White House Opposes Extra Funding For Israel Missile Defense, Sirte Liberated ISIS Suffers Setback, Active Volcanoes

White House opposes extra funding for Israel missile defense

The White House said Tuesday that it was opposed to a move by the House of Representatives to increase funding for Israeli missile defense procurement by an additional $455 million above the administration’s budget request for the 2017 fiscal year.

The announcement was greeted with disappointment by the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) which emphasized the importance of the additional funding.

In a long letter sent to Congress on Tuesday, the Obama administration listed its numerous objections to the House’s version of the defense appropriations bill for the coming fiscal year.

Libyan forces say they have retaken control of the port in the city of Sirte – the most significant IS stronghold outside Iraq and Syria – after fierce fighting with Islamic State militants.
The massive Sirte Basin is the centre of Libya’s oil industry. About 80% of Libya’s accessible oil is located there.
The brigades largely composed of fighters from Misrata troops, allied to the UN-backed unity government in Tripoli, began the battle backed by air strikes and bombardment from naval ships to retake the city last month.
Now Islamic State (IS) has lost almost the entire self-proclaimed caliphate in Libya that, until last month, stretched for 150 miles along the coast and deep into the Sirte basin oilfields. The militant group has suffered setbacks on several fronts in the Middle East where it captured large swathes of territory two years ago, including the loss of the ancient Syrian city of Palmyra liberated with the help of Russian aviation.
The victory in Sirte is important but it does not solve the problem of terrorism in Libya. Islamic State is a symptom of the crisis ensued as a result of the 2011 NATO’s intervention. To do away with the group, Libya needs to bring back order and stability. An international effort is also required to block hundreds of thousands of refugees. Aid packages and mediation activities have to be approved by the UN Security Council and conducted under international supervision – something unthinkable without Russia.

Russia's Klyuchevskoy volcano erupted late June 13, 2016, sending a column of smoke and ash high into the sky.
At 22:09 UTC, a plume of ash reached an altitude of 5 - 6 km (16 400 - 19 680 feet) above sea level. At of 21:29 UTC, ash plume extended 47 km (29 miles) to the west, KVERT reported.
Aviation Color Code remains on Orange since April 24, 2016.
The explosive eruption of the volcano continues and ash explosions up to 6 to 8 km (19 700 to 26 240 feet) a.s.l. could occur at any time, KVERT said. Ongoing activity could affect international and low-flying aircraft.
Around 13:40 UTC on April 23, strong explosions at the volcano sent ash up to 9 km (29 527 feet) above sea level.

With the Obama presidency in its final year, there is one central element of his foreign policy that has received little attention – the dramatic acceleration of lethal weapons exports by the U.S. military and defense contractors. As Ammo.com details, the Obama administration has approved more lethal weapon sales to more foreign countries than any U.S. administration since World War II. Many billions more than G.W. Bush's administration, in fact. And some of these sales will likely result in unintended consequences i.e. "blowback" – especially as more than 60 percent of them have gone to the Middle East and Persian Gulf.
(After all, U.S. weapons supplied to the mujaheddin in Afghanistan to fight the Soviets were then used to help launch Al-Qaeda. Arms supplied to Iraqi security forces and Syrian rebels have been captured by ISIS. And “allies” from Bahrain to Egypt to Saudi Arabia have used U.S.-supplied weapons to defeat homegrown democracy movements.)
On May 23rd, President Obama announced at a press conference in Hanoi that the U.S. would be lifting its decades-long embargo on sales of lethal weapons to Vietnam. Such a reversal in U.S. foreign policy raises questions: How does the U.S. arms export market actually work? Which companies in the military-industrial complex profit from these sales? Who really ends up with U.S. weapons? And most importantly, how many of those weapons could eventually be used against us?

After failing to convince the American Public that guns are the problem, President Obama has a new strategy to go after guns – claim that it’s an issue of National Security.
Since President Obama took office his administration has done everything they can to push gun control on the American Public, including signing numerous unconstitutional executive orders to prevent Americans from obtaining the firearms they need to protect themselves from the psychopaths of the world. Now, the Obama administration is using the recent terrorist attack in Orlando, Florida as an excuse to not go after terrorists, but instead to take guns away from American citizens.
The new strategy was unveiled by the chief dunce over at the Department of Homeland Security who seems more concerned with disarming Americans than doing his actual job of protecting the homeland from terrorists.
Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson, during an appearance on CBS, claimed that is now the responsibility of the Department of Homeland Security to regulate firearms. He claims that gun control is now “part and parcel” of his agency’s responsibilities.

Johnson told CBS I do believe,” he said, “that meaningful, responsible gun control is now part and parcel of homeland security.”
He continued, “It’s critical to public safety. We have to face the fact that meaningful, responsible gun control has to be part of Homeland Security. It’s coming I think the American public has to face.”

DHS, the agency who helped Employ the Orlando Terrorist, Says they are the Answer to Gun Control?

In what world does any of this make sense? While the mainstream media refuses to cover this aspect of the story, and not one of the so-called journalists interviewing Johnson had the balls to ask him about it, the fact is the Orlando Terrorist was employed by a Department of Homeland Security Contractor.
Yep you heard that right; while the media tries to shift the blame to those magical guns that somehow cause these shootings, the real story is yet again ignored.
The Islamic terrorist who carried out the Orlando attack was employed by G4S security company as a licensed, professional security guard with the ability to carry a firearm on duty. He worked at the company for a number of years, even while under investigation for his terrorist ties by the FBI.
G4S is contracted by the Department of Homeland Security to protect federal buildings, including nuclear facilities, and is responsible for providing security protocol for major transportation hubs around the country. The are also responsible for transporting illegal immigrants from the border.
So the same Department of Homeland Security who couldn’t stop a terrorist from gaining security clearance and DHS Contractor training is now going to be responsible for who gets a gun?
The Orlando terrorist was interviewed by the FBI at least three separate times and was under investigation for 10 months in 2013. At no time during that investigation did DHS revoke this psycho’s security clearance. Instead of worrying about taking guns away from Americans, maybe DHS should focus on doing their job
