The Good, The Bad And The Ugly

First up today is the health care ruling, and its far far more deep and complex than initially seen.

See the articles below and decide (all of these articles are somewhat long and complex; I'll try to present the 'bottom line' with each):

THE GOOD:

Chief Justice John Roberts has handed a remarkable victory to American conservatives by threading the judicial needle with perfect precision. The initial disappointment collectively felt by Americans who had hoped for a Supreme Court ruling that would overturn Obamacare soon will be replaced, upon further reflection, by the excitement that will come with a fuller appreciation of what the Chief Justice has wrought.

Chief Justice voted with his four conservative colleagues in drawing an unprecedented red line against Washington wielding the Constitution's Commerce Clause in the future to justify federal intrusion into the personal lives of Americans. This decision will restrict American Presidents and future Congresses for a generation and more.

...with Chief Justice Roberts almost surreptitiously joining with Justices Scalia, Thomas, Alito, and Kennedy in ruling that ObamaCare is barred by the federal Commerce Clause, a new era has begun in Commerce Clause jurisprudence.

There is now a formal United States Supreme Court opinion on the books, overdue by nearly a century, holding that the federal government may not wield the Commerce Clause to impose on American citizens the obligation to buy health insurance or anything else we do not want.

So Congress has a massive new mess awaiting it, all as voters prepare to vote for a new Congress and for 33 Unite States Senate seats, 23 now held by Democrats and their two "independent" allies. House Republicans solidly will vote symbolically to overturn the legislative monstrosity, and they will find endangered House Democrats breaking ranks with their leadership to vote with them. Senate Democrats facing reelection will be caught in a vise. Harry Reid will be trying desperately to prevent a vote on ObamaCare repeal from reaching the Senate floor, even as national news coverage focuses on the two national parties' conventions. Obama's staff may be renting Greek or Roman columns, but the Republicans will be toppling the pillars of the failed Obama Presidency

This is going to be OK, even fun. Just wait and see. The Chief Justice done us good.

First, the Roberts Court put real limits on what the government can and cannot do. For starters, it restricted the limits of the Commerce Clause, which does not give the government the power to create activity for the purpose of regulating it. This is a huge victory for those of us who believe that the Constitution is a document which offers a limited grant of power.

Second, the Roberts Court also threw out a portion of the Medicaid expansion. States have the option of withdrawing from the program without risk of losing their funds. This is another major victory for conservatives who cherish our system of dual sovereignty.

The Democrats were at pains not to call this a tax because it is inherently regressive: the wealthy overwhelmingly have health insurance so have no fear of the mandate. But now that it is legally a tax, Republicans can and will declare that Obama has slapped the single biggest tax on the middle class in history, after promising not to do that.

Every Democrat running in November will be forced to defend what amounts to the biggest tax increase-about $400 billion dollars-in American history, a tax largely levied against the young and the middle class who don't normally carry health insurance.

I have said repeatedly that Obama would be worse off if Obamacare were upheld, but what I'm really seeing is how bad it is for him with the mandate declared a tax.

Remember the Democrats got the statute passed by insisting it was not a tax. Now, we learn it is only constitutional because it is a tax.

In the end Republicans have a sharp new limitation on the expansion of federal power, a very good political platform to run against the President and the Democrats , and as Erick Erickson notes we have both Justice Roberts and the terminally squishy, retiring Olympia Snow to thank for this:

It seems very, very clear to me in reviewing John Roberts' decision that he is playing a much longer game than us and can afford to with a life tenure. And he probably just handed Mitt Romney the White House.

Just the highlights below:

#5. It made taxation the panacea for constitutional questions

No, really, hear us out. The fact that Obamacare‘s mandate has been arguably rewritten as a simple tax provision actually means something very positive at the political level for those who don’t want excessive government overreach to get carte blanche. Prior to this case, regulation of industries or people was always justified under the framework of interstate commerce (we’ll revisit this later).

This means that Roberts has just sent every future mandate to clear the desk of anti-tax giants like Grover Norquist before it can get become law. All we can say is good luck with that.

#4. The liberal judges inadvertently brought Federalism back

States are allowed to opt out of the Medicaid expansion without any retaliation in terms of existing funding from the Federal Government. In effect, this meant that the expansion was completely toothless, and states would only undertake it if they thought that additional money offered by the Federal government was worth it. The idea that states can opt out of anything is a huge jump towards state sovereignty.

#3. Roberts got the liberals to actually set up a limit on the Commerce Clause

This is similar to the situation above, except even bigger. One of the signature judicial “achievements” of the Left has been the erosion of individual liberty using Congress’ power to regulate interstate commerce.

This is the brightest line in the sand ever drawn on the question of where the interstate commerce power ends, and again, Roberts got his liberal colleagues to agree to it. The excuse of the taxing power is, as we’ve pointed out above, a trap for the Left.

#2. This deflates Occupy Wall Street’s biggest cause

Law upheld, Supreme Court’s reputation for neutrality maintained. Commerce clause contained, constitutional principle of enumerated powers reaffirmed.

