Iran Preparing For Armageddon?

As we watch the news in the Middle East, we have to always remember the primary motivations for Iran's actions:

Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has held several secret meetings with his economic and military advisers in recent days to prepare for the possibility of war with the United States.

Khamenei has been heard to say that the coming of the last Islamic Messiah, the Shiites’ 12th Imam Mahdi, is near and that specific actions need to be taken to protect the Islamic regime for upcoming events.

Mahdi, according to Shiite belief, will reappear at the time of Armageddon.

Selected forces within the Revolutionary Guards and Basij reportedly have been trained under a task force called “Soldiers of Imam Mahdi” and they will bear the responsibility of security and protecting the regime against uprisings. Many in the Guards and Basij have been told that the 12th Imam is on earth, facilitated the victory of Hezbollah over Israel in the 2006 war and soon will announce publicly his presence after the needed environment is created.

The plan by the leader calls for total control of Tehran, the capital where the presence of the Basij and Hezbollah militias would be quite visible so that no one would dare to challenge the regime.

This news comes in light of the formation of the “Removal Committee,” which secretly would eliminate all deemed as opponents, even within the military and the government.

Khamenei’s extraordinary measures are based either on an understanding that war could be imminent or that the regime has decided to announce it has nuclear capability and is getting ready for a possible reaction from Israel or America.

Last March, a Iranian secret documentary, “The Coming Is Upon Us,” was revealed to depict Khamenei as the mythical figure who creates the environment for the reappearance of Mahdi by leading Iran to destroy Israel.

Below, we see Joel Rosenberg's latest commentary relating to Iran:

Does Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu think the West is taking decisive action to stop Iran from getting the Bomb, or does he think the West is fiddling while Tel Aviv runs the rising risk of burning? That’s the Big Question as tensions continue to mount in the epicenter this week.

What matters is what Netanyahu thinks. If he decides the West isn’t doing enough and Iran is going to get the Bomb, then he is going to hit Iran hard, soon, and without warning.

In that context, it’s worth noting a speech Netanyahu gave Tuesday warning his nation that the world has not internalized the lessons of the Holocaust. ”Speaking at the Knesset just days before International Holocaust Remembrance Day (January 27), Netanyahu reasoned that the Jewish people must not put their fate in the hands of the international community,” reported the Jerusalem Post.

Posing a rhetorical question, Netanyahu asked, ‘How does the world react to the calls for genocide against the Jews today? Seventy years after the shoa [Holocaust], Iran is calling for us to be wiped off the map, Hezbollah is calling for our extinction, as are many in Hamas….The Jerusalem Mufti [Sheikh Muhammad Hussein] called on Sunday for Jews to be killed wherever they are…echoing his predecessor Haj Amin Al Husseini, who actively helped Hitler and Eichman,’ he said. ‘I do not hear the international community condemning this. I hear them condemning buildings in the West Bank. But I don’t hear them condemning this incitement,’ said Netanyahu.”

Could Netanyahu be signaling that his patience — and that of the Israeli government and military – is running out?

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu took advantage of a special plenary meeting to mark International Holocaust Remembrance Day to address the threats to Israel's existence.

"70 years after the Holocaust, much of the world remains silent in the face of Iran's declared intent to wipe Israel off the earth," Netanyahu said.

International Holocaust Remembrance Day should be the day the world stands behind the words 'never again,'" Netanyahu said.

Netanyahu added, "This is a day when the world should unite against weapons of mass destruction falling into the hands of dark regimes, led by the Ayatollah and his regime in Iran. I send greetings to leaders leaders of Europe and praise them for the important step of taking sanctions against Iran."

"We must ask ourselves whether we learned the lessons of the Holocaust. Can we take death threats seriously, or perhaps in this generation of Jews we do not see the danger before us? We can not stick our heads in the sand.

"The Iranian regime openly calls for Israel's destruction, is planning the destruction of Israel, and is working daily to destroy Israel. The lesson says should spur the world to action," Netanyahu said.

Iran has referred to Israel as "a one bomb state"

A mere 54 kilometers wide at its narrowest point and dotted with tiny islands, the Strait of Hormuz has turned into something of a powder keg, just waiting to explode. The only question is who will light it on fire.

