Author Dan Brown: Collective Consciousness To Replace God, Oxford Univ. Student Union Bans Christian Union From Fair

Collective consciousness to replace God - author Dan Brown

Humanity no longer needs God but may with the help of artificial intelligence develop a new form of collective consciousness that fulfils the role of religion, U.S. author Dan Brown said on Thursday.

Brown made the provocative remark at the Frankfurt Book Fair where he was promoting his new novel, "Origin", the fifth outing for Harvard "symbology" professor Robert Langdon, the protagonist of "The Da Vinci Code", a book that questioned the history of Christianity.

"Origin" was inspired by the question "Will God survive science?", said Brown, adding that this had never happened in the history of humanity.

"Are we naive today to believe that the gods of the present will survive and be here in a hundred years?" Brown, 53, told a packed news conference.

He recognised that his views may not be welcomed by clerics, but called for greater harmony between the world's great religions and those who profess no faith.
"Christianity, Judaism and Islam all share a gospel, loosely, and it's important that we all realise that," he said. "Our religions are much more similar than they are different."
Turning to the future, Brown said technological change and the development of artificial intelligence would transform the concept of the divine.
"We will start to find our spiritual experiences through our interconnections with each other," he said, forecasting the emergence of "some form of global consciousness that we perceive and that becomes our divine".
"Our need for that exterior god, that sits up there and judges us ... will diminish and eventually disappear."

An Oxford University student union reportedly barred the Christian Union from setting up a stall at a college freshers' fair, with a representative calling Christianity "an excuse for homophobia and neo-colonialism."
Oxford University student newspaper Cherwell reported on Sunday of a leaked email chain, which reveals that the incident involving Christian Union took place at Balliol College, a constituent college of the University of Oxford in England.
Student union Vice President Freddy Potts reportedly said:
"We recognize the wonderful advantages in having CU representatives at the Fresher's Fair, but are concerned that there is potential for harm to freshers who are already struggling to feel welcome in Oxford.
"Christianity's influence on many marginalized communities has been damaging in its methods of conversion and rules of practice, and is still used in many places as an excuse for homophobia and certain forms of neo-colonialism."
Students have hit back against the decision, however, and passed a motion unanimously on Sunday, calling it a "violation of free speech and religious freedom."
"The Balliol JCR (student union) should not make judgement regarding the legitimacy of faith groups or religious expression," the motion read.
"It is the student union that is rewriting history and using cheap smears to spread falsehoods with regards to Christianity."

Several surveys over the past year have documented the continued decline of Christianity in the U.K. The Benedict XVI Center for Religion and Society reported in May that the U.K.'s nonreligious population is now bigger than its combined Christian one.

What is more, 26 believers were found to be abandoning the faith for every atheist or agnostic who decides to become a Christian.

In the 6-minute video shown below, author Tom Horn explains why Pope Francis might not be the one who fulfills St. Malachy’s 878-year-old prophecy, which foretold specific details of each of the final 112 Popes, concluding with Petrus Romanus, which means Peter the Roman, who will be serving as Pope when Rome is destroyed and God judges His people.

Malachy wrote the following prophecy about the 112th Pope.

“In the final persecution of the Holy Roman Church, there will sit Peter the Roman, who will pasture his sheep in many tribulations, and when these things are finished, the city of seven hills will be destroyed, and the dreadful judge will judge his people. The End.” (see the complete post)

In 2011, Tom Horn accurately predicted the 2012 resignation of Pope Benedict XVI, the 265th Pope. Pope Francis replaced him, taking office on March 13, 2013. Everyone agrees Pope Benedict XVI was the 111th Pope since Malachy’s prophecy. So, Pope Francis appears to be the 112th, the one who must fulfill the prophecy. However, Tom Horn believes Pope Francis is not the one.

“I believe Pope Francis was not canonically elected. I believe some hanky-panky went on in the conclave. In fact, I think that has something to do with why he picked St. Francis of Assisi as his namesake. His real name is Bergoglio, as you know, because Francis of Assisi prophesied about the final Pope and he said he will not be canonically elected. Now that means that he’s a placeholder for reasons that we can’t quite figure out, but I believe he’s either going to be removed from office or he’s going to step down like Benedict did, soon. And the guy that comes up to take his place is actually going to be the real Pope 112 by election, Petrus Romanus.
The people that actually… some of the Cardinals that voted for Pope Francis now want him to step down. They’ve published this. It’s in the news. They want him to step down and they want him to be replaced by the Secretary of State at the Vatican whose name literally means Petrus Romanus, Peter the Roman.”
The Vatican’s current Secretary of State, commonly known as the Cardinal Secretary of State, is Pietro Parolin, shown in the photo above with President Obama. Parolin seems to be a better fit for the title of Peter the Roman than Pope Francis for several reasons.

  • First, his real name is Pietro, which is Italian for Petrus (Latin) or Peter (English). I was unable to find the definition of Parolin.
  • Second, unlike Pope Francis, who is a native of Argentina, Parolin is a native of Italy, which makes him a better fit to be called Peter the Roman.
  • Third, Parolin is currently 62 years old, 18 years younger than Pope Francis which makes him more likely to live long enough to fulfill St. Malachy’s prophecy of being in office during the destruction of Rome. At age 80, it seems like a stretch for Pope Francis to live long enough to fulfill the prophecies.
If Tom Horn is correct about Pope Francis being replaced by Pietro Parolin, and if the final Pope is the second beast identified in Revelation 13, also known as the False Prophet, then it would appear Pope Francis has only been preparing the way for the one who comes after him...

With President Trump's recent White House meeting with top generals showing the dire urgency to which the situation on the Korean peninsula has deteriorated to, with even Department of Defense head James Mattis recently warning the US Army to stand ready for war with North Korea, we take a look within this story at the latest emerging signs that war may not be able to be avoided but should it somehow be dodged, President Trump should probably win a Nobel Peace prize.

In this new story over at The Express that the Drudge Report linked to this morning they report that according to North Korea's foreign minister Ri Yong Ho, President Trump has already lit the wick of war against North Korea and its their duty to put that to an end: "We need to settle the final score, only with a hail of fire, not words."

With global mega-bank JPMorgan's recent change of their bylaws to include a section on 'nuclear disaster' and 'world war 3' as seen at this filing at the SEC also helping to put an exclamation point upon how close the world might be to nuclear war, as Jeremiah Johnson recently reminded us recently over at SHTFPlan, "these bankers have firsthand knowledge of what is going to happen"

And while the US recently sent a 2nd nuclear warship and 7,500 marines within striking distance of North Korea as shared in this new story over at the Daily Star, the fact that North Korean hackers have allegedly stolen 235 gigs of US/South Korean war plans with information on both Kim Jong Un assassination plans and nuclear war strikes underlies the perilous waters both sides are now swimming in.

With President Trump on Hannity last night telling Sean the United States WILL stop North Korea's nuclear program as heard in the 1st video below while North Korea vows to continue their program despite the US threats and the condemnation of most of the world, we've reached a 'between a rock and a hard place' scenario that could bring disaster.

And we find it interesting that with apocalyptic fires on one coastwhile deadly and possibly geoengineered hurricanes and floods hit the other coast, only a new deadly war or a meteor strike upon the planet remains to feel like prophecy from long ago is unfolding before our eyes as wars and rumors of wars continue to swirl all around us.
