The Mahdi is "Near" According to Iranian Leadership

This topic was just posted below (earlier today), but a new article has come out. This topic is just too important to update an old post, so below is the updated information. To me, this is huge news - as we have been waiting for Ahmadinejad to begin to tangibly act upon his fantasy of the return of the mythical Madhi. It now looks like Iran is primed to make their move to trigger the Mahdi's return. We also know that this "trigger" is conflict and violence in and around Israel - with the Mahdi coming in to "save the day" for radical Islam.

Iranian Video Says Mahdi is 'Near'

New evidence has emerged that the Iranian government sees the current unrest in the Middle East as a signal that the Mahdi--or Islamic messiah--is about to appear.

CBN News has obtained a never-before-seen video produced by the Iranian regime that says all the signs are moving into place -- and that Iran will soon help usher in the end times.

While the revolutionary movements gripping the Middle East have created uncertainty throughout the region, the video shows that the Iranian regime believes the chaos is divine proof that their ultimate victory is at hand.

The article brings out facts that prophecy watchers have warned about for years - the potential triggering point for the final, end-times prophetic battles as described in Psalm 83/Isaiah 17 and of course Ezekiel 38-39. Its nice to see the MSM getting on board, but the Iranian regime is making this very public now - even more so than before.

The propaganda footage has reportedly been approved at the highest levels of the Iranian government.

It's called The Coming is Near and it describes current events in the Middle East as a prelude to the arrival of the mythical tweflth Imam or Mahdi -- the messiah figure who Islamic scriptures say will lead the armies of Islam to victory over all non-Muslims in the last days.

Kahlili, author of the book, A Time to Betray, worked as a double agent for the CIA inside the Iranian regime.

"Just a few weeks ago, Ahmadenijad's office screened this movie with much excitement for the clerics," Kahlili told CBN News. "The target audience is Muslims in the Middle East and around the world."

Now they come to the role of the final conflict in Israel:

The video claims that Iran is destined to rise as a great power in the last days to help defeat America and Israel and usher in the return of the Mahdi. And it makes clear the Iranians believe that time is fast approaching.

The ongoing upheavals in other Middle Eastern countries like Yemen and Egypt--including the rise of the Muslim Brotherood -- are also analyzed as prophetic signs that the Mahdi is near -- so is the current poor health of the king of Saudi Arabia, an Iranian rival.

Iran's supreme leader, Ayatollah Khameini, and Hassan Nasrallah, leader of Iran's terrorist proxy Hezbollah, are hailed as pivotal end times players, whose rise was predicted in Islamic scriptures.

The same goes for Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadenijad, who the video says will conquer Jerusalem prior to the Mahdi's coming.

Joel Rosenberg gives us the magnitude of this situation:

I think it's a very grave development," Mideast expert Joel Rosenberg, author of The Twelfth Imam, told CBN News, "because it gives you a window into the thinking of the Iranian leadership: that they believe the time for war with Israel may be even sooner than others had imagined."

This is a very big development. It seems that Iran is telegraphing their intentions throughout the Middle East and this highly public video may serve as a rallying cry for the coalitions to finally come together for the last battles - all of which are intended to destroy Israel.

Everything that we have been watching around the world - the signs of the final generation - all seem to be coming together at this time. Not just the signs involving the Middle East - but all of the world-wide signs that have been discussed so many times before.

One can only wonder what will come next.

Does anyone here ever listen to Pastor J.D. Farag's Middle East Updates? He is from Calvary Chapel Kaneohe, HI. You can google the website and listen or watch the update from i tunes as a podcast. J.D. (Jesus Disciple) is of Arab descent and has a lot of insight into what is going on in the Middle East. His podcast this week deals with the Islamic "Mahdi" - fascinating stuff - too much to condense here. Like Scott, he is very measured thoughtful, and prayerful in what he puts out.

Thank you, Susan! I'm enjoying a sermon by Pastor J.D. right now! It's his prophecy update from 3-20-11. It's very good! :)

I think it is interesting that they believe the Mahdi will return in 72 months from when the person appointed to the regime (Ahmadinejad, as the video infers) takes on his role. Ahmadinejad began his presidency August 3, 2005....72 months is up in just over 4 months. It seems that if he truly believe this (which he does), that the chaos and destruction must happen before that time....I think we have a very, very eventful summer ahead...IF we are here to see it.

