Ukraine launched its largest attack to date with 160 drones, UAVs and USVs, various ballistic missiles and ATACMS against Russian targets in Sevastopol, Krasnodar, Novorossiysk, Tuapse.
The Russian air defense was fighting for more than 3 hours especially in the Crimea region.
The massiveness of the attack is remarkable. Apparently, Kiev has amassed a large number of drones and made another attempt to penetrate Russian air defense systems on the peninsula.
According to the Russian side, the attack by the Ukrainian Armed Forces in Crimea was coordinated by an American RQ-4B Global Hawk drone flying in the airspace next to the Russian peninsula.
In Sevastopol, the attack lasted several hours. The drone attack started from three directions in the Odessa region. Attacks were noted in Sevastopol Bay, Cape Fiolent and the Balaklava area.
▪️ A total of 46 UAVs were shot down by units of the 31st Aviation and Air Defense Division, five were suppressed by electronic countermeasures. Another nine drones were destroyed by Crimean small arms units.
Russian air defenses with a barrage of fire tried to prevent the attack of the Ukrainian drones on the port that hosts most of the ships of the Black Sea Fleet.
Powerful strikes hit Novorossiysk, damaging at least two oil depots and two terminals.
The Russian Ministry of Defense claims to have shot down 102 drones:
6 drones over Belgorod Oblast;
51 drones over Crimea;
44 drones over Krasnodar Krai;
1 drone over Kursk Oblast.
Overnight, Ukrainian strikes targeted Russia's Belbek Air Base in the Crimea, which is a home-base of the 38th Fighter Aviation Regiment (в/ч 80159), 4th Guards Air and Air Defense Forces Army.
