Iran Holds Air Defense Drills As IAEA Says Iran Blocks Access To Key Nuclear Site

As if the market needed another bizarro catalyst to ramp even higher courtesy of an even more pronounced drop in corporate earnings courtesy of soaring energy costs, that is just what it is about to get following news of further deterioration in the Nash equilibrium in Iran, where on one hand we learn thatIAEA just pronounced Iran nuclear talks a failure (this is bad), and on the other Press TV reports that the Iran army just started a 4 day air defense exercise in a 190,000 square kilometer area in southern Iran (this is just as bad). The escalation "ball" is now in the Western court. And if Iraq is any indication, after IAEA talks "failure" (no matter how grossly manipulated by the media), the aftermath is usually always one and the same...

Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said on Wednesday that Tehran's nuclear course would not change regardless of international sanctions, assassinations or other pressures.

"With God's help, and without paying attention to propaganda, Iran's nuclear course should continue firmly and seriously ... Pressures, sanctions and assassinations will bear no fruit. No obstacles can stop Iran's nuclear work."

Jordan’s King Abdullah II on Tuesday blamed Israel for the deadlocked Middle East peace process, the officialPetra news agency reported.

Petra reported that King Abdullah was specifically concerned over Israel's “unilateral policies”, including changing the identity of the Arab sector in east Jerusalem and tampering with Muslim holy shrines there.

The details of the exact “package” offered by Netanyahu were not revealed, but a recent unconfirmed report said that Netanyahu plans to announce a plan to uproot communities and carry out mass evictions in Judea and Samaria.

The report said that due to the political impasse between Israel and the PA, Netanyahu is expected to propose a final status solution that would leave Israel with only the major settlement blocs and eastern Jerusalem.

Muslim mobs again hurled stones at Christian tourists and Jewish visitors atop Jerusalem's Temple Mount on Tuesday following a similar attack earlier in the week.

One police officer who was among those escorting the Christian and Jewish groups was injured, and two Muslim assailants were arrested.

Police were already on high alert for clashes atop the Temple Mount after local Muslim websites posted calls to "protect" the mosques occupying the Temple Mount from Jews who allegedly planned to desecrate them by praying there.

Israeli media this week reported that the IDF is gearing up for another large-scale ground incursion into the Gaza Strip to halt terrorist rocket fire and curb the threat posed by groups like Hamas and Islamic Jihad.

The Jerusalem Post reported last month that the IDF General Staff had ordered the Southern Command to draw up plans for a Gaza incursion. Over the weekend, the paper revealed that a growing number of senior officers in the Southern Command are not pushing for the order to be given to begin the attack.

The article below may be the most important one of the day. Note the bolded statements. We appear to be closer to war today than at any point in the last several years:

Western and Israeli intelligence experts have concluded that the transfer of 20 percent uranium enrichment to the underground Fordo site near Qom has shortened Iran’s race for the 90 percent (weapons) grade product to six weeks.

The International Atomic Energy Agency chief Yukiya Amano said Tuesday night, Feb. 21: “It is disappointing that Iran did not accept our request to visit Parchin.” This is the site were Iran conducts experiments in nuclear explosives and triggers.

This diplomatic understatement came amid three major reverses in the quest for a non-military solution to halt Iran’s drive for a nuclear weapon:

1. Iran placed a large obstacle in the path of resumed negotiations with six world powers on which US President Barack Obama had pinned his strategy for averting a war to arrest its nuclear weapon program. This strategy depended heavily on Iran eventually consenting to making its nuclear projects fully transparent, as his National Security Adviser Tom Donilon assured Israeli leaders earlier this week.

2. The transfer of 20 percent uranium enrichment to Fordo is taken by Western and Israel intelligence experts to have accelerated the pace of enriching large quantities of 20 percent enriched uranium to weapons grade and shortened to an estimated six weeks the time needed for arming a nuclear bomb after a decision in Tehran.

