Social Media Fascism

Social Media Fascism: Steven Crowder Demonetized By YouTube Because Vox Columnist Gets Feelings Hurt

By: Terresa Monroe-Hamilton

First, they came for Alex Jones because he was extreme and could be denounced. Then they came for John Hawkins and Right Wing News… the largest conservative site on the web. Then they came for me as the editor and one of the lead writers of Right Wing News and shut my sites down on Facebook. Then they went after Brian Kolfage, a triple-amputee veteran who now oversees #WeBuildTheWall. They went after Laura Loomer and a myriad of others they wanted to silence. Now, YouTube has demonetized Steven Crowder of Louder with Crowder and he is just the opening salvo to the demonetizing of thousands of accounts over there. It’s sheer censorship.

“On Wednesday, one day after they stated that the videos of comedian Steven Crowder did not violate their policies, YouTube suddenly shifted and decided to demonetize Crowder’s videos, a chilling decision that engendered fierce criticism from defenders of free speech. YouTube was prompted to take a look at Crowder’s videos by Vox’s Carlos Maza, who reported the comedian for making jokes about his ethnicity and sexuality.

“After YouTube stated Crowder would have to remove the links to his T-shirts, they decided to look at his whole channel, saying, “Sorry for the confusion, we were responding to your tweets about the T-shirts. Again, this channel is demonetized due to continued egregious actions that have harmed the broader community. To be reinstated, he will need to address all of the issues with his channel.”

“The Washington Post was unhappy with YouTube initially avoiding punishing Crowder, tweeting, “A right-wing YouTuber hurled racist, homophobic taunts at a gay reporter. The company did nothing.”

The amazing thing about #VoxAdpocalypse is how blatant they were about it.

The target was NEVER actually me. From the start, Vox’s explicitly stated goal was changing the entire model of YouTube to silence independent creators. pic.twitter.com/I8En63leL9

“Maza doesn’t seem to have a problem encouraging assault on people he disagrees with:
“Free speech advocates were furious with YouTube’s decision:
“Daily Wire Editor-in-Chief Ben Shapiro: “Okay, if this is the game now, let’s play. This nonsense works both ways. Please explain why it doesn’t harm the broader @YouTube community when Samantha Bee calls Ivanka Trump a ‘feckless c,’ when Colbert calls Trump a ‘c holster’ for Vladimir Putin.”‘
Just spoke with YouTube. Confirmed, the second Adpocalypse IS here and they’re coming for you. More details to follow. Stay tuned.

Maza is a Media Matters stooge who writes for Vox and got his itty, bitty feelings hurt by Steven Crowder. So, he whined to YouTube, who initially said that Crowder did nothing wrong, but then caved to pressure and demonetized Crowder once the leftists got their bully pants on.

I’m not in favor of the federal government controlling social media but I do think they should be subject to anti-trust laws. These platforms got grants and financing originally because they claimed to be non-partisan which never was the case. Break them up and let the free market have a chance to even things out here as we did with AT&T.

We have details in incoming video, but YouTube and Vox have launched an all out WAR on ALL independent creators. Thousands of channels under review!

PLEASE TWEET us if you’ve been demonetized under the new #VoxAdpocalypse guidelines! Will be discussing in tonight’s show.

Under the guise of stopping hate-speech, social media is clamping down on everyone that does not agree with leftist stances. They are killing free speech. The left can spew hatred, violence, and viciousness all they want and get a pass… but even the most minor offense will get a conservative booted. The purge has now kicked into high gear and the gate is closing. Many people built businesses on social media that are their sole income and suddenly… they have nothing.
It’s small comfort that the left is also destroying themselves here. They have also destroyed free speech on the Internet and figure they have won. No, they haven’t. That’s not how America was founded and the fight has just begun to retain our constitutional rights and freedoms. By silencing the right, you empower them and will form a massive movement behind them. Be careful what you wish for.
Why is this liberal activist calling for violence against conservatives? Are other liberals calling for him to be fired from Vox? If they believe in their alleged “principles” they’d be doing just that. Why is @TeamYouTube taking orders from this violent man? #VoxAdpocalypse pic.twitter.com/IbWDZShjvO

Okay, if this is the game now, let's play. This nonsense works both ways. Please explain why it doesn't harm the broader @YouTube community when Samantha Bee calls Ivanka Trump a "feckless c***," when Colbert calls Trump a "c*** holster" for Vladimir Putin. https://t.co/6ecL2SKDTM

If @YouTube is now going to police insulting speech — not violent speech, not incitement, not actual fake news — because a virulently censorious, radical activist masquerading as a journalist complains about being insulted, they're a joke.

Hey @YouTube , does Colbert’s video skit of me getting shot violate your standards also or are you only specifically demonetizing conservatives? https://t.co/Kq1J7QybKC https://t.co/WjxyX8PPhB

So @YouTube caves to the SJW mob and demonetizes @scrowder, a COMEDIAN, because he said mean things about a leftwing reporter from @voxdotcom.

If that's their new standard, will they now demonetize all the rap videos with homophobic slurs on their platform? Consistency, right? https://t.co/1ePY50W8Y7

YouTube says they have caved to a far-left Media Matters activist, who has advocated online for violence against the political Right, and are now demonetizing a YouTube channel that made fun of that far-left activist. https://t.co/ClfczVAQ6l
