking some Syrian's captive as God would have it.
Then something unimaginable happens to Israel, and they suffer immensely, almost to the point of being wiped out completely. This is when God Himself steps forward, the beginning of His Return to His People, and "rebukes" these evil nations.

With all of the thousands upon thousands of dead, and unbelievable destruction, involving multiple nations. Gods rebuke, will not be fully noticed as being done by Him by the world.

For example in Ezekiel Chapters 25-32, Tyre, Lebanon ends up underwater, in the deep abyss, never to be found again according to Gods Judgement. That alone is unimaginable, but at the same time the Judgments against the other nations will occur with this "rebuke". The world will not attribute these happenings to God, but right them off probably as natural disasters etc. We know this is not the time for God to step out in the open, that will come with the quickly following Ezekiel 38 war/invasion, when He fully restores His Covenant with His People...Psalm 83 was Prayed...and with Isaiah 17, God Answered...

Hi Sister GG, :)
You are the best Sis! Thanks Sis, trying to feel better. Would like to have seen it on TV, but ours is in quarantine...:(
It is beyond words, what a true Blessing it is for all of us dear Sis, to Witness His Word full filled before us...since the beginning of all time, He knew each one of us by name, while in our mothers womb. He has great confidence in each one of us, to allow us the pure privilege, of being born into this generation at the edge of all time...WOW! how incredibly humbling is that!

God Bless You Dear Sis!

Hi Mrs. C-

Here is the link from today. I am not sure if you got to see these as of yet. The ones from earlier and with the rep from Israel is in the third row..4th one over :)

Jill..not sure who is telling a sad version of the truth when it comes to the U.S. and all this. I noticed Mr.
President of the U.N. gave his opening speech as
supposedly neutral, then he clapped so much for Abbas. Then the gentleman from Israel spoke(sorry his name escapes me) and he held of clapping and at the end gave a light fluffy type of clap. That stood out with me greatly.

I do think Bibi has planned ahead for all these twists and turns and it seems like anytime the missiles will be soaring again. Abbas is too puffed up and I just sense from the others speech they want him to not add to this like some great leap but to get back to the table and talk very quickly. Time will tell for sure.

God Bless!!

Yea, I agree with that. I have always thought that the destruction that hits Israel and caused the desolation of northern Israel could be chemical weapons used by some combination of Hezbollah, Syria. etc....Just a hunch on my part - we shall see (or maybe not :)

I find it interesting too ( Thanks for the Scriptures Mrs.c) thst the PA wants and insists on pre 1967 bordres. One thing Iread this week In Footsteps of the Messiah was that the 1967 war was crucial to fulfill thge prophecy of Gog and magog war. They come down on the mountains of ISRAEL, before the 1967 war they did not possess the mountains..

Hi everyone,
I just read that this decision made a defacto Palestinian State. I guess I am wondering what that means literally. Does it mean in name only? I would appreciate your thoughts on this one.

Hello everyone,

I don't know what this means in terms for Israel, other than war crimes charges being brought. I do know this. At some point, and I feel very soon, netanyahu is going to have to!!!!!! Have to, make a decision in Israels best interest. No one else is going to. He's going to have to come to a point when he says it doesn't matter politically, socially, internationally, or economically, Israel is going to have to stop those who seek to destroy her as a nation. Either that or do nothing and hope UN sanctions work. What ever he chooses is unavoidable. Pray for the leaders of Israel to seek God's will, an then be obedient!