3. The threat that Iran will not wait for “its enemies” – Israel and/or the US - to strike and will act first.

Senior Israeli military and intelligence sources said Wednesday, Feb. 22, that Israel’s strategic and military position in the Middle East has taken a sharp downturn.

As one Israeli source put it: “Since Wednesday the rules of the game have changed.”

Hi Scott..I come to your blog from time to time as I love Bible prophecy. I am reading a book right now called..Signs of the Coming Christ..By Scott Sykes, MD.

Made me wonder if it was you who wrote this incredible book? MD..from NC..wow. I am thrilled!

This is the best book about prophesy I have ever read. It is so complete and simple and in order and I just love it! I plan on purching more to give to my family members and others.

Did you write this book? If so, it's incredible! Thanks so much for your time and hard work that you have put into this blog and the book if you wrote it.

I love the way the book shows that we are to take the bible in a literal manner..and how the closed book has now been open ..Just wonderful. I love the way the book of Rev. was detailed so much. The entire book is awesome!

Now, Iran is giving hope of nuclear talk to the P5+1, but denying UN inspector visit key sites.
Who is Iran fooling???

LM, welcome and I agree on the book. Have read it a number of times and it just brings today alive.

Since its a slow day in prophecy (:slapshead), thought I would contribute a few headlines...

Russia resuming nuclear-armed missions (Russia is slipping nuclear weapons into the equation just as Obama is wanting to draw down our inventory)
http://www.wnd.com/2012/02/russia-resuming-nuclear-armed-missions/

Sheriff Joe briefs Santorum on Obama probe (one can only shake his/head at this whole story line. Santorum just may be willing to make it an issue)

Amazing times we live in. Just amazing. Ya can't make this stuff up.

Just a tid bit , the stonings at the temple mount were due to a report out in Arutz sheva by the Al Aqsa center saying :Israel was to give half of Al Aqsa to the Jews ....Its sounds like an inflammatory story made up to stir Islamic anger (which it did) but if there is any basis of truth to this , it could be a MEGA sign of the return of the Temple Mount . God Bless.. Nathan....

Thanks LM for the post....I have been reading this blog forever, and never even noticed the book! I just bought two copies! Looking forward to reading it.

On another note, an update on my prayer request for Michele, for those who have been praying. She is having a very tough time...her husband has recently asked about getting back together, but she is now seeing someone who is already causing her pain (not sure how, but I know he is)...Of course, first thought is encouragement, but I dont know all the details (and its not my place to know anyway ;). I just pray it is sincere, and that she can forgive him.

Please keep praying for Michele...it seems that she might be one of those who have to spiral to the point of giving up with everything to open her heart to Christ. I do believe the Lord is working, just from comments I have received. And, I COMPLETELY am convinced that all those praying are making a difference. THANK YOU!

BTW, Scott, and those who have read his book....would this be a good tool for an unbeliever, or is pointed more for the believing Christian?

Thanks,

Mike

Scott, a friend loaned me a copy of your book a few years ago; and also alerted me to your web-site. The first few pages had an eerie feeling for me. I was vacationing in Europe on 9/11; and was wearing a jacket with the Promise Keepers logo on it. So some people must have thought I was a Christian; and they started asking me some of the same questions. Of course I'm not a real biblical scholar; but I did tell them that we'd benn brought to our knees, and that God may be using it as a wake-up call; and that we need to renew our dependence on Him. Mike, will continue to pray for MIchelle.

