In The News:

The commentaries are rolling in regarding Israel's new "unity government":

Kadima's entry into the government puts Benjamin Netanyahu at the head of a broad coalition of 94 Knesset members. That gives him almost complete freedom of action over the remaining year and a half of the 18th Knesset's term. The parliamentary opposition has been dwarfed and neutralized, while coalition factions will have trouble threatening to topple the prime minister from power.

Benjamin Netanyahu, Israel's Prime Minister, has cancelled snap elections and formed a national unity government with the largest opposition party in a dramatic deal that would give the hawkish premier a commanding mandate should he choose to strike against Iran.

The surprise deal with Shaul Mofaz, leader of the centrist Kadima party, comes two days after Mr Netanyahu called early elections for September, and puts the Prime Minister at the helm of one of the largest and broadest governments in Israel's history, with a 94-seat majority in the 120-member Knesset.

But crucially, it gives him a powerful political mandate at a time of heightened tensions with Iran, potentially making it easier for him to convince voters of his credentials to lead Israel in a pre-emptive strike on Iran's nuclear facilities, should he choose to do so.

Some analysts noted that Israel's national unity governments have formed in the past at a time of war, and hinted there could be an understanding with Mr Mofaz, a former army chief of staff, regarding a pre-emptive strike on Iran's nuclear facilities. The Israeli leader and his Defence Minister, Ehud Barak, are widely believed to favour such an attack despite opposition at home and abroad.

The article below contains a lengthy list of commentaries relating to the new unity government for a deeper review.

Despite the Kremlin’s efforts to convince the Russian people - and the international media - that the protest movement that followed December’s fraudulent Duma elections was just a flash in the pan, protestors and the revived opposition have made it clear that they are not going away. The growing sense of intractability on both sides could be why yesterday’s protests saw more altercations between police and protestors than previous post-election protests: both sides sense that they are now in for a protracted standoff.

If the opposition can survive the likely imprisonment of key leaders, resist the siren song of Kremlin money and power, remain united under a broad platform of reform and convince key elites to join their cause, a crackdown could be much harder to sustain, and Putin could find himself in a very difficult position. That is no small feat, and the situation looks likely to get worse before it ever gets better. Indeed, there’s no question that Putin retains the monopoly on power in Russia - but his “managed democracy” isn’t likely to stay under the same management forever.

Jordan is beginning to become overwhelmed by the influx of Syrians fleeing the growing civil war in their country.

The number of refugees crossing the southern border into the Hashemite Kingdom this month has reached 14,500, according to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).

The state-run news agency quoted Mafraq officials as saying the influx of refugees had also placed an additional strain on the area's health and water sectors.

Mayor Mohammad Oweidat said his municipality's environmental staff has been “stretched to the limit” as sanitation crews were “incapable of dealing with more than 200 tons of garbage left daily by the local community and a refugee population that has swelled to over 20,000.

On Holocaust Remembrance Day, Obama unveiled an “Atrocities Prevention Board” to, in his own words, “prevent and respond to mass atrocities”. The “Atrocities Prevention Board” is notable mainly for what it is not and his speech was notable for the topic that it avoided. Genocide.

Yet Obama ignored actual genocide, and defiled the Holocaust Memorial Museum by using it as a stage for whitewashing one of the world’s worst ruling mass murderers.

Obama was equally unwilling to call out Iran’s mass murdering thugs, Ahmadinejad and Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, by name. He briefly mentioned that his administration would continue to apply diplomatic pressure on Iran to prevent it from obtaining a nuclear weapon, but refused to make the connection to the events of the day.

Instead of using his stage at the Holocaust Museum on Holocaust Remembrance Day to confront and address this genocidal shadow over the Jewish State, Obama used it to unveil an Atrocities Prevention Board, headed by Samantha Power, who had discussed invading Israel with a mammoth force while warning with a chuckle that it might alienate a “domestic constituency of tremendous political and financial import”.

It was the kind of talk you might have expected from a Nazi propagandist, not an official whose job it was to prevent genocides from taking place. But the Atrocities Prevention Board had shelved genocide prevention, watering it down to atrocities prevention, a vague term that made opportunistic wars like Libya possible. And it has no interest whatsoever in preventing the one genocide that has been brewing in the region since the days of Mohammed.

Iran has made it clear that it wants to exterminate millions of Jews, and it is not alone in that desire. From the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt, which drew organizational inspiration from the Nazis, to Al-Nahda in Tunisia, and the AKP in Turkey, the Muslim world is licking its lips at the prospect. But this would-be genocide is described as a “conflict” in need of more peace negotiations, much as Bashir’s genocide was dismissed by Obama with the same language.

