Palestinian terrorists fired 60 rockets and mortar shells into southern Israel Wednesday morning, injuring five and sending local residents fleeing for cover. IAF strikes targeting Palestinian rocket-launching squads killed four Hamas operatives but did little to stem the flow of rockets.
Hamas's armed wing, the Al-Qassam brigades, took responsibility Wednesday for both a barrage of rockets unleashed against Israel since Tuesday night and the bomb that critically injured an IDF officer along the Gaza border on Tuesday. The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) took responsibility for the Gaza border bomb.
In a statement posted on its website, Hamas said it was responsible for rockets, which it said were a response to IDF air strikes from 7:00 to 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday. It also said that on Tuesday it "detonated a roadside bomb near Israeli infantry soldiers east of Khanyounis city."
Don't forget - if it comes from Hamas, it comes from Iran.
The barrage followed 10 rockets fired on Tuesday evening, making a total of 77. Five homes were damaged, according to Israel Radio.
Of the five injured, three were foreign workers, two of whom suffered critical injuries and were evacuated via helicopter to Soroka Medical Center. The others were either lightly injured or being treated for shock, according to Israel Radio.
Air raid sirens went off during the attacks and local residents fled for cover. Southern municipalities canceled schools amid the ongoing escalation. Police have heightened patrols around Gaza in the south, including bomb sappers to deal with the heightened threat.
The recent escalation in southern Israel has taken its toll on local residents as over 50 rockets were fired Wednesday from the Gaza Strip. The attack has left residents feeling abandoned, defenseless and angry.
"We just lie on top of our children and try to protect them with our bodies," said one resident.Wednesday's rocket barrage has left residents questioning the readiness of their community bomb shelters.
"We're just waiting for the next 'Color Red' alert to sound," Mickey, a local resident, told Ynet. "We know it's coming, we just don't know when or where it will hit. We have 15 seconds to get to a bomb shelter but the chances of making it are slim, so we just take the kids to a room with no windows and use it as a protected space. It's a bit like Russian roulette."
The IDF retaliated -- again -- against Gaza terrorist rocket and mortar attacks Wednesday morning with tank fire and air strikes, as Defense Minister Ehud Barak vowed to “return the quiet to the south.”
Two explosions struck Gaza City, Authority Arab witnesses in the area quoted by local media. It was not clear whether there were any casualties.
Hamas spokesman Fawzi Barhoum told reporters in Gaza the terrorist group was unfazed by the retaliation.“Israel is embarrassed by the visit in Gaza of the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, and his successful 'breaking of the political and economic blockade' of the Strip,” Barhoum said.
The Hamas spokesman taunted Israeli officials over the visit of the Qatari leader, claiming it a victory by Gaza in a political battle against the Jewish State.
The Iron Dome system intercepted seven rockets fired at Ashkelon and the Hof Ashkelon Regional Council, the IDF said Wednesday.
Three foreign workers were injured in an ongoing rocket and mortar attack on southern Israel. Two of them sustained serious wounds and one sustained light wounds.
IAF aircraft struck a terror squad in southern Gaza early Wednesday morning, as it was preparing to fire a rocket at southern Israel, the IDF announced in a statement.
The statement said that a direct hit at the terrorists was identified. It was the third time in one night that the IDF retaliated against the ongoing rocket by Gaza terrorists at southern

“The IDF will not tolerate any attempt to harm Israeli citizens and IDF soldiers and will continue to operate against anyone who operates terror against Israel,” said the statement.
This air strike took place about an hour and a half after another terror squad was hitas it was preparing to launch rockets at Israel. In this attack, as well, direct hits were identified.
The US Embassy has warned American citizens in Cairo to remain alert and be aware the diplomatic mission has “credible information” terrorists are “targeting female missionaries in Egypt.”
U.S. citizens were also told the “exercise vigilance, taking necessary precautions to maintain [their] personal security.”
The warning, issued Friday, advised U.S. citizens to keep their travel documents handy and make sure they are valid. It also reminded Americans to the updated travel warnings and alerts on the website of the U.S. State Department's Bureau of Consular Affairs.
