The Conditioning of the Masses
Here are a few quotes - the entire article is very interesting and thought-provoking:
The conditioning of the masses is taking many forms. One esoteric, but increasingly prolific, form of preparation has been the whole subject of unidentified flying objects (UFOs). I've written on this subject before (a couple times, actually), but this past week the subject entered the mainstream.
Dr. Mazlan Othman, Malaysia's first astrophysicist and head of the UN Office for Outer Space Affairs (Unoosa) was this week officially appointed "Space Ambassador" by the United Nations. Did you catch that? The UN -- a very official, if dubious, body -- actually has an Office for Outer Space Affairs and just appointed an ambassador to greet aliens from outer space when they arrive! You can't make this stuff up!
That's not all. On Monday, September 27, several former U.S. military officers confirmed in a press conference held at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C., that they had witnessed UFOs tampering with US nuclear missile control sites in 1967. These are well-respected U.S. military officers, not wacko conspiracy theorists.
With that backdrop, she dives in to the "conditioning" process:
Brannon Howse, sitting in for Jan on our Understanding the Times radio broadcast this past Saturday (Oct. 2, 2010), equated the official and increased recognition of UFOs with "religious syncretism" -- the coalescing of the one-world religion by bringing many divergent and seemingly incompatible religions together.
Brannon asked his guest, Gary Bates, author of the book Alien Intrusion: UFOs and the Evolution Connection, if he saw the UFO phenomenon as laying the foundation for the antichrist. "I could not see a better explanation.
Because, in fact, most of the UFO writings -- and particularly the writings that claim to have been channeled to receivers here on the Earth -- do have an eschatology, and it seems to strongly, actually, follow the idea that people are going to be whisked away off the Earth into space ships. That sounds like the Rapture . . ." which we know is necessary in order for the antichrist to make his entrance.
Dr. Ron Carlson, president of Christian Ministries International, and Ed Decker, founder and international director of Saints Alive in Jesus, co-wrote an excellent resource book titled, Fast Facts on False Teachings. In it, they address the subject of UFOs: "What about UFOs? We don't believe their existence should be denied. There is simply too much evidence today that suggests that something is there. It's no longer whether they exist but what they are."
They go on to say, "Our own speculation is based upon the study of Scripture and the study of UFOs, and we emphasize that this is only an educated opinion. What we believe is that we are seeing the world being prepared for the coming of the antichrist on a UFO. In other words, we believe that UFOs are of a demonic realm.
...for decades now the world has been in a conditioning process to accept this as normal. Movies like The Day the Earth Stood Still, Star Wars, Independence Day and television series such as Star Trek, Babylon Five, Lois and Clark and Stargate SG-1 -- just to name a very few -- have brought society as a whole to a place where, should the unthinkable become reality, many will accept it as a matter of course. And since the phenomenon is satanic, the enemy will hold sway over the masses.
I look at this and I see just another indication that we are so close to going Home that my ears are constantly perked to hear that trumpet when it blasts! From a human perspective all of this is terrifying. But from the perspective of the child of God, it is one more piece of the end-times puzzle over which our Father has complete control.
I believe it is highly possible, if not probable that somehow, this whole "UFO story" will indeed play into end times prophecy. Nothing else makes sense. As mentioned before, it is also fascinating that the whole UFO "story" really began with the "Roswell incident" which occurred just a few months before Israel became a nation in 1948 - as did many prophetic signs. Additionally, as previously stated, the so-called "alien abductions" have very strong demonic overtones.
Only time will tell. I would normally say "we'll see", but in this case, these things may not play out until after the Rapture of the Church. So maybe we won't see the conclusion to this story. That would be just fine with me.
