NATO began intensive war preparations in Lithuania-Latvia and Estonia. The Baltic, which entered a state of emergency, is expected to be the next zone of hostilities with Russia.

Lithuania for the first time imposed a curfew in Vilnius and Kaunas from 10pm to 5am yesterday and today (May 7-8) due to the deployment of NATO forces.

The country's Ministry of Defense asked residents not to be on the streets and not to film the war material.

Earlier, Lithuania declared the country's territorial waters, as well as the cities of Kaunas and Klaipeda, as military territories. The reason for this decision was the Perkuno Gryausmas military exercises.

The Perkuno Gryausmas exercises are the largest military maneuvers in the last ten years. They are performed in several stages. They involve 10,000 military personnel of the Lithuanian army and an equal number of NATO soldiers. The exercises will be completed on May 10.

Today, Lithuanian Prime Minister Ingrida Simonyte said she had received parliamentary approval allowing Lithuanian troops to be sent to Ukraine, she explained, "for training purposes."

Simonyte admitted that Moscow would consider such a move a "provocation" but added that if the Lithuanian authorities had thought about Russia's response, they could not have sent anything."

The Lithuanian prime minister stressed that she is not concerned about the threat of nuclear attacks in response to her country's immediate entry into armed conflict on the side of Kiev.