1. Mitt Romney now will have a much easier time defeating Barack Obama

How else to put it? Romney has been handed an issue where 60 percent of the voting public agree with him and told to run with it. The reaction of many people who previously were skeptical of Romney shows just how powerful this is – he has transformed from the problematic standard bearer of a party that might potentially have to face thorny questions on health care to the anti-Obamacare candidate: Anti-mandate, anti-massive tax on the middle class, and pro-liberty.

Do these reasons presuppose a massive gamble on Roberts’ part? Absolutely. Could things go ruinously wrong if the makeup of the Court shifts to the Left after this decision? Yes. Could things go ruinously wrong if Mitt Romney doesn’t win in November? Obviously. But this decision could still turn out to be the nail in the coffin of the Obama Presidency. Or, perhaps more appropriately, this Court could be the death panel that decides it‘s time for Obama’s administration to end its life.

THE BAD:

You can almost always count on the Supreme Court to do the wrong thing. In fact, just about every major decision by the U.S. Supreme Court over the last 40 years has been bad for America. Many were hoping that the Supreme Court would strike down Obamacare, but the truth is that we all should have known better than to expect them to get something right. So now America is headed for a complete and total disaster as Obamacare is fully implemented over the next several years. Obamacare is going to absolutely shred the infrastructure of our medical system, it is going to send health insurance premiums soaring, it is going to dramatically expand the size and the scope of government, it is going to fundamentally alter the relationships between doctors and their patients and it is one of the largest tax increases in U.S. history.

#1 According to the U.S. Supreme Court, the federal government has the power to force you to buy private goods and services. Now that this door has been opened, what else will we be forced to buy in the future?

#2 Obamacare is another step away from individual liberty and another step toward a "nanny state" where the government dominates our lives from the cradle to the grave.

#3 The IRS is now going to be given the task of hunting down and penalizing millions of Americans that do not have any health insurance.

#4 Obamacare imposes more than 20 new taxes on the American people.

#5 In an attempt to "control costs" and "promote efficiency", Obamacare limits the treatment options that doctors and patients can consider.

#6 Obamacare is going to impose nightmarish paperwork burdens on doctors, hospitals and the rest of the healthcare system.

#7 Obamacare is going to send health insurance premiums soaring.

#8 Many small businesses are going to be absolutely crushed by the provisions in Obamacare

#9 Obamacare is going to make the emerging doctor shortage in America a lot worse.

#10 Obamacare has already forced the cancellation of dozens of doctor-owned hospitals.

#11 Obamacare is going to result in a much bigger federal government.

#12 Thanks to Obamacare, you are going to have to wait much longer to see a doctor.

#13 Obamacare contains all kinds of insidious little provisions that most people don't even know about.

#14 As if the U.S. government was not facing enough of a crisis with entitlement spending, it is being projected that Obamacare will add 16 million more Americans to the Medicaid rolls.

#15 The Congressional Budget Office estimates that Obamacare will add more than a trillion dollars to government spending over the next decade.

So are there specific reasons why we should be extremely concerned about what is coming this year? Yes, there are. The ingredients for a "perfect storm" are slowly coming together, and in the months ahead we could very well see the next wave of the economic collapse strike. Sadly, we have never even come close to recovering from the last recession, and this next crisis might end up being even more painful than the last one.

When people lose everything, they tend to get desperate. And desperate people do desperate things - especially when they are angry.

A whole host of recent opinion polls have shown that anger and frustration in the United States are rising to unprecedented levels. The ingredients are certainly there for an explosion. Someone just needs to come along and light the fuse. We truly do live in frightening times.

Let us hope for the best, but let us also prepare for the worst.

In order to do away with the true argument that the Congressional ruling establishing ObamaCare would be charged as a fee for being born and living in the USA, Roberts changed ObamaCare to a tax–which Obama had argued previously and intensely stated was not a tax–in order to mollify and please his true leader.

However, during the oral arguments, Obama’s lawyers ruled it is a tax. In what I view as an act of brazen disregard for the US Constitution, Roberts sided with the Marxists on the US Supreme Court in ruling that Americans can be controlled by the (now) totalitarian government and be forced to pay it for simply being born.

We are in trouble as never before, folks, and I suspect that many more (who are able) will renounce their citizenship and leave this once-blessed country. Under now-openly totalitarian CJ Roberts, SCOTUS has now joined the Executive and Legislative branches. Apparently, this is what he planned all along. With Roberts assistance, the enslavement of the American people appears to now be complete.

Obama is already nullifying the Tenth Amendment–as well as the rest of the Bill of Rights. The States need to fight this as a large combined group. This will be our last hope for survival. If we don’t…we finished and the end will be oppression worse than Josef Stalin’s USSR and Hitler’s Germany.

Regardless of whether you agree with the fundamentals of Obamacare, the fact that the U.S. Supreme Court has now ruled the federal government has the power to tax Americans into mandatory purchases of private industry products means an end to economic freedom in America. Why? Because it hands the federal government the power to force the American people to buy anything the government wants or face tax penalties for refusing to do so. It is the equivalent of announcing a federal monopoly over all private purchasing decisions.