OH MY GOODNESS BROTHER SCOTT,
This is still sinking in, how stunning a move that Bibi just made!
He called for an early election, knowing full well he was safe and would win, but at the same time, knowing full well that the primary opposition Kadima, would loose half their seats in the Knesset!
As they began to dissolve the Knesset to clear the way for the elections, Kadima knew they wouldnt survive an election, the Kadima party out of desperation, agrees to a deal of Unity Government with Bibi.
As Caroline Glick said of Bibi : “he built himself the strongest and largest coalition Israel has ever seen” AND “Mofaz gave Netanyahu unprecedented power and political stability for more than a year."
WOW! Along with now having “unprecedented power”, Bibi has protected himself from our evil White House occupier and his minions, and the smaller Parties interruptions and objections. GREEN LIGHT ?
God has allowed and brought to the surface, the most evil of evil in the nations surrounding Israel, so that He may wipe them out. At the same time, He has brought to pass, the unification of His nation, so as to take on the horrendous back to back wars to come.
The Hand of God is Truly all over this man. God has raised him up for such a time as this! We need to be in great Prayer for Benjamin Netanyahu, for the Apple of Gods Eye, His Chosen People, for His Nation of Israel! In the not too distant future, they will endure GREAT pain, suffering through unimaginable wars…
Look Up! Look Up! Our Redemption draweth nye!

And George Soros... what's wrong, Big Guy? Only 2 million to give to your favorite progressive groups? That's pocket change for you! What gives?

Thanks Mrs. C for that analysis. Well done.

My father is still hanging on. Pray for my mother who has dementia and is not fully grasping that my dad's days are numbered. I am still hoping for an outside chance Jesus comes before dad passes. For some reason I always believed he and mom would both be alive for the rapture. We will see.

Come Lord Jesus. In the mean time we pray for the fullness of the Gentiles to come soon and we pray for Israel and Benjamin Netanyahu. Give them wisdom and favor Father.

Blessings to all who visit here and much appreciation to all your work Scott! May God richly bless you and your family.

Oh Mrs. C and Alice, you two have summed it up nicely! Bibi is so shrewd (in a good way) humble and smart! I really like that man. I'm pretty sure he is messianic believer.
The day after the rapture is going to be very messy, isn't it? Bibi gone, but most other nations will still have their leaders. That makes for an interesting scenariio.

WV-Oh what a heartwrenching spot. I lift up your entire family in prayer, that God give you strength, peace, wisdom and healing. Mostly I pray in the Spirit, for who I am to know what is best? Only the father knows.
I love you and your family brother!
I too long for our blessed hope! But just remember WV, to be absent from the body is to be present with Jesus. Your dad just might get to the wedding a few minutes early. Maybe he is an usher for the bride's side ;)
Hang in there WV! we are almost done

Thanks Ally, you are a blessing!

My dad winked at his sweet heart in a little country church in southern WV over 67 years ago during the service. She was hooked. She is now sitting by his side daily, all day in the skilled nursing unit at the hospital.

You are right this will be great for dad as to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. Yahooooo! I guess it is really our mother we are most concerned about going forward. It will not be easy for her but God is faithful.

God Bless.

and yet Stocks refuse to sell off......!!!!

It would appear that there are BUYERS at the lows and stocks
always rally back. gold mining
stocks were all up....NOT a good
sign for bears.

But the dollar was up as well,
and GS continues to sell off.

I am confused with current market action. If you look at the overall
wave counts, they are BEARISH, and
yet bulls continue to buy at the
lows.

as long as that behaviour is going
on, one could MAKE THE CASE that
we may start a big rally here...

BUT I would NOT be a buyer here,
would NOT even consider it.

Again we go sideways tonight.

Bulls will not give up.

makes me sick.

MORE to be revealed in the next
few days, although I MUST ADMIT,
the new govn in Greece could be
the END of our bulls, since they
want to REVERSE all the austerity
moves that bulls wanted to begin
with.....France as well.....

that is VERY BULLISH news for the
dollar, if in the end Greece defaults, moral hazard starts to
hit hard.....ie.....why should
other strong EU countries bail
out weak ones at all ??

really seriously, why bother ????

I don't watch the stock market. I don't buy , sell or even understand the stock market. I do understand the prophecies of the bible are being fulfilled right now and its awesome to watch!

God bless all of my brothers and sisters in Christ. May we each do the will of God each day as He speaks to our hearts . May we all reach at least one person each day, to help bring in the fulness of the Gentiles so we can be with the Lord forever.

Just me passing by!
