The IMF Leadership

The IMF seems to have a growing role in the world financial system, and we have been watching as their bid to create a single financial system and a single currency gains momentum. Therefore we watch the IMF carefully:

Arrest of IMF chief to complicate EU bailout talks

The arrest on sexual assault charges of International Monetary Fund (IMF) chief Dominique Strauss-Kahn, a supporter of eurozone bailouts, is set to complicate Greece's bid to extend its EU-IMF loan as euro finance ministers gather in Brussels on Monday (16 May).

Tipped to become French President Nicolas Sarkozy's main rival in the 2012 elections, Strauss-Kahn was detained in New York on Sunday shortly after boarding a flight to Germany, where he was to hold talks with German Chancellor Angela Merkel ahead of the eurozone talks on Monday.

The US court is to hold a first hearing later today, after a 32-year old maid accused him of trying to rape her in a luxury suite in the Sofitel hotel

The news came as a shock to the IMF, with top officials grappling to cope with the leadership crisis on Sunday.

Deputy IMF chief John Lipsky, an American official, stepped in as acting managing director, while Egyptian economist Nemat Shafik is to replace Strauss-Kahn at the eurozone ministers' meeting in the EU capital.

The scandal is also likely to impact the appointment of his successor.

The Strauss-Kahn Charges

The arrest of Dominique Strauss-Kahn on charges of sexually assaulting a hotel cleaning woman in New York City is a personal humiliation for the French politician, but it is also a black mark on the International Monetary Fund that chose to overlook his previous sexual behavior. It will be fascinating to see how the grandees of French and international financial politics handle this one.

We'll see if those tolerant IMF officials consider the New York charges to be consistent with their admonitions. Yesterday the fund named its number two official, the capable U.S. economist John Lipsky, as acting managing director. Under Mr. Strauss-Kahn, the IMF promoted multiple European bailouts and we doubt that will change.

The charges are roiling France, where Mr. Strauss-Kahn was the favorite to be the Socialist nominee for President next year and was even leading in the polls against Nicolas Sarkozy.

Mr. Strauss-Kahn's humiliation would leave the Socialists without a presidential front-runner. It could help Martine Aubry, the party chief and godmother of the 35-hour work week, who remains as hardcore a Socialist as there is these days. That is not a winning platform. Mr. Sarkozy, who supported Mr. Strauss-Kahn's candidacy for the top IMF job in part to get him out of the country, would appear again to be the favorite.

One has to wonder if this could be a set-up by his rivals - or if these charges are true:

Some in the French press and even a French government minister are suggesting that the 62-year-old Socialist Party panjandrum may have been set up by his rivals. The charges are stunning enough—and French politics is strange enough—that we suppose anything is possible, but such a conspiracy would have to include a large number of players.

The facts of the case as reported by New York police so far do not look promising for the IMF managing director
.

IMF to remain 'fully functional' after Strauss-Kahn arrested in New York

In response to the arrest, which rocked France at its core, the IMF said it would remain 'fully functioning and operational.' "Mr. Strauss-Kahn has retained legal counsel, and the IMF has no comment on the case; all inquiries will be referred to his personal lawyer and to the local authorities," said Caroline Atkinson, Director of External Relations at the IMF.
As Strauss-Kahn remains in police custody in New York, the IMF has appointed John Lipsky as Acting Managing Director.

It seems clear that we will see new leadership within the IMF - and that represents an interesting change - potentially.

Who will step forward, and what will his/her agenda be?

In these last days, any such changes to significant groups such as the IMF is of great interest...Stay tuned on this one; we need to watch these developments closely.

I wonder if the removal of S-K will give Soros the opportunity to appoint the 'sheriff'.

Yup people, Satan can take you to the top (remember him trying to tempt Jesus) where he then destroys you with great glee when he is finished using you. God is not finished with me yet, and i feel sad to see the demise of any man, i rejoice at the downfall of evil doers! Did you ever know the ending to a movie or a sports game, but you watch it anyway to see what happens? Thats the way I am feeling today! Go Jesus Go! Team Yeshua! Its more like a chess match really. We need our cheerleaders (Prayer warriors) to get on the ball. Really guys, we are currently unable to discerne what is real or manufactured without his help. On my knees looking up, lookin up, lookin up!-ally

I hope that when Israel "grows lean" as Isaiah 17 says it will before the nations come in like "rushing water" that the nation of Israel wont lose hope.

