Monday: Daily Headlines

As usual lately, there are many pertinent headlines:

Salafi Bedouin and al Qaeda bands Sunday, Sept 16, expanded their Sinai offensive to three Egyptian bases along a 70-kilometer front three days after they raided the US-led Multinational Force base south of El Arish in northern Sinai and hoisted the black Islamist flag.

The explosion was followed by a horde of heavily armed gunmen firing rocket grenades and heavy machine guns swooping on the center and seizing the rooftops of surrounding buildings to pin down the Egyptian commanders inside the compound. By the end of the day, the Salafi-al Qaeda gangs were in control of El Arish, the key town of northern Sinai.

At a distance of 40 kilometers, a fierce battle erupted at another site, Sheikh Zuwaid, 3 kilometers from the MFO’s northern base which was attacked Friday. The raiders captured the local school and took dozens of children hostage. Using them as human shields, the terrorists advanced on the local police station shooting anti-tank rockets, rocket grenades, automatic weapons and fire bombs.

This feat puts the Sinai Army of Islam at the forefront of the violent Islamist protest against the United States sweeping across the Middle East and Asia over a film mocking the Prophet Muhammad. Because it is beyond the horizon of international attention and the Western media, Washington, Cairo and Jerusalem have been able to keep its true impact under wraps.

The IDF high command is tensed now for the jihadis to again turn their guns and rockets on Israel.

While President Barack Obama sends millions of U.S. taxpayer dollars to help Syrian opposition forces who have aligned themselves with Al-Qaeda overthrow President Bashar Al-Assad, a video shows some of those very same Syrian rebels burning an American flag.

The footage shows Syrian opposition members reciting Islamic chants for the prophet Muhammad as they burn a U.S. flag and subsequently throw it to the ground and stamp on it. The tri-star French Mandate flag which has become the emblem of Syrian rebels can clearly be seen in the background.

Similar to how last week’s attack in Benghazi led to questions about the Obama administration’s foreign policy of arming some of the very same militants now killing U.S. Ambassadors in Libya, this clip will stoke fresh controversy about why the White House is backing extremists in Syria who are now openly displaying their contempt for the United States in line with other anti-American protests occurring across the region.

Hundreds of Afghans burned cars and threw rocks at a US military base as a demonstration against an anti-Islam film that ridicules the Prophet Muhammad turned violent in the Afghan capital early Monday.

And in Jakarta, Indonesians angered over the film clashed with police outside the US Embassy, hurling rocks and Molotov cocktails and burning tires outside the mission. Israel Radio reported that the officers used tear gas to disperse the crowds. At least one police officer was seen bleeding from the head and being carried to safety by fellow officers.

In Kabul on Monday, the air was thick with smoke on Jalalabad road — a main thoroughfare into the city center where the crowd burned shipping containers and tires. At least one police vehicle was burned by the mob before they finally dispersed around midday, according Daoud Amin, the deputy police chief for Kabul province.

“Death to America!” and “Death to those people who have made a film and insulted our prophet,” shouted the crowd. Police officers shot into the air to hold back about 800 people and prevent them from pushing toward government buildings downtown, said Azizullah, a police officer at the site who, like many Afghans, only goes by one name.

The Obama Administration clashed Sunday with Libya over whether last week’s deadly consulate attack was a spontaneous protest over an anti-Islam film or pre-planned terrorism.

The president of Libya’s General National Congress claimed on CBS’s “Face the Nation” that the assault was timed to coincide with the 11th anniversary of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.

Mohammed Yussef Magariaf blamed “people who entered the country a few months ago” from Mali and Algeria for mounting the assault that killed Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three others.

Sen. John McCain, the senior Republican on the Senate Armed Services Committee, also said the violence bore the hallmarks of premeditation.

“How spontaneous is a demonstration when people bring rocket-propelled grenades and heavy weapons?” he said on CBS.

Rarely has an international crisis and potential for a regional conflict been more predicable than what the world is witnessing in the Middle East and North Africa.

Not only have the most radical elements of Islam now found homes other than in the mountains and caves of Afghanistan, Israel is surrounded by: Lebanon and Hezb'allah, Egypt and the Muslim Brotherhood, and Syria dominated by the Iranian Islamists. All whose sole mission in life is to destroy Israel, impose sharia law throughout the region, and re-institute the old Muslim Caliphate. Their motivation is based on religious fanaticism, the most dangerous driver of human behavior.

To anyone who paid attention to this region and the virulent spread of radical Islam, their infiltration into Europe and the attacks on the United States, this potential outcome was self-evident. Barack Obama and other leaders in the West refused to believe the worst could happen, a belief that still motivates the American president. This was the same mindset which permeated the psyche of Neville Chamberlain and other politicians in Western Europe in the 1930's, as they refused to believe the Nazis were who they said they were.

There will be a violent conflict in the Middle East. It is only a matter of time. The only question that remains is whether it will spread beyond the confines of the region. When the history of these times is written, Barack Obama will have heaped upon his shoulders a lion's share of the responsibility for the death and destruction certain to occur.

