A MASSIVE explosion rocked a £1billion Russian missile base after a suspected Ukrainian kamikaze drone hit in the second night of strikes.
This morning's attack comes right after Wednesday's strike in Sevastopol, a massive blow to Moscow's Black Sea Fleet.
The blast in Yevpatoria in Russian-occupied Crimea is said to have destroyed the state-of-the-art S-400 Triumf air defence system in a major blow to Putin.
Locals reported their city was rocked by the strike at 5 this morning local time.
The traffic across the Crimea Bridge connecting with mainland Russia has been suspended, Russian officials said on Telegram.
"Vehicle traffic on the Crimea Bridge is temporarily blocked," the post by the Russian Information Center said.
Ukrainian sources said the operation was conducted by the SBU secret service and the Ukrainian navy.
Kyiv may have used its adapted low-flying subsonic Neptune anti-ship missile, Ukrainian Pravda reported.
It said: "First, SBU drones hit the ‘eyes’ of the complex — radars and antennas.
"After disabling the [system's] radar stations, Navy units hit the S-300/400 Triumf launch systems with two Neptune cruise missiles."
Ukraine has claimed that it has adapted its Neptune anti-ship missile - used to sink Russia’s Black Sea flagship cruiser Moskva last year - into a new “super missile” capable of use against land targets.
Russian air defences said they shot down 11 drones over Crimea this morning.
The Russian-held city of Yevpatoria, where multiple Russian military units are based, was previously hit last month.
Meanwhile, a Russian navy ship was hit by five Ukrainian drones in the Black Sea, the country's state media reported.
While Kyiv said it shot down 17 Russian drones in an overnight attack targeting Ukraine's south, centre and north.