The ObamaCare mandate was enacted as a penalty flowing from Congress’s Commerce Clause power. It has been upheld as a tax flowing from Congress’s power to tax-and-spend under the General Welfare Clause. As the dissent sharply demonstrates, the contention that the mandate could have been enacted as a tax is frivolous. Meanwhile our country, trillions of dollars in debt and rapidly sinking further, desperately needs a debate about the limits of Congress’s power to tax and spend for the general welfare.

Had ObamaCare been honestly presented as a tax, or had the Court acted properly by striking it down as an illegitimate use of the commerce power and telling Congress that if it wanted to pass the bill as a tax it would have to pass the bill as a tax, our dire financial straits might have forced this much needed debate about the limits of congressional welfare power.

We have now lost that opportunity through fraud: fraud in the legislative action, and fraud in the judicial review. Due process would not allow this to be done to a criminal, but the Supreme Court has decided that Americans will have to live with it.

And below we see what could be very very bad. This story may be more significant than all of the above and its barely noticed in the media. This development is worth following closely:

While the entire country was riveted to the news that Obamacare—the most expensive and freedom robbing tax bill in U.S. history—was upheld by the Supreme Court, the President was busy driving in the last nail in the coffin of liberty.

We were so preoccupied with the looming health care insurance premium...that we overlooked the national emergency declared by President Obama.

President Obama sent a letter to the Speaker of the House of Representatives and to the President of the Senate on June 25, 2012, announcing his declaration of national emergency.

The ramifications of this national emergency are quite complex, given the fragile state of the global economy, the unstable Middle East, the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, the weak dollar, our huge national debt as the number one threat to national security, the 257 Foreign Trade Zones in the U.S., the insolvency of the euro crisis born by the socialist welfare states in the euro zone, huge unemployment across Europe, bank bailouts and insolvencies, military posturing by Iran, China, Russia, and Korea, the touted Arab Spring/Winter, and the subsequent takeover of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt’s recent election. We can speculate but we will certainly be accused of wearing a tinfoil hat since only progressives and Democrats are opinion makers and the arbiters of truth. Any possible theory advanced by other Americans would be met with incredulity and derision. At a minimum, it would be seen as hate speech or racism.

THE UGLY:

Syrians in the besieged city of Douma wrapped mangled and bloodied corpses in white burial shrouds early on Friday, according to video posted online, after 190 people were killed in one of the deadliest days of Syria's 16-month-old uprising.

"This is another massacre of the massacres by Assad and his secret police," he said. "This is another massacre of the massacres by the international community, of all the great nations that have conspired against our people."

Douma has been under siege for weeks by security forces loyal to Syrian President Bashar Assad.

"We are in preparations for the possibility of war and in the midst of deployment with the situation in Syria in mind," a top IDF officer said Thursday, in a tour of the northern border with journalists.

The greatest challenge facing Division 36, which is placed in the Golan, is the possibility of facing a surprise attack, said the officer, Brig. Gen. Tamir Heiman, Commander of Division 36. "The biggest concern is a combined terror attack and we are preparing for this in the Golan area."

Turkey deployed anti-aircraft guns, rocket launchers and other weapons along its border with Syria on Thursday, a military buildup that came as world powers showed new urgency to resolve the crisis before it ignites the region.

A bomb exploded in central Damascus near a busy market and the country’s main justice complex, wounding at least three people, damaging cars in a parking lot and sending a black cloud rising above the Syrian capital. It was not clear who was behind the bombing.

But rebel fighters are launching increasingly deadly attacks on regime targets, and several massive suicide attacks this year suggest al-Qaida or other extremists are joining the fray.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said Moscow will not endorse a call for Assad to give up power.

“We are not supporting and will not support any external meddling,” he said. “External players must not dictate… to Syrians, but, first of all, must commit to influencing all the sides in Syria to stop the violence.”

The IDF is preparing for the possibility that global Jihad terrorists will launch attacks from Syria in case President BasharAssad's regime will fall, Ynet reported Thursday.

Army officials are not ruling a situation whereby terrorists will take advantage of the chaos that may follow a regime change in Damascus to seize control of the border region, as was the case in the Sinai Peninsula after Egyptian President Hosni Mubarakwas overthrown.

Over the past few months the 36th Armored Division (Ga'ash), which is in charge of security along the border, has been gearing for a number of possible scenarios, including a cross-border attack by global jihad, which is operating in Syria against Assad's regime.

The IDF fears the Horan region, near the border with Israel, will become a "no man's land" and a hotbed of terrorism. Military officials are not ruling out the possibility of rocket fire from Syria and attempts to kidnap Israeli soldiers and civilians.

Great insight Scott!!! Thanks much for that. I was born in '62 and the supreme court has been making bad calls for at least 50 years now. The decision to take prayer out of public schools in '62 has had adverse consequences, as we can see...Thanks again!!!

How does this fulfill prophecy that Christ is coming?

I love it Scott...The good, the bad and the ugly...lots of bad and ugly in these last days but we are reminded thru all the bad and ugly the ultimate "good" is the soon return of our Lord and Savior!