Linking the Persian Gulf with the Indian Ocean, the strait is used to transport about a fifth of the world’s oil on a daily basis, and the popular assessment within the IDF is that Iran – which borders the channel to the north and east – has the ability to shut it down if it so chooses.

In recent years, Iran has increased its arsenal of naval mines and is believed to be capable of lining the strait with them, a move that would prevent the flow of oil from the Gulf to the West.

In addition, Iran has a number of naval bases along its southern coast where it stations its submarines – including a number of Russian-made Kilo-class vessels – which it could use to attack oil tankers. With insurance premiums already at relatively high levels, the sinking of an oil tanker would be akin to closing the strait, since the price of oil would almost immediately skyrocket.

Hey guys, I just became aware of all of the "strange sounds" being reported from around the world. What do you guys think? Hoax probably..not sure. Interesting though..If they are real I find it amazing that many people think they are from UFO's. If it's real, it should show these people just exactly how a Trumpet sound can happen to these unbelievers. I know its just so very close to sounding .

I love your blog! It is so fasinating to watch the prophesies of the Bible unfold right before our eyes. It makes me wonder, and think, why did God want me here in this moment of time. I feel very blessed to be here to see the final days..(hopefully not years!!) I am so ready to be with the Lord forever.

I need the opinion of you Scott and the others who leave comments. I have started making paper beads made out of strips of magazines with my little one to make as necklaces to be given out as gifts at Christmas. We use to make them when I was little. They are very beautiful when glossed with a varnish. My question is..I have this idea of using pages of the bible to make these beads. Wearing the word of God around my neck. But, I don't know if that is proper, or disrespectful to God to do such. Please give me your opinion as I respect you guys very much.
God Bless

This seemed appropriate considering all that is happening in the world and beside that, it is too beautiful not to share with you all.

Thats funny....I had a similar experience a couple of summers ago on CNN, they had a show and the subtitle was "Wars and Rumors of War".....I couldn't believe it!

Anon1 - There was an attempt at an explanation that I posted a few days ago. Its a link at the very bottom of the news from that day - check it out. 2-3 days ago, maybe 4. It seemed plausible to me - as an explanation of these sounds. I think some are faked but I also believe many of them are real, particularly the one that came out of a sinkhole in Russia. (it was downright eerie.)

Anon2 - Thanks - and we are indeed very blessed to be living in this biblical age. I believe God has a purpose of each of us, in that context.

To be honest, I really don't know the answer to the question of using the bible in that way...I know there are two schools of thought - in one case, folks treat the bible as holy in the sense of how the book itself is handled and some folks see it as paper and ink.

I don't have strong feelings on this, either way and I can see both sides of this one. I assume you'll get some comments on this one - brace yourself :)

Thanks Scott. I have given it a lot of thought and of course prayer. I just can't bring myself to use the pages of the Holy Bible in that way. What I decided to do was to take a few of my older magazines, such as Turning Points, and In Touch and use some of these pages from these. I normally try to take these magazines and leave them in different areas for others to read. Still will be able to do that.

I am bracing myself for comments on this. I can see where people would see it as a horrible thing to do. It is after all the Holy Bible. Instead of wearing the word of God around my neck, it is in my heart.

God Bless!

Dear Anon~
(relating to the creation of necklaces of the bible).

Thank you for taking the time to pose what seemed like a difficult question for you at the time about creating such a wonderful piece to represent your love of the Lord. I am glad you had time to reflect on this and only God knows your heart and true intent of this proposed project you sought.

It sounds like the HS has convicted you that this may not be the true and acceptable will of God. Of course that true revelation can come only through prayer, searching scripture to see what Gods word says about these things and reflection with him and him alone.

Your question allowed me to check my heart and it seems without question that that Lord has lovingly provided us with 66 wonderful books; each representing his most God Breathed, God Spoken, Divinely Lead precious acts of love, service, and commitment to shed his blood and grace on thee so we can have eternal life with him. A wonderful road map we can use today to stay on the right road, the narrow road that so few take to his loving arms and home when all these 'worldly' options seem so enticing as acceptable in today's view on various topics.

