More Rockets Into Israel: More Terror Promised

In the news this morning, we see more missiles entering Israel from the usual terrorist groups (largely unnoticed by the MSM), followed by a warning of more terror on the way:

"2 rockets land in western Negev"

Residents of the western Negev woke up to yet another day of rocker fire Monday, as the Color Red alert sounded in Sha'ar Hanegev Regional Council in the early hours of the morning.

Two explosions soon followed, as two rockets landed in the council's open areas. No injuries or damage were reported.

Monday morning's rocket fire followed a similar rude awakening the area's residents received on Sunday, as two rockets were fired from northern Gaza at Israel's south.

We also see evidence of more violence escalating in the region:

Sunday noon saw IDF forces clash with Palestinian militants in the northern Gaza Strip. The clash left three Palestinians dead, included an elderly shepherd and his grandson.

Several hours prior to the clash saw Shin Bet Chief Yuval Diskin warn of an foreseeable increase in terror activity, parallel to any progress made in the Israeli-Palestinian peace talks.

"10th rocket hits South since High Holidays began"

The communities of the Sha'ar Hanegev Regional Council have been the repeated target of rocket attacks from Gaza and the area contains very few fortified structures. Army Radio reported on Monday that municipal authorities in the area were preparing to submit a petiton to the High Court of Justice, asking the state to find an immediate solution to rocket attacks for the communities within 4.5 kilometers of the Gaza border.

Then we see more terror is on the way:

"More 'Peace Process' Terror Headed Our Way"

The terror threat will increase in the coming weeks as the diplomatic process between Israel and the Palestinian Authority progresses, Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) head Yuval Diskin told ministers in Sunday's weekly cabinet session.

"This is not just an assessment – it is supported by tangible terror-warning information,” Diskin told the ministers. “The element leading this trend is Hamas's military wing,” he added.

Hamas in Judea, Samaria and Gaza “is making every effort to trip up the talks,” Diskin explained. “There is an organizational directive to cause the talks to fail.”

"Blair's 'Peace' Ideas May be Motivated by Profit"

"Report: US eyes $60B arms deal with Saudi Arabia"

"Ahmadinejad to tour Lebanon-Israel border next month"

"Sharia Degradation of Women"

The article detailing Ahmadinejad's visit to Lebanon also describes his ongoing arming of Lebanon and this visit will be sure to inflame the anti-Israeli passions in the region. That won't help matters as the powder-keg continues to grow by the day. It will be interesting to see how this visit develops (which starts on Oct. 13) and the subsequent actions taken by those in the region. This will be something to watch closely as there is not telling what he will say and what he will do to ignite the region. We shall see.

Scott, I am planning a trip to Israel in November. Now I'm scared. Would you go?

Scott said...

Absolutely!!!!
Now, if in the weeks leading up to the trip, something crazy was to happen, and war was breaking out in a large way, you may want to make a last minute consideration, but I'd say GO!

I'm already jealous.

Are you going with a group?

Have a wonderful and blessed time! I totally agree with Scott, and I would go like a shot if twer possible! :D

Just to add that my old Mum (88yrs) says she would go even if there was war so she could help to care for the children. So I would have to go as well to look after her. :)

Hi Scott, yes I am going with a group of Canadians. I figured that would be to my advantage, being an American. Our leader has been to Israel 10 times and really knows his way around. Anyway, they have made me an honorary Canadian. lol!
