15 years on, IDF girds for a potentially devastating war against Hezbollah
In a future war with Hezbollah, more rockets and missiles would be fired at Israel from Lebanon in the span of less than two days than were fired during the entire 11-day battle between Israel and Palestinian terrorist groups in the Gaza Strip in May, according to fresh Israeli military assessments.
However, the Israel Defense Forces does not anticipate such a conflict to break out imminently, believing the domestic crises currently unfolding within Lebanon make the prospects of war less likely. The internal upheaval in Lebanon is, however, broadly a source of concern for the military, adding yet more chaos and uncertainty to an already fraught situation just across the border.
Though it has long seen governmental negligence and sectarian division, Lebanon in recent months has faced a nearly total breakdown of its financial system, complete political deadlock, a massive fuel shortage and a poor response to the coronavirus pandemic, as well as last August’s massive explosion in the Beirut port, which caused hundreds of deaths and widespread destruction in the city.
“Hezbollah is preventing stability in Lebanon and endangering the lives of Lebanese citizens as it hides behind them,” Maj. Gen. Amir Baram, the head of the IDF’s Northern Command, told reporters this week, marking 15 years since start of the 2006 Second Lebanon War.
In the time since the war, Hezbollah has turned from a terror group into a full-blown terrorist army, with a massive arsenal of rockets and missiles that can hit every Israeli population center, and significant wartime experience from its nearly 10 years fighting in Syria on behalf of its ally, dictator Bashar Assad.
The Israel Defense Forces on Wednesday revealed the location of an alleged Hezbollah arms cache in central Lebanon, saying a large quantity of explosives was being stored in a building across the street from a school.
According to Israeli assessments, explosives with roughly half the destructive power of the massive blast that leveled huge swaths of Beirut last year were being kept in the building in the village of Ebba.
The military refused to elaborate on the nature of the weaponry it suspected was being kept in the building
The IDF anticipated that following its exposure of the site, Hezbollah would quickly empty the structure and move any munitions inside elsewhere.
While this would deny the military a target for attack in any future conflict, the army said it was prepared to show its hand now, signaling to Hezbollah the depth of its intelligence-gathering and exposing to the world the terror group’s apparent endangerment of children.

Has everyone noticed throughout the years, excuses for those in power, Leadership positions, heads of state, Congress, etc., do NOT listen to the voices for reason, the people, their people????
What to do? So much money was spent before, and during the last twenty years, for our Leaderships in USA to straighten out corruption, end Iran seeking nuclear weapons, had kept known Terrorists fractions from obtaining illegal weapons, had funding, backing from rogue countries, and yet, here we are, replaying an old broken down whiny record, why? Prophecies continued, but last thirty years till present, doing nothing but waiting isn't cutting it, right? If still we are in turmoil, we need be proactive, pray, make a difference where can, in my opinion!
Pre-Tribulations before Rapture warnings, War Drums Beating, Globalist's Agenda's, Gloom & Doom; STOP! Why not USA take a break from this crazed world, become Isolationists for needed reprieve, get our own affairs in order, Military scouting what needs to be done for looming pending possibilities while we clean up our own back yard thoroughly?? We can't play Globally at all, it's time to oust, arrest our KNOWN Traitor's, quench Marxism here, and utilize our Constitutional Laws upheld to go back to square one IMO! In my life-time since living in Stuttgart Germany during four years of HS, and beyond, ignoring much while my great journey in life unfolded, all I heard in background was; Gas shortages, Riots, Wars or Rumor of, creeping Globalization allowed till we are in quagmires, Racism/No borders/Communist/Hedonism renamed, flourishing, all revisited while promoted by our own Governments incentive programs, Hate speeches, Presidents Elected or illegally put in, IMO; YEP, it's time for "Time OUT" in my opinion. Stop the merry-go-round, get America off, step back, and isolate, insulate, and populate, enjoy life without the negative fluff till regrouped, and evaluate how going back to what worked needs revisited, IMO! Pick up what was good from our past, practice now in present, including God in equation, and start acting like a civilization environment we can know all will flourish best in, suggest strongly!! Instead all looked at bad past, floundered in this, and negativity surged; It's guaranteed more uplifting to embrace love, hope, our past that blessed America, and cleanse our USA! Short of an Exorcism, USA needs this to occur, in my opinion!
