But that doesn't always diminish the deep sense of foreboding so many of us have, while in the face of this coming storm. We are seeing all signs of the growing totalitarian government that is coming, not only to America and the EU, but to the entire world. There are so many parallels in today's world, as compared to the early days of Nazi Germany (see "Night Of The Long Knives, Part I & 2), it is highly disturbing to contemplate. And this is just one sign of so many, signs which include the earth signs (earthquakes, etc.), the ravages of war, economic collapse, severe, brutal persecution, terrorism, marxism, radical Islam, WMDs, chemical war threats, EMP threats, enslavement, famine, disease, and so may more. There is absolutely no denying that the world is just on the cusp of entering the darkest of days - the worst period in human history since the beginning of creation - and this comes from Jesus Himself, as He described the tribulation period in Matthew 24.
However, the good news is the fact that the Bible gives us exactly what we need during these ominous times, and gives us much needed perspective:

Thank you Scott, for your faithfulness to keep the "watching" community updated on a daily basis. There are some days that I just can't comprehend all that is going on in this changing world, so I tune out for a day or so - but not so for you! It must be a stressful job at times.
These scriptures you listed are very encouraging! I especially like Isaiah 41:10, with it's first admonition, "do not fear". Fear is a natural response to the signs we see. We have to actively chose not to fear by standing on the truth of God's holy and righteous word.
I also find myself speculating on what the future holds. We all probably came away with something a little different from the election last week. I was really hoping that God would give us more "time". I was reminded recently of how much light this nation has been given in the form of Bibles, Bible teaching, Christian churches, Christian colleges, freedom of religion, worship, sharing our faith, etc. I thought of the parable in Luke 16 about Lazarus and the rich young ruler. The rich young ruler wanted Abraham to send Lazarus to warn his five brothers about the reality of hell. The response given by Abraham was that "even if someone were to be raised from the dead they would not listen...they (brothers) have Moses and the prophets and yet would not listen to them".
Such is the state I see our nation in. We have more available "truth" than just about anyone, anywhere. It appears that God has just about had enough with our unbelief as a nation. However, come what may, Jesus will take care of us as the scriptures you listed prove.
Thank you Brother Scott for the comforting Scriptures! Nothing in this entire Universe could even begin to separate us from His Love!