I watched the you tube video for the UFO conference at the National press Club. At about 58 minutes in one gentleman from the military actually said that the Cathloic Church has said it's okay to talk about UFO's and exterrestrials because they would be our brothers. Talk about conditioning to accept a one world religion and the antichrist arriving and explaining the rapture. To see the comment go to the following Video title:Disclosure Conference, National Press Club 27 Sept 2010, on you tube.
hey scott: (and anyone reading who can help) i`m working on a study/discourse on prophecy and i want to put in quotes from early church fathers (ireneius, polycarp, justin martyr...) who taught a pre-trib rapture. anyone know where i can go online to find such quotes? (assuming they exist) i`m asking around.
i always believed the rapture would be accompanied by a catyclismic event (such as the start of Gog/magog with a preemptive nuclear strike on america) and with all the death/destruction people wouldnt even know people have been raptured. i wonder if the "ufos" are the same demonic activity as right before the flood. "as it was in the days of noah..."
THE BEST work on early church comments about pre-trib rapture is author Grant Jeffery.
I'm in a rush at the moment, but in one of his many books, he has several chapters on the topic. I'll have a chance tonight to search for it - but you may want to google a search on "Grant Jeffery - early church writing on rapture"...
ALso - I have always believed that the Rapture would immediately precede a big, catastrophic event (terrorism?) because we repeatedly get the parallel to Lot at S&G, and noah being spared from the flood.
James, many thanks for that - I'll go to that link tonight when I get back. Should be interesting - thanks again
Hartdawg said “…quotes from early church fathers (ireneius, polycarp, justin martyr...) who taught a pre-trib rapture…”
I looked into these a while ago now, because a Posty was using the very same writings to prove the Church would go through the Trib.
These ‘fathers’ can be used by either view because in one paragraph they are expecting Jesus to return, then next sentence they write about going through the Trib.
They do not teach clearly either one or the other, they seem confused. Their writings are easy to find but I am afraid they do not clearly teach a Pre-trib rapture. The best I could get from them was they were at least expecting an imminent return.
Try the link I gave before to read in context at the Ethereal Library.
thanks scott and ei.hey e.i, do you know how to contact dr nofog? i`ll bet he may also have some info as well
i enjoy Grant jeffreys show. if you can find it sometime tonight, scot i`d be grateful.
I can only suggest you ask Nathan. I suspect he may be in touch by email?
...hey e.i, do you know how to contact dr nofog? i`ll bet he may also have some info as well...
Dawg, EI - if you click on my name it should take you to a profile page with an email link.
As to your question, if you recall my current situation, my compuker, with the other half of my brain in the hard drive, are in storage so I'm at somewhat of a disadvantage right now.
However, after the rapture-rupture wars with the "Mega-poster" Mitchell over the past year, I would tend to agree with EI that the doctrine is there, but it is somewhat muddled in the early Church [part of Daniel's key for the End-times].
I don't recall if this was an article I saw posted here, Lamb-Lion, or elsewhere, but the point being made was Paul's teaching concerning the removal of the Church and referencing it to what "the Lord" had said.
Since the Gospels have no record of Jesus say it, and since Jesus is the Eternal Word, "the Lord God" of the OT, the only place Paul could have been quoting "the Lord", is Isaiah 26:20-21.
20 Come, my people, enter thou into thy chambers, and shut thy doors about thee: hide thyself as it were for a little moment, until the indignation be overpast.
21 For, behold, the LORD cometh out of his place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity: the earth also shall disclose her blood, and shall no more cover her slain.
Maybe Scott might recall if Dr. Ice, Jack Kelley, or whomever posted it.
I have had a gander in ‘Triumphant Return’ by Grant Jeffrey and there are quite a few refs to the ‘fathers’ as Scott said.
I can’t take too long, but I think he only says they are Pre-MILL. heading on page 122 reads “The Early Church and the PreMILL Return of Christ” in chapter 5 “The Second Coming of Christ Will Be Premillenial” p115.
Ephraem the Syrian 306-373 In his “On the Last Times, the Antichrist, and the End of the World” (probably written A.D. 373 – definitely before 622) revealing a literal method of interpretation.
Quote Ephraem“For all the saints and Elect of God are gathered prior to the tribulation that is to come, and are taken to the Lord lest they see the confusion that is to overwhelm the world because of out sins”.
Translated by Dr. Cameron Rhoades of Tyndale Theological Seminary at the behest of Grant Jeffrey.
There is a great deal more to this chapter, but that is about the most important bit.
