The European Union is in a “revolutionary moment” and could end up on the ash heap of history like the Soviet Union, warns liberal billionaire activist George Soros.
Writing at Project Syndicate, he said: “Europe is sleepwalking into oblivion, and the people of Europe need to wake up before it is too late. If they don’t, the European Union will go the way of the Soviet Union in 1991. Neither our leaders nor ordinary citizens seem to understand that we are experiencing a revolutionary moment, that the range of possibilities is very broad, and that the eventual outcome is thus highly uncertain.”
“The antiquated party system hampers those who want to preserve the values on which the EU was founded, but helps those who want to replace those values with something radically different. This is true in individual countries and even more so in trans-European alliances.
“The party system of individual states reflects the divisions that mattered in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, such as the conflict between capital and labor. But the cleavage that matters most today is between pro- and anti-European forces.”
His biography explains he’s chief of Soros Fund Management and the Open Society Foundations. He calls himself a pioneer of the hedge-fund industry.
He also routinely funds many far-leftist and socialist endeavors around the globe.
Massie contends Soros’ Open Society Foundations “are the primary threat to our way of life.”
For example, he cited the “so-called ‘caravan of refugees,’ which is an act of organized politico-subversion intended to create a Marxist climate of anti-American resentment from with the borders of America.”
He added: “It is the intent of Soros’ Open Society Foundations that I believe are the greatest threat. If allowed to go unchecked, Soros will use these global foundations to reshape our way of life in America and potentially overthrow our federal institutions by the insidious advancement of protocols designed to subvert our culture and government.”
While “Soros casts himself as a great philanthropist and propagator of the advancement of poor and disaffected persons worldwide. In reality he is a manipulator of global currencies and a destroyer of sovereign borders. He is a malignant cancer that appears benign when in reality it’s hyper-aggressive,” Massie wrote.
He called on the federal government to investigate “every penny, every one of his foundations, everyone involved in the management of his foundations and every group that either directly or indirectly receive funding from him. The Ku Klux Klan was guilty of terrorizing Americans based upon the color of their skin, but they weren’t guilty of trying to overthrow America.”
In his commentary, Soros explains that Germany is the EU’s dominant country, and the main political alliance there is the Christian Democratic Union in combination with the Christian Social Union.
But the alliance is failing, he said, because another political group, Alternative Fur Deutschland, has begun taking seats in parliament.
AfD, he pointed out, isn’t behind the big-EU agenda.
He said the EU’s mandates for immigration drove the electorate there into the “anti-European League party.”
“A similar reordering of party systems is happening in France, Poland, Sweden and probably elsewhere,” he wrote.
Noting that opponents of President Trump have insisted building a wall on the southern border is immoral, the Daily Caller embarked on an investigative series it calls “Walls Across America.”
After traveling to former President Obama’s home in Washington, D.C., it went to the mansion owned by billionaire activist George Soros in the Hamptons, east of New York City.
“The point of this is not to troll George Soros,” said the Daily Caller’s Benny Johnson in a video, with Soros’ 10-foot wall in the background. “He’s a wealthy man. He has a family. He has a wife. He has things he wants to protect.
“He chooses to protect his property with a wall. With security, with cameras, with guards.”