I catch myself thinking after a particularly bad day for America yesterday, do I really believe Jesus is coming back soon? If I do then why do I get so upset over something that will not affect me or the church in the long run?

Sometimes I think I still must be hedging my "bet" on a soon rapture. Forgive me Lord if that is the case. The signs all scream you will be here for us soon! Thank you Jesus for the reminder.

Maranatha!

TOPIC:‌“The Restlessness of the Redeeming Christ”

‌‌ by Rev. Dr. Reg Dunlap
TEXT:‌St. Mark 10:35-45

‌‌“For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve,

‌‌and to give his life as a ransom for many.” (Mark 10:45, NKJV)

‌During His life Jesus was known as the Miracle-Worker. He was always performing astonishing miracles everywhere He went. He was always moving, always doing, always helping, always working. Notice the urgency of His service when He stated in John chapter 9 verse 4: “I must work the works of Him who sent me while it is day; the night is coming, when no one can work.” Jesus knew that the opportunity to do work was limited. His death was not far off. The words “the night is coming” refer to His death and emphasize the urgency of not waiting to accomplish His work. There was a blind man who needed His immediate attention. His healing had to be done now. Jesus could not wait. He felt the brevity of time. Again Jesus proclaimed: “I must be about My Father's business” (Luke 2:49).

‌As we come to our text we must understand that Mark is the Gospel of action when it comes to the life of Christ. It is a book of His deeds more than His words. That is why it is the shortest of the four Gospels. Less words more deeds. The words “straightway” and “immediately” occur over forty times while we read words such as these in the book: “He called.” “He left.” “He came.” “He healed.” “He arose.” "He served." "He gave." "He went out.” Action! Action! Action!

‌Jesus wanted to be helpful so He got involved with the needs and problems of people. So it was always the next town, the next place, and the next opportunity. He had a divine restlessness to finish His mission. It was a holy imperative. Always going and always doing, was the thing that characterized His life. In the moments before us today I want us to take a closer look at the words found in our text as we think together on the restless spirit of Jesus.

I.

‌First of all, think of what I am going to call the restlessness of SERVICE. Recall the amazing words of verse 45: “For even the Son of Man did not come to be served.” Then why did He come? The answer is given: “to serve.” Or as The Living Bible has it: “to help others.” The greatest Man this world has ever known came to serve. That goes right against the thinking of modern man which is what can you do for me. It is the “me first” philosophy of life.

Anon here is how I see these articles fullfilling prophecy.

The articles on Obama care relate in that the end time government in Revelation 6 and 13 indicate a one world government and a one world economy so any thing we see that moves into a more central control with government, anything that moves into less freedom and more control moves us toward totalitarian oversight the closer we are to the tribulation where these verses apply.

The articles on Damascus, Syria, Russia, Iran and Israel are all pointing to end time conflicts mapped out for us in Isaiah 17, Ezekiel, 38-39 and Psalm 83 as well as Amos and Daniel to name but a few.

We have seen many articles here showing we are headed toward a one world government and economy as well as articles on potential end time Middle East conflicts.

A literal view of prophecy can lead to no other conclusion than the tribulation period predicted in Revelation is quickly approaching on multiple fronts.

God Bless.

Hi WV~

My heart is and thinking is right where you are today. We have so much coming at us right now and since we are only human, it is natural to feel this way.

I have felt it is like a pacing type of restlessness latley. I wanted to find something relating to that, so I hope the above will remind us all that Jesus endured.

I know I keep pointing back to that latley but he is the only reminder I have that I still have more in me to pour out.

He has us :) We are in good hands!

God Bless!!

Thanks for the article GG, I can relate. I am and have always been a high energy guy....very restless...attention deficit disorder was coined after me but God has taken my "normal" and used it to his glory. I get lots accomplished. My dad once answered our Pastor on how he always completed very difficult tasks, Dad responded, "don't quit". He passed that on to me without words but with deeds.

I loved the explanation the author gave from the book of Mark on being an action book filled with the deeds of Jesus. I had never heard that before. It again an extra impact coming from the book I am named after. God is so amazing and the details and the ironys of life God weaves into our lives are nothing short of miraculous. Thanks for sharing GG.

These things I come up with daily are simply the gentle nudges from the Heavens above to share with my Brothers and Sisters while we wait. No credit to this ol' brain :)

Wow last anon - you just fulfilled prophecy, and bet you didn't even know it!

Check out the below passage:

2 Peter 3:3-9

First of all, you must understand that in the last days scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desire. They will say, "Where is this 'coming' he promised? Ever since our fathers died, everything goes on as it has since the beginning of creation." But they deliberately forget that long ago by God's word the heavens existed and the earth was formed out of water and by water. By these waters also the world of that time was deluged and destroyed. By the same word the present heavens and earth are reserved for fire, being kept for the day of judgment and destruction on ungodly men.

But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. HE IS PATIENT WITH YOU, NOT WANTING ANYONE TO PERISH, BUT EVERYONE TO COME TO REPENTANCE.