Scott, are you familiar with Don Koenig of "the prophetic years"? His theory is that the Seal judgments will comprise a period of time between the Rapture and the Tribulation. It makes a lot of sense to me, esp. the idea that if this period is 3-1/2 years, the midpoint would be mistaken for the end, and when the AC declares himself God the deceived will believe it and think the Trib. is about to end.

Mike -
Thats very interesting - do you have any references or links to this? If true, then thats really pushing the time-line. Plus, I have felt that Ahmadinejad HAS to see the writing on the wall as far as his regime is concerned - with that leading to the thought of seeing him (like Assad in Syria) launch a preemptive strike in order to rally the masses against Israel....

Paula -
I'm familiar with the name, Koenig, but I wasn't familiar with his point of view. I'd hate to even comment w/o knowing his detailed/scriptural views.

There is another author with that POV - his book is something like "Earthquake Resurrection" (that may not be the exact title) - and I thought his book was interesting, but I recall not agreeing with his view on several scriptures.

I believe all of the judgments come during the last 7 years of the 490. To me, that is the most consistent view with the various references to "the Wrath" to come - as God's wrath seems reserved for the last 7 years. I also don't think there will be that much of an interval between the Rapture and the start of the Tribulation - but thats my view.

I also believe that the entire book of Revelation is in complete and perfect order:

That order being as described in the book:

Church Age (2-3)--> Rapture (4:1)-->The Church in Heaven (4-5)--> Tribulation (6-18)--> 2nd Coming-->End of First Resurrection (Trib Saints and OT Saints)-->1,000 year reign--> G. WHite Throne Judgment of non-believers--> Eternal Home (New Jerusalem/New Heavens New Earth

In this chronological scheme, I have a hard time seeing "part" of God's wrath outside of the Tribulation (such as the proposal that certain judgments would be outside the Trib). I suppose its possible, maybe, but it doesn't seem fitting with what we know about the Time of Jacob's Trouble - as a discreet 7 year period for these things to take place.

Thats my take anyway :)

That information about the timeline regarding Ahmandinejad is IN the video you referenced on your blog post. I haven't studied the Koran to verify it, but my guess is that they wouldn't include it in their propaganda video if it wasn't part of their 'prophecy'. I do believe it is a VERY good possibility that a 'strike', or at least a major provocation to legitimize a 'response', is something to be expected. At this point, timeline considered, I am not even sure if they are even worried about what the rest of the world thinks if they did launch a preemptive strike.

BTW....I appreciate your blog, and thoughts, and very biblical take on these times...I've been a daily reader for quite some time....My Grandad was a minister for most of his life, interested in the last days....I think we will see each other again very, very soon!

Ain't it interesting......

1.These yahoos are expecting their Musty Mud Dweller during this time
2. We're expecting the AC to come crawling out from under his rock about the same time.
3. Many Jews are expecting their version of who they think is their savior during the same time frame.
4. Many native Americans are expecting theirs as well.
5. Some oriental religions are expecting their "whatever" during this time as well.
6. That famous calender ends during this time frame.

One gets the impression that somehow and in some way, all the peoples have it at least partly right. Its time for "someone" to come on the scene. Geepers, they need to read the "Real" book, not these copycat knock-offs. So sad, really.

Thats an odd view of the seals - it defies too much Scripture.
The seals are opened by Jesus in Revelation and the first seal is a/c revealed in Daniel 9 when he confirms the 7 year covenant with THE many referencing Israel.

I can only think Koenig is confusing the seals with the birthpangs which others, like Reynald Showers, place IN the 7 years from its start. (This is an imperfect match and similar does not = same.)

I couldn't be more ready to 'go' if I tried - Maranatha!

Mike - many thanks - and I LOVE to hear stories about folks whose grandparents told them about prophecy - my wife says the same. Its a great group to be a part of. And I agree - Iran is very emboldened now and they may not care about the "world" - good point.

Caver - the world is certainly ripe at the moment isn't it?
