Perspective on the Earthquake:

This from Joel Rosenberg, who provides an appropriate perspective on recent events:

Apocalyptic Earthquake, Tsunami Hit Japan

The Lord Jesus said that in the last days….
“there will be great earthquakes, and in various places plagues and famines; and there will be terrors and great signs from heaven….There will be signs in sun and moon and stars, and on the earth dismay among nations, in perplexity at the roaring of the sea and the waves, men fainting from fear and the expectation of the things which are coming upon the world; for the powers of the heavens will be shaken.” (Luke 21:11,25,26)

“For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.” (Romans 8:22, KJV)

Today’s apocalyptic earthquake and subsequent tsunami in Japan reminded us yet again that the earth is groaning and we are, in fact, living in the last days before the return of Christ. The horrific disaster, whose proportions we are only beginning to understand, has already killed more than 1,000 people and left millions without power, food, or fresh water. Please be praying for the people of Japan for the Lord to comfort them and draw them close to His heart.

Please pray for the followers of Jesus Christ in Japan and throughout Asia to help their brothers and sisters and help those who need practical assistance as well as Christ’s promise of unconditional love and forgiveness. Pray, too, that people all over the world will realize that the Lord is trying to get our attention to turn back to Him and prayer for the Day of the Lord, which is coming soon.

My prayers have been similar - that somehow, someway, this epic event can bring people of the world, including Japan closer to Christ, or perhaps taking a deeper look at the world and seeking Christ as a result. Obviously we also pray for the people of Japan and that they can receive relief from their pain and suffering.

But Mr Rosenberg provides the central element always worth remembering during periods like this - when we observe an increase in birth pains:

Today’s apocalyptic earthquake and subsequent tsunami in Japan reminded us yet again that the earth is groaning and we are, in fact, living in the last days before the return of Christ.

And what are we to do in the midst of all of the signs around us?

"When these things begin to take place, stand up and lift your hands, because your redemption is drawing near." (Luke 21:28)

Well I just stood up beside my desk and lifted my hands to the Lord (Luke 21:28), because I do know without a doubt my redemption is drawing near! Praise the name of Jesus!

I have prayed often yesterday and today as the day goes by for the people in Japan. For our brothers and sisters in Christ to have God's strength, peace and wisdom. Epecially those trapped in pain and waiting for help. Oh, I hope they are all growing closer to God during this time. and, those that don't know Jesus as their Saviour...I pray they will be convicted by the power of the Holy Spirit to KNOW that Jesus IS the one and only Messiah. NOT buddah or the mtns and trees they pray to. There IS ONE God - He IS the God of Abraham, Issaic and Jacob. He's the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. The Alpha and Omega. the beginning and the end. That's MY God. And, I soo hope they will call out to Him today before it is too late.

My heart is crying out for all those hurting in Japan and in the ME. They must all feel they are going thru God's wrath now. So confused wondering where God is. It just breaks my heart to think of what's on their plate right now. It CAN"T be much longer now. People are suffering soo over there on the other side of the world.

Many thanks for the kind words; they are greatly appreciated.

I really don't do facebook myself (not much time these days anyway!) - but please feel free to post anything you want - we have to spread this word as time is growing short.

I hope that I can consolidate things in order to make prophecy watching easier for folks, as everyone is so busy just trying to get through these days. Its an honor and a privilege.

Thanks again

"Israel approves settlement construction
By AMY TEIBEL, Associated Press – 12 mins ago

JERUSALEM – Israel said Sunday it has approved building hundreds of settler homes after five members of an Israeli family — including three children — were knifed to death as they slept in a West Bank settlement over the weekend.

The attack and the government's response threatened to drive Israeli-Palestinian peacemaking even further out of reach. Israel, which blames the attack on Palestinian militants, is liable to set aside an emerging peace initiative it planned to propose, while the planned construction of new settler homes deepened Palestinian mistrust.

'We condemn this act of accelerated settlement construction,' senior Palestinian official Saeb Erekat said. 'We urge the international community to intervene and implement the two-state solution. This is the only way out of this vicious circle of violence and counter-violence.'
