The UN Seeks More Global Control: The Internet

UN mulls internet regulation options

The first paragraph says it all:

The United Nations is considering whether to set up an inter-governmental working group to harmonise global efforts by policy makers to regulate the internet.

And this:

At a meeting in New York on Wednesday, representatives from Brazil called for an international body made up of Government representatives that would attempt to create global standards for policing the internet - specifically in reaction to challenges such as WikiLeaks.

Debate on the creation of a new inter-governmental body stemmed from a UN Economic and Social Council resolution 2010/2 of 19 July.

Random thoughts:

I suppose we are living in a era in which almost everything requires some form of global governance. This is certainly consistent with everything we know about the last days, particularly during the Tribulation.

It is also interesting to ponder the idea that the antichrist will have control of almost everything we discuss today - the world financial system and money exchange, plus world government along with the world religion, and it is easy to see how he could also control the internet, the media and whatever else comes to mind. That will be a massive and unprecedented amount of power and control for a single individual (to state the obvious).

Things that seemed difficult to believe decades ago, now seem obvious. Who could have imagined - just a few decades ago - that we would have the technology for the Mark of the Beast, and in turn, capability to control the world's "buying and selling"?
Who could have imagined that we would have a body such as the UN, who would push for global wealth redistribution and a tax scheme imposed upon almost all countries? Who could have guessed that we would already be living in an era in which we casually discuss a global currency and a world financial system?

This is just a small sample of many such signs that have crept into our society in a steady, progressive way, and seemingly accepted by most of the world's citizens. Or it could be that most people are powerless to oppose this, and as a result simply choose to ignore it as much as possible.

Either way, we are currently in an era in which fewer and fewer "rulers" are controlling more and more people. And like a pyramid, over time, the "fewer and fewer rulers" will be reduced to one single individual. The structure is being put in place right now, before our very eyes as we approach an era in which this single "leader" will arise and assume control.

Its coming.

I remember 'waking up' after reading a chick tract called "the beast" in the early 70s and now watching everything unfold over the last 40 years is mindboggling. The most chilling moment was in 1984 when a friend working in sales for Exxon showed me the new technology that would allow us to pay at the pump with a card,,,,now it is nothing to us and I suspect people are skipping over this Internet Regulation story with a yawn.

Jill,
Yea - I know what you mean -- I can recall Hal Lindsey expressing how we are moving into a "paperless" economic model and how that would serve as an entry point for the MOTB.....

And you are also right - the sleeping population meets every step with a yawn...Its the classic frog in the pot, experiencing a slow boil and never noticing.

Thanks for the comment and God Bless