Hi anon! Glad to meet you :) unbeknownst to you, Jesus has a divine appointment with your name on it! And you just took some early steps right into it! Lol! Oh how it brings us joy to watch his hand move and bring his lost and wandering little lambs home! Oh how fortunate you are that he shed his blood at Calvary for you and that he is bringing you in at the last few minutes that you will spend your days in heaven in eternity with us.
You may scoff now but it wont be for long my friend! The events that are about to transpire will shake you to your very core. The Bible says mens hearts will fail them in fear from what is coming. Pay attention to what is going on around you. You are not blind. How did a book, written by men thousands of years ago accurately predict all that is currently coming to pass? With 100% accuracy by the way!!!! The Bible is the living word of God, not just some words spewed out by now dead men.
So much I would like to share with you but the Holy Spirit will lead you to your destination. Blessings to you! Yoy have many praying for you now!

anon, I was where you are a long time ago. I was drowning in my own unbelief. It made no sense to me, why would anyone believe in this? I cant explain what happened to me in words. God followed me, God pursued me...He lifted the scales from my eyes. I was someone who knew NOTHING about the Bible, NOTHING. God doesnt care, HE is after your heart, He showed Himself real to me. I cant explain what happened to me so many years ago except He changed my life, my heart. If you ask Him to make Himself real to you, if you ask in sincerity, HE WILL.

I wanted to add that although I knew nothing about the bible before, since Jesus has come into my life it all makes sense to me now. It has come alive to me...its not something in my head. Something as dramatic as a complete life change OVERNIGHT is something real and something only God Himself can do for you.

I share a lot of the same feelings as you do about the soon return of our Lord Jesus. With the loss of our personal freedoms and the looming one-world government Scripture is being fulfilled to the letter. However my mom and dad had a lot of these same feelings when Hitler invaded Holland. There was also a widespread perception that he was the AC. So while I agree that He will return soon, we need to be prepared for the possibility that we'll still be here for a while. We just need to trust Almighty God that He knows what's best. We can rest assured that what He says in his word WILL come to pass. Anon, I wish you would clean up your language, or at least have the GUTS to identify yourself.

wow, why on earth are you on a prophecy site for people who DO believe then? You are free to believe in what ever you choose, but so are we, right? Why does it bother you so much if I choose to believe in God? Anyways, I'll be praying for you whether you believe it will do any good or not! Hope you have a lovely day

I find it more than interesting that an old testament prophet wrote more than 2500 years ago that Turkey, Iran and Russia would come against Israel in the last days in a battle known as Gog-magog. We now see these alliances forming and movement building in the direction of this very war taking place before our eyes.

Until 10 years ago Russia and Iran were enemies and Turkey was practically a NATO member. No man would have seen this as a possibility!

Also consider the miracle of a small nation of Jews regathering in a single day after being disbanded for several centuries. This has never occured in all of human history. The odds of this occuring without God's involvement are impossible. This was predicted several places in Scripture.

The rebuilding of the holy Temple in Jerusalem also presently looks impossible. It will also take place very soon just as sure as the sun will rise in the morning. You can bank on it because God thru his prophets said it would!

God tells us how and what will occur during the 7 year great tribulation period and we can see these things lining up daily as we read our newspapers. Who would have ever thought America would give up or loose our sovereignty just 5 years ago? In order to have a one world government that must occur and we are daily seeing evidence of this very real possibility.

The good news no man has to suffer this wrath that God will pout out on mankind.(coming very soon) He has promised those who have been saved by the shed blood of his son Jesus that they will not endure the coming wrath.

Romans 10:9 says, "If you confess with your mouth Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart God raised Him from the dead you will be saved"

God is offering all men a life raft, I pray you take it.

You can thank my Christian dad who sent me this blog. I wouldn't have never known about it, but for some reason Christians believe that they are the only ones who can be right even though it is beyond ludicrous the stuff you believe.
Please don't pray for me. I'm happy, healthy and living a good fulfilling life. Save your prayers for those athletes who think god gives a crap if they win the championship or not. Seems like that's important to Christians.

Anon, you forget that Daniel prophesied the split of the Greek empire into 4 before the Greek empire existed. You forget that dreams of "prophets" hundreds-if not thousands- of years before Christ was born coincide perfectly with the journals and letters written by Christ's apostles. Also, you forget Isaiah prophesying modern Israel being born in a day. You're ignoring many fulfilled prophesies both modern and historical, and the ones that appear to be lining up to be fulfilled. The alliance of Gog-Magog is being made. If you choose to ignore it and scoff at those who watch it, that's your decision.

