A World On The Brink

Just one day of news tells this story.

In fact, there are so many pertinent news stories now, on a daily basis, I may need to change the format here and simply give the headlines without specific quotes. The birth pains are coming in now in waves and it is hard to keep up. What does that tell us?

From the Middle East, to the revived Roman Empire, to the world-wide economis crisis, to the U.S. demise, to the Gog-MaGog alignment, to radical Islam's rise to power in countries surrounding Israel, to oppressive government control, to the increasing technology for the "Mark", to increasing persecution, to the earthquakes story, to rumors of war, to a return to the cold war and on and on it goes. And all of this happens on a daily basis.

With that as a backdrop, we jump into today's news (in no particular order):

Gone is Dmitri A. Medvedev, the optimistic president who collaborated with Mr. Obama and celebrated their partnership in March. In his place is Vladimir V. Putin, the grim former K.G.B. colonel whose return to the Kremlin has ushered in a frostier relationship freighted by an impasse over Syria and complicated by fractious domestic politics in both countries.

Russia was supplying "anti-air defence systems" to Damascus in a deal that "in no way violates international laws," Lavrov told a news conference during a brief visit to Iran.

"That contrasts with what the United States is doing with the opposition, which is providing arms to the Syrian opposition which are being used against the Syrian government," he said, in remarks translated from Russian into Farsi by an official interpreter.

It was the first time Moscow has directly pointed the finger at Washington. Previously, it had said unidentified "foreign powers" were arming Syria's opposition.

Lavrov's accusation followed a charge by US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on Tuesday that she had information Russia was sending to Syria "attack helicopters ... which will escalate the conflict quite dramatically."

Explaining the downgrade, Moody's said eurozone's €100bn rescue announced last weekend for the Spanish banking sector will only increase the government's debt and make its budget-cutting measures even more difficult and lengthy.

It concluded that the Spanish government will run the risk of having to ask for a full bail-out from the eurozone rescue funds
We need a dose of Nigel Farage:

Speaking before the European Parliament in Strasbourg on Wednesday, leader of the UK Independence Party Nigel Farage used his time to do what he does best: verbally savage the eurozone leaders responsible for keeping the 17-nation union on the road to financial ruin.

“Another one bites the dust. Country number four, Spain, gets bailed out and we all of course know that it won’t be the last,” Farage said.

“By any objective criteria the Euro has failed, and in fact there is a looming, impending disaster,” he added.

Washington ratcheted up its accusations against Russia on Wednesday, claiming Soviet-made weaponry is killing Syrian civilians across the country on an “hourly-basis”.

Risking further inflaming the dispute, Victoria Nuland, a spokeswoman for the state department, repeated the claims today, adding that Russia is actively engaged in resupplying the tyrannical regime.

"On a daily basis, on an hourly basis, we are seeing Russian and Soviet-made weaponry used against civilians in towns all across Syria," she said.

The downgrade came after Spain’s prime minister said he was battling to get the eurozone’s central bankers to bring down the country’s record borrowing costs – and amid predictions that the state will need a second bail-out.

Spain will soon follow Portugal, Ireland and Greece in seeking a sovereign bail-out, according to a majority of economists polled by Reuters. Of the 59 analysts canvassed, 35 said it was likely or very likely Spain will do so in the next 12 months.
Four-decade veteran John Hathaway told King World News, “we are within months ... from this thing blowing wide open. When that happens, money will look to find whatever it can in order to participate.” The prolific manager of the Tocqueville Gold Fund also said, “I think at that stage you are going to see gold go ballistic because it will be an admission of failure on the part of policymakers.” Here is what Hathaway had to say about the ongoing crisis: “All of the political leaders and policymakers are frantically trying to put their fingers in the dyke. The euro is on its last legs. It’s very late in the game to expect anything like the coordinated action that would be necessary to restore confidence. People are moving to the exits.”

You’ve got slow motion bank runs taking place. People who see this and understand it are moving into gold. You’ve got rot in the periphery (of Europe) that’s spreading to the core. The core is Germany and ultimately the United States.