Me (in a tizzy) : God, can I ask you something?
GOD: Sure.
Me: Promise you won't get mad?
GOD: I promise.
Me (frustrated): Why did you let so much stuff happen to me today?
GOD: What do you mean?
Me: Well I woke up late.
GOD: Yes
Me: My car took forever to start,
GOD: Okay....
Me (growling): At lunch, they made my sandwich wrong and I had to wait
GOD: Hmmmm..
Me: On the way home, my phone went dead, just as I picked up a call
GOD: All right
Me (loudly): And to top it all off, when I got home, I just wanted to soak my feet in my foot massager and relax, but it wouldn't work. Nothing went right today! Why did you do that?
GOD: Well let me see..... the death angel was at your bed this morning and I had to send one of the other angels to battle him for your life. I let you sleep through that.
Me (humbled): Oh...
GOD: I didn't let your car start because there was a drunk driver on your route that might have hit you if you were on the road
Me (ashamed): ............
GOD: The first person who made your sandwich today was sick and I didn't want you to catch what they have, I knew you couldn't afford to miss work
Me (embarrassed): Oh.....
GOD: Your phone went dead because the person that was calling was going to give a false witness about what you said on that call, I didn't even let you talk to them so you would be covered
Me (softly): I see God
GOD: Oh and that foot massager, it had a short that was going to throw out all of the power in your house tonight. I didn't think you wanted to be in the dark.
Me: I'm sorry God.
GOD: Don't be sorry, just learn to trust me.........in all things, the good and the bad
Me: I WILL trust you God
GOD: And don't doubt that my plan for your day is always better than your plan
Me: I won't God. And let me just tell you God, thank you for everything today.
GOD: You're welcome child. It was just another day being your God and I love looking after my children.

I have heard about this : Today I was asked to scan my hand (unique blood vessels, etc) , for identity purposes, at a large medical facility.

I declined. Have you? Would you? Any thoughts? Diane

Scott said...

Diane - that makes a great point, doesn't it? (the first post)

Dutch & Anon - I never knew that - how awesome. I love to hear stories like that. God works in funny ways....When I wrote that it was really to serve as something I could give out after a sermon series, or a bible study...It started more as a bible study guide - as I had been doing bible studies for years and every time I did one, I would have to re-work the notes and presentation...So I decided to put all of the scriptures I had been using into one binding and I had around 100 pages, so I just decided to make it a book....I'd never planned on doing that.

Nathan - that's my understanding as well.

Diane, that was wonderful! Did you write it?

Thanks LM...that is why I bought 2 copies to start...one for the friend I am witnessing to. All the tools the Lord puts in front of me will be used!

Diane, thankyou, that was so inspiring. Something to think about when things don't always go our way.
I am so thankful that our Heavenly Father watches over us and loves us to pieces, even when we try His patience.

Diane said...

No, Alice, I did not write it. I found it on the internet,(author?)

However, there have been so many times in which I later realized why things did not go as I planned , and later saw that God had a much better Plan.

I am sure that we can all remember such times. It is always a comfort to know that:
"But I trust in you, LORD;
I say, 'You are my God.'
My TIMES are in your hands"
Psalm 31:14-15a

By the way, any thoughts about the hand scan, used in medical facilities ? Diane

Hi Miss Diane, top of the morning to ya.:tiphat

It was a beautiful story, and so true. Its just amazing to sit back and watch Him work in your life. So much I can only see in the rear view mirror....and just marvel at the trouble He kept me out of and the way He grows, teaches, corrects, and trains me....His child. His Child! That just sends shivers down my spine.

As for the scan, personally I would not have a serious issue with it. This is a far cry from receiving "the Mark", where we know that me are making a conscious decision and receiving a physical alteration. This, again to me, is no more than identifying me by who God made me....blue eyes, brown hair, height, weight, etc.

GG said...

Hi Diane~

Thanks as always for those uplifting quotes. What a great perspective when we see things through Gods eyes and heart and not ours:)

As for the scanning question, Dear Sis, as much as I need medical treatment, I have to say, I would not provide such information. So many times I have had to press in harder and lean on the Lord. At this time, I would just state it goes against my religious beliefs. Hopefully we will be home soon enough. I am not sure what will force others to give in when the days get hairy. I have always felt it would be worthwhile to die in that sense for the Lord instead of selling my soul to the devil. :) I trust in him more than man in the long run.

God Bless!!