Oh anon-you are so lucky to have a dad who loves you so much! Please try and prove us wrong! Yes there are many gods but only one who is the Tru and Living God! Satan has you blinded but not for long. The Holy Spirit is on you and your life is about to change dramatically!
I agree with the person who said to ask God to show himself to you. If he is not real then so what, right?
Oh, the sports thing :( I guess you think Christians are these right wing jerks who are super judgemental, really ignorant, holier than thou out of touch with reality jock types. Yeah, there are people like that who call themselves christians for sure. But I can call myself a tomato, doesn't make me one! Lol!
Would it surprise you to know I have friends who are muslim, transgendered, bums and rockstars, hippies, bikers, trance and electronica,d.j.'s, performance artists, lawyers, bankers etc. And more ! Cant find a local church who preaches and teaches the truth so I come here to fellowship with "real christians" who see the signs coming fast!
And I don't like sports. I find them meanimgless, a waste of my time and boring! Also very perverted. Apparently being a pro athlete now lets you get away with all sorts of horrid behavior and I wouldnt like a child to be influenced by that.
If you ever saw me, you would be astonished. I do not fit your percieved stereotype.
Anyway SCOTT AND OTHERS-The Saudis have amassed troops on borders with Jordon and Iraq and Obama had ordered airstrikes on Damascus. Caver-you were right! Its very fast. I truly thought they would hold off til after the olympics. Oh well. Get ready,so far everybody but Israel has there nose in it. Thank you Jesus! I can trust in you no matter what!

Stuff got posted while I was writing and I want all to know I was not condemning people who like sports or are republicans or whatever. Sorry you got called a troll but we have haf horrible problems with peopl baiting us lately. Your dad sent you here hoping you would wake up in time to avoid the trib! Cuz you really dont want to be here for that! I think I would cry if I thought you would get stuck here :(

Hi Anon-

Sorry you are sitting in disbelief right now. I find it odd that you would argue without any thoughts to support your views. It amazes me how the same types of anon's that show up here get so angry when we tell them we are going to pray for them. That is one battle you can't win and we are happy to save a life or turn around a hardened heart I'd this is our "baiting" anon who visits us like clockwork. Either way, we are all in this together :). Let us pray!! Give anon eyes to see.

God Bless!!

Anon,

Good afternoon. I have to say, I honestly feel really bad for you. You say you're happy and living a fulfilling life, yet you're compelled to come to this site even though you don't believe. You, like so many others in the world, seem to feel like you have it all figured out.

I mean, it's obviously complete stupidity to believe the words in some book written, as you say, by men thousands of years ago filled with talk about a God we don't see. Humans today have
science, "facts" and our obviously
superior intellect to guide us. Given our technology, economies and other advances, we must be substantially smarter than those ignorant men who wrote the Bible. Right?

Take some time to study the world around you and the way the vast majority of people behave and ask yourself, what's the point? If there's no God, no Jesus, what's the point?

I once had a dream, which I won't bore everyone with, but the gist of the dream, the thing I woke up with in my head was, "everything you need to know is in the Book of Acts". If you'll just start there, with an open mind and an open heart, the Lord will show himself to you.

You may not realize it, but your dad did you an enormous favor by pointing you to this blog. If he's a believer and sent you in this direction, I'm certain he's praying for your salvation. I (and I'm sure many others here) will join him.

“Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven." Matthew 18:19

If you wouldn't mind, it would help to know your first name.

God bless.

Interesting...interesting indeed...just amazing how "stuff" like this just happens to happen when Scotts not on his blog...really interesting timing...
and the some of the exact same "anon" language used in some of the intentionally derailing recent "anon" postings...same cause and effect too...interesting...

"intentionally derailing - same cause and effect too"

Excuse me but I thought the purpose of this ministry and comments was to be a witness to the lost not paranoid conclusions over anons.
We'll survive the anglosaxon word. it could have been worse.

Anonymous,

There is significant evidence of fulfilled prophecy found throughout the Bible. Hundreds of Bible prophecies have been fulfilled, specifically and precisely, often long after the prophetic writer has died.

For example, Daniel the prophet predicted in about 538 BC (Daniel 9:24-27) that Christ would come as Israel's promised Savior 483 years after the Persian emperor would give the Jews authority to rebuild Jerusalem, which was then in ruins. This was clearly and definitely fulfilled, hundreds of years later.

There are also extensive prophecies dealing with individual nations and cities and with the course of history in general, all of which have been accurately fulfilled. Some of the more specific ones that come to mind are the 300 or so prophecies which were fulfilled by Christ Himself at His first coming. There is no other book, ancient or modern, like this. Oh we have a lot of hype about someone like Nostradamus, so do Nostradamus’s prophecies challenge the uniqueness of biblical prophecy? Not really. Most critics argue that the majority of his prophecies are vague and ambiguous, and, therefore, they can refer to more than one person, event or date. His few specific or dated prophecies have proven to be consistent failures, and others like him are in the same category, and the same can be said of other religious books such as the Koran, the Confucian Analects, and similar religious writings. Only the Bible manifests this remarkable prophetic evidence, and it does on such a tremendous scale as to render completely absurd any explanation other than divine revelation.

Another striking confirmation of divine inspiration of the Bible is found in the fact that many of the principles of modern science were recorded as facts of nature in the Bible long before scientist confirmed them experimentally; remember scientist used to think the world was flat! Here are some samples:
Roundness of the earth (Isaiah 40:22)
Vast number of stars (Jeremiah 33:22)
Law of increasing entropy (Psalm 102:25-27)
Vital importance of blood in life processes (Leviticus 17:11)
Atmospheric circulation (Ecclesiastes 1:6)
Gravitational field (Job 26:7)

It is significant also that no real mistake has ever been demonstrated in the Bible, by science, in history, or in any other subject. Many have been claimed, of course, and most just keep bringing up old arguments, but Bible scholars have always been able to work out reasonable solutions to all such problems.

