A magnitude 5.0 earthquake was reported at 11:46 p.m. Saturday 17 miles from Fortuna, Calif., according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
The earthquake occurred 29 miles from Eureka, 33 miles from Arcata, 41 miles from McKinleyville and 94 miles from Redding.In the last 10 days, there have been two earthquakes of magnitude 3.0 or greater centered nearby.