Matthew 7:13

Enter ye in by the narrow gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many are they that enter in thereby.

IMHO, taking something so scared and destroying it to deliver a message to others, one would have to wear a pretty heavy necklace. After all we want to keep everything in its proper God given context and not take away nor add to his word. :) I also think a lot about what things we can leave behind for others when we are gone soon. Taking this precious book in its proper format and not leaving it whole will not properly give the receiver all that Gods word is and they can even possible come away from the experience thinking the bible is small, especially if they know nothing of it or God.

How about reprinting favorite passages from the bible and give theme based necklaces? That seems like your goal can still be accomplished without desecration on any part. It shows wonderful love and respect for your Heavenly Father and all that he is while completing the assignment. It's just a thought.

I believe many are going to be seeking some answers especially when we go home and it's wonderful that you want to do something to leave a great message from the Lord behind, we just have to make sure it's the true and acceptable will of God.

He knows your heart, he will find you the right venue to promote his word. Seek and you shall find.

God Bless!!

GG

PS...Mr. C. 'weedogie' is the word verifcation on this post :)

Anonymous, your bead necklaces sound gorgeous. You must be very creative.
Personally I wouldn't use Bible pages. The Bible says to hide God's word in your heart.
That's the best place for it.
Bless you!

G'day anon, what I would suggest you do instead of slicing and dicing a bible why not make it an extra special occasion and write verses of the bible on pieces of paper. You can still "cosmetic" the pieces to make them look pretty.

You could, for instance make a "Romans road" necklace, ya know verses that tell of salvation or something like that.

I personally have no problem with chopping up a bible as long as its being used for sacred purposes such as the betterment of your little girl's character or things like that.

Explore the sacred possibilities of using the word of God. I think the practice of defiling Gods word is best seen when we as Christians slice and dice it "spiritually", that is believing certain portions and ignoring others. A pastor who is an evolutionist and refuses to teach anything in the old testament is IMO a good example of someone who spiritually slices and dices the bible.

Enjoy.

Anon, I agree with Sis GG completely. Sounds like the Holy Spirit pretty much already had convicted you of the answer too. :)

Stephen the market will crash when the church is raptured IMO. I'm thinking that will be the tipping point for both the global economic crash and the middle east biblical prophesied wars.

That is speculation of course on my part because the timing is just not that clear from scripture. Time will tell and it may not be all that much longer at the current rate. Things continue to heat up in the ME and the house of cards economies around the globe continue to teter.

What a priveledge to live in these days and to be a watchman on the wall. Help us to be worthy of our calling and faithful servants as the church dispensation comes to a close. Thank-you Jesus.

Maranatha!

Yes, Anon, I like the idea of copying favorite verses to use in your necklaces. They could even be illustrated by the children.
Dave's idea of making a "Romans Road" map to leave behind is also a very good idea.

And yes, the realization that we are actually living in a "Bibical age" is awesome! Just like Queen Esther, we are born and living NOW : "for such a time as this".

By the way , I know that setting dates is not Biblical, but there is a website/facebook group called "Tribulation Now", which I first heard of from someone on this blog. I agree with SOME of what they write. They think something will happen VERY soon...I know that it is only because of the Lord's mercies that He tarries. Prophecy is being fulfilled SO-OO fast, yet I appreciate the fact that this blog does not set dates.

Scott, I meant to thank you and others for your very encouraging blog this past weekend. To any who missed it, please go back and read .

Philippians 4:6-7: Don’t worry over anything whatever; tell God every detail of your needs in earnest and thankful prayer, and the peace of God which transcends human understanding, will keep constant guard over your hearts and minds as they rest in Christ Jesus.(PHILLIPS)

Dear anon... Why not make "wordless" Bible necklaces? In case you don't know, you take colored squares to share the Gospel. Black is sin, red is the atoning blood of our Lord Jesus Christ, etc. You could put cards with each necklace telling how "to read" the colored beads along with the Gospel. BTW... I have a necklace like you are referring to & love it!!