Know meatloaf probably didn't write his songs from a Christian perspective, but these lines from "home by now" by meatloaf seems to summarize the strength of our conviction in Christ "No matter what they tell us No matter what they do No matter what they teach us What we believe is true No matter what they call us However they attack No matter where they take us We’ll find our own way back I can’t deny what 1 believe I can’t be what I’m not I know I’ll love forever, I know -No matter what"

Your post is so true. I don't know much about Soros except what I am learning through here. Seems he has been a step ahead in many of the financial arenas of life. I don't want to judge him but I can't shake this odd feeling I am getting about him and what help he may want to promote. I feel it very strong with the RFID and Somark news that is coming out. Hopefully I will be wrong on that one:)

In the meantime, thanks for the idea to add Israel and all that goes with it to my daily prayer list. I will join the team!

Hey Dylan, Donny Osmond sings that on his Broadway album, I always thought it was the Mormon Anthem :) that is too funny !!! I love the words... no matter what :)

On another note, I felt a huge burden to pray for the innocent people in Damascus last night, the children especially. I am praying families will feel the urgency to leave the city and be spared.

Will there be 2 attacks on Israel? One from the Arabs either pre or at the beginning of the tribulation and one at the end with the other nations? Because there's the gog/Magog battle and then there's the Zechariah 14 Jerusalem battle where God comes and the plague rots the flesh off of the attackers of Jerusalem. So it makes me think therell be more than one attack on Israel during the tribulation.

Dylan, thats an interesting prophecy that you bring up...I believe the context of Zech 14 is the Second Coming and Tribulation events leading to the 2nd coming...This idea is bolstered by verse 4 which references Jesus coming to the Mt of Olives and the end of verse 5 which says "the Lord will come...and all the holy ones with Him" (presumably the Saints)

Having said that - I have heard Hal Lindsey make the case that it could represent nuclear weapons or neutron bombs that Israel has in their possession.

Alice - thanks for providing that link - is this going on all week?

I absolutely believe that Soros will have a hand in the IMF head - absolutely.

Ally - excellent points - I agree

Personally, it sounds like a different battle than the one mentioned in Isaiah 17. In Zechariah it doesn't mention Israel becoming "lean". In Isaiah it says that israels invaders would be chased out, but in Zechariah, it says the survivors would come back and praise God year after year. To me that sounds like the beginning of the 1000 year kingdom.

GG-check Soros out. He's a favorite topic around here. Lets see, got his start by stealing yfrom the Jews, as they were headed off to the ovens and he single handedly broke the Bank of England with his money manipulation. What else, pretty much controls all the media in the u.s., has a bunch of "fronts" with great sounding names that influence everything from food, transportation, media, goverment, the u.n.The most exciting part about Soros though is he openly admits his involvement in ALL of this and he can't wait for the NEW WORLD ORDER! By the way, he has put out the plan of how to destroy the u.s. dollar, by removing it from its spot as the world's reserve currency. He sure is good at taking things over by intrigue. One day he will stand in front of the King of Kings and be judged. Hope i am there for that! Hey, i think we are on that jury, aren't we? -ally

Scott, I think the conference ends today...not sure, though.

I've been washing windows today. Had my laptop right nearby and put the Epicenter Conference on. LOVED listening to Anne Graham Lotz!!! Looking forward to the rest!

Scott, one more thing. Have you seen this anywhere else??? Anyone?

Came across something that is both alarming and unconscionable. According to Alliance for Human Research, the Obama administration wants to test anthrax vaccinations on children via the Emergency Use Authorization. If you are wondering just how late in the hour it is, just read the following:

I have been thinking lately of how the most precious and innocent are being victimized unlike any time in history. Our Shepherd will not tarry much longer.

Scott, didn't want this to get buried in your previous blog entry about taking the mark. It's the 9/10/11 program in which biometric chipping could begin as early as this year!

If you have already touched on this, my apologies.

Ally - nice summary :)
That about covers it as far as Soros...

I have a quick post to make (interesting EU update) and then I'm going to come back to these links from gearerup and Alice...

gearedup....They'll pay parents to enroll their kids into this trial...It will be interesting to see the data which is generated. I sure as heck would never-ever let my daughter get this vaccine (at this point anyway)...But there are parents out there who will sign a consent for this trial...

That other article looks interesting too - just digging into that one - many thanks :)

Hi Ally~

Thanks for the overview. This makes perfect sense to me :)

Jill- Thanks for sharing your heart on the prayers for Damascus. As a mother of a young one, I can't imagine what they are going through. I will be praying for many things each day.

GU-W.O.W..Thanks for that link. You can only imagine the natural instinct of a mother if they tried to inject our daughter with something like that. This site is great to keep up on the things that the media wishes to let slide by.

Have a blessed day everyone!