Hope this helps.
...hmmm i`ll definately use that one. maybe sheperd of hermas (a book) got at least one anyway
PS. Regarding my previous prayer request, I've now had a 2nd good interview and yesterday I was called in for a wee test, which I think I performed admirably... ;-D
Pending the report of the wee taster, er aah, Tester! Wee tester! - they'll do a background check [and hopefully they won't find the connection [Loose Change, 2nd Edition] to Marvin Bush's 'Black-ops', controlled demolition "security team" for 9-11...], and then I should get called in for orientation.
Anyway, as I derail off topic and drone on, I would appreciate your continued prayers that I land this job.
Up you pop like a Genii. Amazing! I didn’t realise that about your profile, I shall have a look-see!
If my memory serves me, I think that it was Chuck Missler re. Isaiah 26:20-21?
Really pleased to hear your prospects are up and running! Prayers for this and your lady wife.
Thank you for that interesting info - I peeked over Scotts shoulder.
Gotta tuck me mum in, then I shall have 'butchers hook'! :D
Not to open another "can o' worms" about Bible Numerics, but what is the meaning of your cryptic post "55" ??
Other than I have been known to do that above the posted limit a couple of times on my Kawasaki Ninja...
It was scary!
hey nofog, not to change the subject (not that we`re on one) i always pictured you as some very old theologan bookworm looking guy with a long flowing gray beard and glasses who looks like an 18th century calvanist. should post a picture.
I think Sue had the right book/reference. I'll dig thru it and see if I can add to what she said above.
Also - there has been more on this, and it MIGHT be from the Thomas Ice Collection
I recall having read a great summary which had everything that Grant Jeffrey talks about plus some more references (it may have been Perry Stone)
Also - (and this always bugs me in this 'discussion')
Why doesn't the apostle Paul count as "early church"?
He wrote extensively as we all know, about the "Pre-Trib" Rapture, and it is recorded in the most reliable book in existence - the Bible, yet for some reason it doesn't "count"? Why is this? Paul was very much a part of the "early church" but people who raise this, ignore that obvious fact.
One can say the same about Peter's writings and John's writings. Weren't they all part of the early church?
And to add to this thought - what about the reformation? That didn;t occur for several hundred years after the "early church" and that doesn't make us ignore everything about the reformation - just because it came later.
And yet another thought - we know from Daniel that the prophetic scrolls wouldn't be unveiled until the last generation - why isn;t that aspect considered?
Having said all of that - the fact is - there WERE early church writings (not that we "need" them) - on the pre-trib rapture/
There have been a number of people discussing that reference in Isaiah, I believe the first time I saw it referenced was by Perry Stone, years ago. Since then, several folks have taken note of that reference - I can't recall who all - I saw Chuck Meissler talk about it on TV not too long ago interestingly.
I just now got around to seeing the info on your situation - please keep us updated on the status ok?
You are certainly in our prayers. Good luck with this job opportunity.
Here are a few from Grant Jeffrey:
1. Ephraem the Syrian (306-373) clearly wrote about a pre-trib rapture a tribulation and then the millennial reign of Christ: "For all the saints and Elect of God are gathered prior to the tribulation that is to come, and are taken to the Lord lest they see the confusion that is to overwhelm the world because of their sins"
He also spoke of an Antichrist who will rule the Roman Empire and a literal tribulation. He also spoke to the doctrine of an "imminent" return of Christ, which, as we know can only point to a pre-trib Rapture.
In Grant Jeffery's "Triumphant Return", Grant J goes into great detail on this manuscript with a lot of quotes.
There are more, but not in this particular book (there are a lot of early writings on pre-mill second coming.
I'll do some more digging
hey scott, there was an author named oliver greene in the early 20th century and a.w.pink. both authors mentioned the isaiah passage. also, if you can find other quotes i`d greatly appreciate.
i agree about paul being an early church father, i just wanna prove without a doubt a pre-trib rapture is consistent with church history...keep me updated...thanks
Any chance you getting into the Vatican archives? :-/
I am totally convinced they suppressed all early papers that undermind their theory of christianity. If they didn't destroy them, then that's where they are.