Well I know that this probably won’t really convince you of anything, if someone does truly want to believe they won’t. But know that God is real and waiting to have a real and intimate relationship with you! That is why we are here, to have relationship with Him.

That may be true of those who earnestly are seeking, but it has also been determined a while ago that certain anon's are doing this purposely to create division so they can use the postings for other purposes. These anon's boastfully admit online to doing this to create a debate instead of helping the lost. There is a team working to witness and a team working to minimize these happenings behind the scenes. Either way the God is working.

The Lord knows the heart of all here and is working through everyone every second of the day. The truth is coming to the surface as we speak.

Heres a little advice to my fellow christian brothers and sisters . If you just ignore the "trollers" they'll go away . People that intentionally come on peaceful message boards of likeminded indivduals only to provoke a response are not "changable" or worthy of a response . So its this simple : DON'T RESPOND TO THEM ! They feed off it . If God wants into their hearts he'll do it . If not , Whatevs .

Peace Nate

Scott said...

Its tremendously gratifying to be away from the blog for several hours and then come back and see responses that deal appropriately with the subject matter. I don't have a whole lot to add, but I will address a couple of things

- First - to address this day's post and whether it is germane to prophecy or not. I actually think that is a fair question and WV touched on it.

Based upon what we know is coming from biblical prophecy, it seems obvious that a "strong" and "free" America is inconsistent with a world-wide totalitarian state...Watching the demise of America, particularly those aspects which pertain to democratic ideas and freedom is highly pertinent to biblical prophecy - not to mention the economic collapse which will be necessary for a world currency and a world-wide financial system (George Soros words not mine)

As far as the other aspects of this thread....--->

Scott said...

I believe non-believers - deep deep down in their soul know that something isn't right. We know that God has placed a yearning for the Truth on everyone;s soul and not knowin the truth must present an inner conflict.

I believe this is the reason many feel compelled to come mock, ridicule and do whatever seems to reinforce their beliefs. It gives some temporary comfort.

One can find a contrast in the Christian community (and there are always exceptions to any 'rule')..>For instance, it would never occur to me to visit an athiest website and go to their comments section and start arguing with their beliefs. I just don;t have that need. Now, that doesn't mean I don't witness when the opportunity presents, but that is a different scenario to coming into a comments section and using profanity (btw Anon, I don't allow that and delete profanity, categorically)..

Even in this instance - I could spend several hours citing facts and data relating to fulfilled prophecy, but it would be to no avail. Facts aren't nearly as interesting and facts take a LOT of work, so its easier to slide into rhetoric and sound-bites - which don't require any work and it probably gives temporary relief for a troubled soul.

Scott said...

To this particular "anon"....Look for the truth because your eternity hangs in the balance.

Just read the Gospels - invest a few days and see what you think. It can't hurt, and its only a few days or a week or whatever. There are some simple books I could recommend, but if you want something a little easier, Joseph Girzone has written an excellent book entitled "Jesus, His Life And Teachings" - and in this book, Mr Girzone has assembled all four gospels into one, easy to read book (~ 170 pages)...Its really a good read.

If it still doesn't grab you, then you at least gave it a chance with (hopefully) an open mind, and you can put it to rest.

It may be different than what you may expect. I have heard this several times from people who confuse man's "religion" with the central message of the Gospel. In fact, many people's problem with Christianity is based more on their impressions of Christianity - rather than the Gospel message itself.

A lot is at stake here and the ramifications are enormous. Just what if......Just what if you are wrong? Have you ever considered that?

I hope you will give the Gospel message a chance. Just a chance. Invest a week or so - thats so little in the overall scheme of things - and if it doesn't change your mind, who knows, maybe it will give you even more ammunition when coming to a board such as this...A win-win situation, no?

And I will pray for you - I'll pray that God will somehow put the truth in front of you - I'll pray that you search for the truth with an open mind. Such revelations have happened many many times before to devout atheists.

Hi Anon,

Just one more in the group. We have no problem with the complete certainty of the truth and our salvation. You've heard about the part of scripture that says you must be "born again".

Well, for those of us that came to Christ late in life we thought the same as you do. Just words with no real impact on us. BUT, when we did come to Christ, we got the shock of our lives....being Born Again means we are now of the Spirit, because the Holy Spirit actually enters us...and we KNOW it ....each a different way.

For me, there was one person that went to bed and another that woke up the next day. It was palatable....and real. And everybody else noticed it too, nobody but me could put our finger on it....but I was a different person, thinking differently, believing differently.

No, Anon, it does seem foolishness to you. But consider this, if you are wrong it means an eternity. This is by far the best you will ever have it.

If you become a believer and are Saved and are right it means this is the worst by far you will ever have it for eternity, and if you are wrong you are just a better person for it.