The idea that somehow the dollar is protected by some firewall is ridiculous. They are (all) basically fiat currencies, and I don’t think this stops with the euro. This attack is ultimately going to affect the dollar, and it will eventually be reflected in the dollar/gold price.

A full-fledged bailout of Italy is a theoretical construct, anyway. As the third largest economy in the Eurozone, it’s too big to get bailed out by the Eurozone. Of the 17 member states, five, if Cyprus is included, are already being bailed out. Leaves 12, including teetering Italy, to pay for them. If Italy falls, the two major countries left standing to bail all of them out would be Germany and France. An impossibility.

And Italy is desperate.

...the debt crisis is here now. Italy is running out of options. Spain is hopelessly in trouble. Greece has hit the wall. And turning that fiasco overnight into a healthy United States of Europe is an illusion.
Europe needs a fiscal and banking union if it is to survive “the worst crisis” since the European Union’s creation, Spanish Prime Minister Mariano Rajoysaid in an open letter to leaders on Wednesday.“We must create a European fiscal authority that can direct fiscal policies in the euro zone, that can harmonize member states’ fiscal policies, and that can control central finances, as well as manage European debt [cnbc explains] ,” Rajoy wrote.

“The euro is on a path of no return, and its connection with the entire European project, starting with the common market, is indissolvable,” said Rajoy in the letter.

Eurozone Crisis: Banking Sector Could Be "Wiped Out" If Weakest Nations Leave

Analysis by Credit Suisse estimates that up to 58% of the value of Europe's banks could be wiped out by the departure of the 'peripheral' countries

World Bank Urges Developing Countries To Brace For Volatility

The Obama administration is girding up for the shock of Egypt becoming the first Arab country, and the most populous, to be ruled by the Muslim Brotherhood.

The last of three secret polls US intelligence conducted in Egypt assigned the MB contender Muhammad Morsi a 70 percent win of the presidential election runoff, Saturday-Sunday, June 16-17, against former Prime Minister Ahmed Shafiq’s 30 percent

European Union apparatchiks are preparing to lockdown Europe following Greece’s exit. From the Associated Presstoday:

Olivier Bailly said Tuesday that, legally, limits could be imposed on movement of people and money across national borders within the EU if it’s necessary to protect public order or public security — but not on economic grounds.

The plain and simple fact is that the euro's failure is about more, much more, than the euro. For it is not just the euro that is failing, but the entire liberal, elitist worldview that underlies it. That worldview, in a nutshell, is the notion that human nature is as malleable as a lump of clay and that any utopian society one can imagine can be created in the real world simply by writing it down on a piece of paper and voting for it.

And so here we are, leaving the world, including we Americans, divided, essentially, into two groups: those who understand that liberalism's day of reckoning has come, that the debate is over, that collapse is inevitable and that the only course now is to manage, as best we can, the process of changing direction; and those who do not.

Defense Secretary Leon Panetta warned a Senate panel today that America faces "the potential for another Pearl Harbor" launched by enemies who have the capability to wield a cyberattack that would “paralyze this country.”

Twenty churches in Indonesia's Aceh province have been closed down and are likely to be demolished by the local administration. A lower house lawmaker Eva K. Sundari said her human rights commission received complaints about the forced closure of 20 churches from the United North Sumatra Alliance on Monday.

And last, but not least:

Now it appears that no child is left behind in Gaza, where kindergarteners recently held a jihad-promoting graduation ceremony replete with camouflage make-up, fatigues, fake machine guns and a kiddie version of water-boarding.

Ynet News translates from Islamic Jihad’s website which posted the photos:

“It is our obligation to educate the children to love the resistance, Palestine and Jerusalem, so they will recognize the importance of Palestine and who its enemy is,” the kindergarten’s director said.

The children were dressed up in uniforms of Jihad’s armed-wing, the al-Quds Brigades, and each of them received a toy rifle [...]

