Britain will be plunged into its most acute constitutional crisis since the Second World War if Theresa May allows Brexit to be thwarted or watered down, former UKIP leader Nigel Farage has said.
Mr. Farage – the Member of the European Parliament (MEP) who did more than anyone else to bring about the Brexit referendum – said the establishment was working to keep the UK tied to the bloc.
He specifically named the Hungarian-American banking billionaire and pro-open borders activists George Soros, who is funding efforts to overthrow the government and block the democratic will of the British people, calling for an “investigation” into his influence.
Mr. Farage also slammed “Theresa the appeaser” for caving to almost all of the bloc’s demands during Brexit negotiations and claimed the EU was humiliating the UK during the process.
“The best case scenario right now under our current pathetic leadership is Brexit in name only – that is about as good as it gets,” Mr. Farage told Reuters in his office in Westminster on Monday.
“At worst, they are going to make us fight the whole thing again,” he added. “That is a significant betrayal of what many millions voted for.”
Just last week, it was revealed that the Prime Minister is considering keeping the UK partially inside the EU Single Market and subject to its rules, days after the EU demandedNorthern Ireland remains locked in the market.

Mr. Farage also said that Mr. Soros’s influence over Western politics should be investigated, demanding the billionaire comes to London to publicly explain his political projects and ambitions.
“There does need to be an investigation into the extent that George Soros is undermining politics right across the Western world,” he said.
“This is the biggest political campaigning organization the world has ever seen and most people are in denial about it.”
Whilst some Pro-EU activists have claimed that criticism of Mr. Soros is anti-Semitic, the Hungarian Secretary of State for Public Diplomacy, Dr. Zoltán Kovács, appeared to share Mr. Farage’s concerns, commenting last week:
“Soros is funding groups that are working to overturn Brexit, to reverse a decision taken at the request of UK voters, and to possibly topple the democratically elected government of Theresa May in the process… Let that sink in for a moment.”