Ephaem's writing probably survived because he was from Turkey in the Byzantine church.
I feel the same as you!
I tend to use the term 'N.T. Church' to separate from 'early church 'fathers'' which we aren't supposed call 'father' anyway.
The Thomas Ice Collection
The Rapture in Pseudo-Ephraem
Hartdaeg...Any chance you getting into the Vatican archives?...
With his new double '0' commission as "daeg", Hart just might be able to slip in to the archives in their 'drag' disguise...No, wait!
What do they call those black robes, black hats with the fuzzy beanies on top?!?
Confound it all anyway, EI! It's bad enough with yer 'modern' ferrin' expressions, slang, and colloquialisms [ouch, I struggled getting that last $2.00 word out!], now yer throw'n in ancient English as well...
No cryptic meaning on 55. just a test to see if the posting ws working.
Having just recently met Scott I don't know all of you posting here.
Please email me at email@example.com and introduce yourself. I will do the same.
God bless all of you.
Wow! It's scary how these threads wind up off in some obscure rabbit hole. Some posters have no sense of propriety...
Anyway, on Conditioning of the Masses, back in the early '70s as newly saved and having recently devoured JD Pentecost's book "Things To Come", we heard rumors of strange things and wound up getting Uri Geller's book "My Story".
As a political history / New World Order buff, several points gave me a real heads-up on 'fleshing' out the picture...
Uri mentioned as a child of about 5 out in a communal farm field in Israel, "alien beings" told him that he would be "instrumental in bringing whirled peas", No, "world peace", that's what it was!
Anyway, later, after achieving fame for his 'psychic gift' of being able to bend metal utensils just by touching them, on one of 13 trips to the US for scientific examinations under laboratory conditions, his camera 'levitated' in front of him and faced the plane window. He looked out and saw nothing but he reached out, click the button, and then he noticed that the lens cap was still on.
Upon landing in NY, he immediately had the film developed and, Lo and behold, there were 3 slightly blurred, black UFOs just off the right wing tip.
One other 'example'; while in NY he was "teleported" to a friends place a number of miles away, but unlike Philip's respectful handling by the HS, Uri was dropped 8 feet through the trellis roof onto the patio floor.
These are real clues that demons do have power over the physical properties of this realm and to make images to deceive the "earth-dweller".
Unfortunately, the majority of Church-pew-warmers go "La la la, fables, fairy tales, can't hear you..." all-the-while Frank Zappa's classic plays in the background:
"It can't happen here
It can't happen here
I'm telling you, my dear
That it can't happen here
Because I been checkin' it out, baby
I checked it out a couple a times, hmmmmmmmm
And I'm telling you
It can't happen here
Oh darling, it's important that you believe me
bop bop bop bop
That it can't happen here..."
PS. That post was supposed to closely follow my last one for proper effect but alas, I got interrupted and delayed and James got one in between, no reference / implication to him...
"It's been a hart daeg's night,
and I've been workin' like a dawg..."
Oy vey, EI. look what you've started!
Haert diggity daeg! Wot a dawg!
Look at me. EI's a yankee! :D
EI, "Hard Day's Night" is the Beatles, British! Not Yankee.
And I'm sure that wuz you in the AP file photo, on the front row of the street crowd with the '60s bubble hair-do, screamin' yer head off.
Gotta tuck me mum in, then I shall have 'butchers hook'! :D
DrNofog scratches his head; 'butchers hook', - and the happy face at the end... "Sounds like a drink...wonder if that means she's taking a swig off the ol' moonshine jug..."
He checks on the net:
"Butcher's hook" - While many cocknies use this phrase in place of the word 'look', it in fact should be used to verbally exposit a butcher's hook. This confusion about its meaning has come about due to the stupidity of most cocknies.
Mr A: Look at that butcher. He is using a hook.
Mr B: That is because it is a butcher's hook."
Ooooo! Ouch! Better hide that reference lest she get her "nose pushed out of joint!"
James --- How are you?
Nice to see you around here! - and I hope you are doing well - drop me a note and let me know how the class is going!