One child, Hamza, said “When I grow up I’ll join Islamic Jihad and the al-Quds Brigades. I’ll fight the Zionist enemy and fire missiles at it until I die as a shahid [martyr] and join my father in heaven.

“I love the resistance and the martyrs and Palestine, and I want to blow myself up on Zionists and kill them on a bus in a suicide bombing,” he said.

It is just amazing, the hatred that is passed down, generation after generation! How many of these evil inspired “kindergarten” graduations have there been now? Years, and years of them! Yet God Almighty, the God of Abraham Isaac and Jacob, knows them all, and knows the evil that dwells in the hearts and souls of these men that propagate such hatred and death towards His People! It is sickening, that these evil people use children for their evil acts. Whether in Gaza promoting suicide bombing to children, or Iran using thousands of children to clear mine fields, they promise the lie of “paradise” to these children in attempt to accomplish their evil deeds.
Written thousands of years ago, Ezekiel tells us of Gods completion of Judgment that is coming to these evil enemies surrounding Israel, and Gaza is one of those to be Judged by Him. Amazing, how God speaks to them, knowing, revealing the Truth of these evil ones that infect there own children with this cult of death…He knows them well, “revenge”, “despiteful heart” , and “old hatred” that in itself is encouraged, promoted, nurtured by generation after generation…it is straight from the pit of hell and God Himself will put an end to it…

Ezekiel 25:15-17
15 Thus saith the Lord God; Because the Philistines have dealt by revenge, and have taken vengeance with a despiteful heart, to destroy it for the old hatred;
16 Therefore thus saith the Lord God; Behold, I will stretch out mine hand upon the Philistines, and I will cut off the Cherethims, and destroy the remnant of the sea coast.
17 And I will execute great vengeance upon them with furious rebukes; and they shall know that I am the Lord, when I shall lay my vengeance upon them.

I am just flabbergasted at how fast all these things are happening. It's almost too much to ingest, but yet I feel a sense of peace knowing that I can take comfort in the Lord, that I have a protector who never fails! I feel sad for the lost souls that don't have that same confidence. I will continue to pray for them in hopes that they will see the light before it's too late.

Taking a break and pushing back from the drafting board for a moment to catch the morning's post.

Dismayed but certainly understand Scott's need to limit the editorial efforts on the daily updates. I can't imagine the hours this must take. I consider myself very well read and researched daily but don't hold a candle to the amount he must have to read to pull out for us this unmatched synopsis of daily events. Scott, my hat's off to you Sir.

As with earlier posts, its beyond comprehension without considering His peace. These news events should have each of us shaking in our booties.....but the strangest calm prevails.

Scott you're first paragraph pretty much summed up EXACTLY what has been consuming me for about 2 years . I call it the convergance of prophecy . Its simply amazing/thrilling/scary all in one . Keep up the good work .

I think on really busy days like today and yesterday, I just need to limit the number of quotations from a given article - just because of the sheer volume of information is so overwhelming....Which really says a lot in terms of the era we find ourselves in......Still amazed that so many people have their heads in the sand.....That probably strikes me more than anything right now.

Nathan and Marty - we're on the same page, most definitely.

Mrs C - indeed...Pure, unadulterated EVIL. No doubt

I certainly echo Marty and Nathan's comments; and have nothing but admiration for all Scott does for us. By the same token though, he really isn't telling us anything that we as prophecy watchers don't already know. With the financial mess in Europe, my uncle recently told me that in Holland they really regret going to the Euro; and would love to see the Guilder back.

I came across this article on the prophetic years website.
Although the rapture could happen any day, it seems to give timelines of 2020-2040 for 2nd coming due to need to rebuild Babylon, strengthen Russia, equip an army of 200million by China.

http://www.thepropheticyears.com/comments/countdown_to_second_coming.htm

I guess my thoughts are we could be up against some interesting times.

Couple of thoughts on that. I personally don't believe that Babylon (Iraq) is mystery Babylon - I believe its Rome. Even if it were in Iraq, I would lean heavily towards the "complex" that was built by the US there which is quite a complex. Also, even if it were the original Babylon, I don't think it would take that long to rebuild.

