UN - CYBERCRIME TREATY…
Over the past 10 days, delegates from around the world have convened at the United Nations headquarters in New York for a sixth round of negotiations on the draft text of a first-ever U.N. convention combating cybercrime…
Here is the main website of the conference…
You can read the latest version of the draft (basis for the final treaty) here…
Of course, negotiations over the new U.N. cybercrime treaty have evolved into a diplomatic proxy war between democracies and their authoritarian rivals over competing future visions of the internet, technology, and human rights in the digital age, pitting the United States and its allies yet again against Russia and China at the United Nations…
Anyway, today they will finally publish the last draft of a bill which will remove all your rights to privacy. Including:
▪️ Restriction of free speech globally
▪️ Criminalising protected speech
▪️ Mandates governments to authorise “special spying” techniques
▪️ Turns protest & questioning into terrorism
▪️ Allows government to listen in on all devices.
Negotiations will continue into early 2024, with the aim of adopting the treaty during the UN General Assembly in September 2024…
MEANWHILE, NEW YORK POLICE WILL USE DRONES TO MONITOR BACKYARD PARTIES THIS WEEKEND, SPURRING PRIVACY CONCERNS!