Islam has risen, and is swallowing up Europe at an alarming rate Europe's churches are being bought up and Europe Turns Churches into Mosques and appeared on Arutz Sheva's Tamar Yonah Show.
"What we are seeing is the de-Christianization of Europe, and then the Islamification of it." Meotti stated. Rich Arab countries are in Europe and buying it up at alarming rates. Meotti speaks about money from Arab oil-rich countries buying up Christian community centers, and turning them in to Muslim community centers. This trend has picked up speed and cannot be hidden anymore by European liberal leaders. Meotti breaks and exposes the silence that cannot be ignored. A must listen!
Also, 'Dan, the Guy Who Works With Leftists' joins Tamar and talks about the hypocrisy of the liberal left that stand for women's & minority rights, yet supports unbridled Islamic growth, influence and power. into mosques at the rate of up to 2 churches a week, reports Giulio Meotti, an Italian journalist, who wrote an article: Expose`:
Meanwhile, we continue to watch the destruction of the U.S. - from within:
If there was no other reason to defeat President Obama in November, it would be the planned destruction of what is left of the U.S. economy by the Environmental Protection Agency.
In “A Look Ahead to EPA Regulations for 2012” the minority staff (Republican) of the U.S. Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works has issued a chilling review of a massive rise in the costs of living for all Americans, massive layoffs in all sectors of the economy, and the destruction of the nation’s energy and manufacturing sectors.
The report provides a nightmarish look at the regulations that EPA plans to initiate, having put them under cover prior to Election Day in order to hide President Obama’s agenda of attacking the energy sector and businesses large and small.
Here’s a list of the regulations:
- Greenhouse gas regulation via the Clean Air Act
- An Ozone rule
- Hydraulic Fracturing
- Florida’s Numeric Nutrient Criteria
- EPA’s water guidance under the Clean Water Act
- Stormwater regulation
- Tier II Gas regulations
- Boiler MACT rule
- Cement MACT rule
- 316(b) Cooling Tower rule
- Coal ash
- Farm dust regulation
- Spill prevention control and Countermeasure rule
These proposed regulations in aggregate, if enacted—that is to say if not stopped by congressional action based on Republican control of both the House and Senate—would prove disastrous, starting in 2013.
For example, the utterly bogus greenhouse gas regulations are based on the debunked global warming theory that says too much carbon dioxide (CO2) in the atmosphere is causing the Earth to heat when, in fact, the Earth has been cooling since 1998 and there is zero evidence that CO2 has any impact on the temperature of the planet.
The greenhouse gas regulations would, the report estimates, “cost more than $300 to $400 billion a year, and significantly raise the price of gas at the pump and energy in the home. It’s not just coal plants that will be affected: Under the Clean Air Act, churches, schools, restaurants, hospitals and farms will eventually be regulated.”
If you love poverty, you will love what the EPA intends to impose on the nation.
One astonishingly stupid aspect of greenhouse gas regulation is called the “cow tax” in which ranchers will be required to pay a cost-per-animal permitting fee. More than 37,000 farms and ranches would be subject to greenhouse gas permits at an average cost of $23,000 per permit annually. It would affect more than 90% of the livestock production in America and drive the cost of meat and pork out of sight. As to regulating ozone, the EPA itself “estimated that its ozone standard would cost $90 billion a year, while other studies have projected that the rule would cost upwards of a trillion dollars and destroy 7.4 million jobs.” Ozone is created and destroyed naturally in the atmosphere by the sun. It is most noticeable over the poles where it has waxed and waned for billions of years. So-called ozone holes show up over active volcanoes. Apparently the EPA wants to regulate the sun and volcanoes.
The technology of hydraulic fracturing occurs well below the water levels and frees up access to natural gas and oil. Naturally, many agencies in the Obama administration are doing whatever they can to shut it down with costly permit and efforts to link it to water contamination. It holds the promise of driving down energy costs nationwide.
If President Obama is reelected, billions of dollars would be imposed on virtually every aspect of life in America, either directly or through the rise of the cost of everything. This reflects the Greens obsession with destroying the greatest economy the world has ever seen, our standards of living and the quality of life for every man, woman and child in America.