Do your research well, my friend. Take the time to study prophecy....and you will be quickly convinced. The evidence is overwhelming.....and your eternity depends on it.

Anon- Seriously - you should be spending your time investigating the God of the Bible and the truths contained in the written word rather than worrying anout trivia such as 'proof' of people who visit sites such as this in order to create diversion.

Don't waste your time - as time is growing very very short.

You are on the brink of entering a very very hard time on earth - a time, which, according to Jesus Hilmself - will be "great distress, unequaled from the the beginning of the world and never to be equaled again"...

There is still time for your salvation, but not much time is left - please don't waste it

I just want to say that you guys who are being ugly to this anon. person..that is just plain wrong. You are CHristian right? Then is this the way to treat other people..christian or not. Is this the fruitage of the Spirit. Mrs.C. in love I say this that you seem to group any and all anon. people as one in the same. You don't know that this person is the same anon. or not. I feel sad for the poor dad that sent him here. He must read this blog, and to see the missed opportunity that his son may have had. One can be stumbled very easily. What IF he was searching, what IF God had his hand on him, the HS was working on Him. We are sometimes quick to think some are beyond being saved ..Nothing is impossible with God.
What about the fruitage of the Spirit. What about turning the other cheek. WE are the Christians..We are to be different . I noticed a few ugly commments to this anon. I was so disheatened when I read them. Many of the Christians here were encourgaging him. Who knows, His heart could have been softened.

Christians should not take for granted what they have in CHrist, and I believe sometimes we tend to .

I write this with good intentions and hope and pray that I didn't offend . I read this blog daily and I have seen this happened several times and said nothing.

oh so very true. Sometimes it seems we think we live in a little bubble. We are here to minister to the lost...to spread the message of salvation! Jesus Himself said He did not come for the righteous but for those in need of a physician! those who come on here to ridicule or ask questions, those who use bad language..THE BEST KIND OF PEOPLE TO MINISTER TO! They are lost, thats why they say the things they do. How horrible to hurl accusations and insults to them. Your mission in life is not to solely converse with other Christian people, its to SEEK out the lost and show them what Jesus is all about. Time to reflect on your own faults and hope that the next person who shows up here, good or bad, recieves nothing but Jesus's love. He does love this anon, whether you choose to believe it or not, He DOES..He desires that NONE should perish and gave His life for ALL. Anons are not evil people mrs. C (and others) I too say this with much love and concern for the lost and with much love for my fellow Christians. They are blind and hardened..they are lost. In my opinion, lost people do not come to Christian websites (even if they say nasty things or claim not to believe) unless deep, deep down they KNOW they are missing something. To all the people who were kind and loving to this man, thats what we should do. Much love,
Farah

GG said...

I will say this too with love and we should just put this topic to bed.

This is one of the most loving groups of people I have ever met. We have spent endless hours and days providing a great witness and still will. I know it is hard sometimes to understand what Scott is taking care of, but that is where we must leave it, in Scott's care, between him and the Lord. If the Lord is protecting him, he will receive the blessings that he has to protect his ministry. This ministry is a Godsend to many in these last days. Scott does all this of his time while being a husband, Dad and provider for his home. To see that purposely destroyed by different methods for a long time now shows a clear intent to create harm and a distraction for mere folly in these last days shows the cruelest heart of those attacking in this way.

Romans 8:35-39
35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? 36 As it is written:
“For your sake we face death all day long;
we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.”[a]
37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,[b] neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

With the constant attacks also on Stephen or Mrs. C, seems to be the ringing theme that leads into these anon's popping out as well. There are many other factors that are just not going to be revealed, I can attest to that. This is how it shall be moving forward. While one may think the anon's are real, the evidence may speak otherwise. If these was truly a case of mistaken identity, then we have a group of all of us to witness, not just suggesting but truly actively doing to help this boy.
I think this would be a great time for all that this seems to personally resonate on your hearts, to step forth and help this anon if that is the case too. We all can help in different ways. We have many talents given to us to use.

We truly are great people with great hearts. As stated above the intentions for division and destruction have been laid out in many venues, these attackers will not even hide it anymore. I don't think God would want us to sit around and allow destruction of a wonderful ministry such as this when we know where it is coming from. It is our job not to entertain in these evil practices but bring it to light, handle it diligently and keep our eyes fixed on the Lord. That is how it shall be. The degree of exposure in the long run will be by the Lord himself. Rest assured, Scott has all the proof over time and in spite of what he knows he has accepted many of those anon's and ones with very popular names back here and has never refused anyone. He has lovingly listened, shared and received in spite of the ones choosing to purposely do this.

My friends, I would count that as a wonderful blessing and if anyone see's a weakness in our witnessing to each other, please, let's all step in. We are all in this together to help. Maybe God is using you as well to help this lost kid, if that is truly the case. The Lord will provide. We have prayed for this person and he will not slip through. The Lord is good, God is great. Many more will come to this person, I believe that with all my heart and soul.
Have a great rest of your weekend!! There are greater things coming for us to be working on.

God Bless!!

God bless you all, Scott's blog has been a blessing to me in every way possible.