Most people have heard the fable about the frog and the scorpion, but in the event you haven’t, I’ll briefly recount it here. A scorpion asks a frog to carry him on his back to the other side of a stream. The frog initially refuses, telling the scorpion that he would likely sting and kill him along the journey. The scorpion promises not to, pointing out that they would both die if the scorpion was to sting the frog in the middle of the water. The frog then said that the scorpion would sting the frog once they were on the other side. The scorpion scoffed, telling the frog that he would be too grateful to do something as sinister as that.

Like the story of Ambassador Christopher Stevens, the tale does not have a happy ending. After the frog agrees to carry the scorpion, the frog gets stung in the middle of the stream, dooming them both. When the frog asks the scorpion why, the scorpion simply replies, “it is my nature.”

Believe what you wish about America’s foreign policy, but Ambassador Stevens succumbed to the sting of the scorpion that is inherent in the nature of Islamic fundamentalism that exists under the pretext of what is termed “Arab Spring.”

The Obama doctrine, it would appear, is one of orchestrated deconstruction of countries getting in the way of the reconstruction of the Islamic Caliphate. Once established, the Islamic Caliphate will usher in a repressive global religion complimentary to the larger globalist agenda. Accordingly, Syria cannot be allowed to exist in its current form, nor can Israel, but for different reasons. We witnessed this doctrine in action in Egypt and Libya, with the spoils going to a cabal of international bankers backing the plan.

The globalist table is being set. The plans are order from chaos - engineered chaos. The “New World Order” has been defined, and its plans are in progress. Barack Hussein Obama has been selected as the one to usher in the new age of global governance. Backroom deals have been made by those who believe they will have a seat at that table. However, most will not sit at that table. Like the frog, they will take their final breaths underneath a scorpion.

An international human rights group says members of Syria’s armed opposition have subjected detainees to torture and committed extrajudicial or summary executions in several areas.

Also on Monday, an independent UN panel confirmed that an increasing number of ‘foreign elements,’ including jihadis, are now operating in Syria.

Iranian analyst Alireza Forghani boasted today that Jerusalem, which he claims was invaded over 50 years ago by the “pig-faced” Jews, will soon become a mass “graveyard” for the Israeli people.

Forghani, a strategy specialist in the camp of Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, boasted that every city in Israel will turn into a killing ground and the longsuffering of Muslims worldwide “will be justified by the mighty Islamic Iran.” No one then will listen to the cries of the women and children of Israel, the author warned, when Jerusalem becomes “the biggest graveyard in the world.”

Forghani has also previously penned articles that laid out the legal and religious justification for the destruction of Israel and the slaughter of its people, as well as the right of Islamic Iran to obtain the nuclear bomb.

Forghani said that with each hour that passes, Israel is closer to the end of its existence.

“If [the Jews] do not voluntarily leave the area, then there will be no other way but to destroy the place and bury all of its inhabitants, including women and children, though the holy Al Aqsa Mosque (the third holiest site in Islam) is also located there,” he said.

The head of Iran's Revolutionary Guards on Sunday warned of retaliation against the Gulf's strategic Strait of Hormuz, U.S. bases in the Middle East and Israel if his country was to be attacked.

According to a report by AFP, General Mohammad Ali Jafari, speaking in a very rare news conference in Tehran, also said that he believed Iran would abandon the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty should it be targeted for military action.

Jafari said that the Strait of Hormuz, the narrow channel at the entrance of the Gulf through which a third of the world's traded oil passes, would be a legitimate target for Iran should it be attacked.

Jafari’s threats came in the wake of repeated speculation that Israel may attack Iran’s nuclear facilities. Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu has been pushing the U.S. to define clear “red lines” that Iran cannot cross in its nuclear program

The exercise is being showcased as the biggest air defence war game in the Islamic Republic's history and will be Iran's most visible response yet to mounting speculation that Israel's prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, may order a military strike this autumn.

Using surface-to-air missiles, unmanned drones and state-of-the-art radar, Iran's Revolutionary Guards and air force will combine to test the defences of 3,600 sensitive locations throughout the country, including oil refineries and uranium enrichment facilities.

The high-profile manoeuvres will represent a riposte to planned naval exercises this week by the US in the Persian Gulf. The American exercises, which focus on tackling threats from sea mines, are seen - though not officially acknowledged - as a response to Iranian threats to close or sabotage the waterways of the Strait of Hormuz, the strategically vital transit route for around one-fifth of the world's oil.

Praying for my best friends brother-in law--he is in the military. He got the call to go to Cairo last week. Her nephew is in Afghanistan--also in the military. My best friend's sister is wife and mother to these two men. Appreciate prayers for this family. Thanks!

Gwenny, I'll add him to my prayer list.

While the video of these Syrian rebels burning our flag is alarming, it doesn't compare to the videos posted online of these same "rebels" slitting the throats of Syrian government supporters and letting them bleed out as though it were a goat being sacrificed. It's hideous, these are Al Qaeda groups and just like in Libya, should give pause to all Americans that our Administration is supporting this over governments who, here to for, we're US friendly. They've only turned because we've cut off their legs and sided with our enemy. It's absurd!