Russia is as strong now as it has been in decades. Putin has completely rebuilt the military complex there, and their possession of nukes alone has them strong enough for their end times role (IMO)

As far as China, and the 200 Mil - The "Kings of the East" is a reference to east of the Euphrates and would probably consist of an alliance of military east of the Euphrates. ALso, its important to note, if China alone took men of "fighting age" (16-?) - they would have 200 million now.

I don't see any of these things as taking that long.

Jst my 2 cents :)

Another crazy news day for prophecy. It appears time is getting short...very short.

Ann I just don't see things staying in this holding pattern for another 10 years. We are on the verge of potential global economic collapse and two Middle East Biblical events/wars. The stage is perfectly set. All that other stuff could be accomplished in short order once the HS via the church is removed. Things of the world and satan will be unrestrained and accelerate at a very rapid rate IMO.

My .02 cents :) I plan on leaving much sooner....Lord willing!

I am NOT sure what happened to
what I just typed. It vanished.
IT DOES NOT MATTER...

The end is delayed.

BULLS are still in control.

We are UP again....almost 12, 700.

Scott funny about our posts...I really didn't copy your ending..I just got interuppted and finished posting a miute ago. :)

one more note >>>>>>>>>>>>

ok ??

ANY MORE BULLING above 13,000 again
and EWI counts will shift toward
the bull side....

with the "end" of course seriously delayed.

I will need to see some SERIOUS
SELLING before I am convinced.
that the "end" is that soon.
I hate to talk like this but
HEY, if it's bullish, it will
be what it is. period.

I would say a BREAK of 12,100
heading down
would convince me, real fast.

Sister Ann,:)
Just briefly read your posted link. Personally, for me, I would run from that site, let alone some of the recommended sites he references. Having said that, one untruth is in his using an example of Hal Lindsey making a false date setting, and he is incorrect. Hal never made a date setting in the 80's. This has been misquoted for decades now.
First line of his “chart” “7 day week theory”. Theory? Its as if he is just putting anything out there that comes along, and others can just pick one. He appears to be attempting to correlate a numbers game, applying logic, which cannot be done with God. He is missing the actual fulfillment of Prophecy occurring NOW in our daily headlines. All of his surmising, and calculations are based on his calculating from an earthly perspective, without allowance for how in an instant many things can change. But most importantly, we have to see things from Gods Word, which includes some of Gods Perspective, and this person ignores that, again as if this is some kinda game. Perhaps he comes across flippant, and so boarder line mocking, because he believes he has another 20-40 years before the Second Coming, or Rapture if he even believes in that…

God Bless!

Sally - I don't think so - as I believe "Babylon" is Rome, for a variety of reasons....Some folks believe that Babylon will be two separate places - first Rome (for first half of the Trib) and then rebuilt Babylon (the 'origina;" Babylon for the second half....

I have trouble with this, because the AC will launch the 2nd half of the Trib from the rebuilt Temple.... But its possible.

If you haven't read about the "US Embassy" in Iran, its worth reading about. Its HUGE and self-contained. I believe it would be a perfect place for the AC to hang out.

To be honest, I'm far from expert on some of the various specifics of the Tribulation cause I won't
be here......I'd rather read about New Jerusalem :)

(PS, I pay Sally to say these things :) )

Mrs C - I can confirm those stats, I have seen similar numbers before.

WV - as they say "great minds think alike" :)

HaHa Scott, too funny I thought of that saying too but I wouldn't post it...I'm not quiet in your league, but thanks! :)

Bulls are making a BIG MISTAKE if they think that the FUEL they need
to burn the fire is going to come
from more downside in the dollar.

WHY ??

The stochastics indicator on % K
tonite shows a VERY OVERSOLD reading of 11 percent !!!!

The scale on this indicator DOES
NOT go below zero......so what
does that tell you ??

U figure it out.

ONCE that dollar starts to RALLY,
and it will......bulls will have
a VERY SERIOUS problem......

it's called a 3 down in the dow.....!!!!
