U.S. Gov Plans For 'Worst Case Scenario' EMP Solar Event

U.S. Gov Plans For "Worst Case Scenario" EMP From Solar Event - Lights Out!

While those prepping for an Electromagnetic Pulse (EMP) are often considered conspiracy theorists, another huge entity can be added to the list of "survivalists" that are preparing for a scenario where America's power grid gets totally knocked offline.... the U.S. Government.

According to multiple reports, including Tech TimesThe Daily MailWashington PostNewser and others, the U.S. government is actively preparing for a "worst case scenario" which would involve a solar event that would knock out all electrical systems.

On October 29, 2015 The White House.gov website announced the actions they were taking to prepare for a solar event such as the 1859 Carrington Event, which if another were to occur of that magnitude today, would send modern civilization back to the dark ages, no electricity, no Intenet, no phones, etc....  and experts have estimated such an event could kill 9 out of 10 Americans.

According to the White House announcement, documents including the National Space Weather Strategy and the National Space Weather Action Plan have been unvelied to inform the public of the actions being taken in the event of a catastrophic solar flare, which includes; The U.S. Air Force, in partnership with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, will make publicly available space environment data to validate and improve space-weather forecasting.; The Administration, in keeping with national priorities of opening up government information and using innovation and technology to support disaster response and recovery, is launching a Space Weather Data Initiative.; The Department of State is committing to hosting a series of international workshops and meetings, based in DC, to increase international collaboration around space-weather preparedness; The American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials is ensuring that space-weather is incorporated into guidance documents for transportation-security and emergency-management officials; The National Emergency Management Association is increasing its space-weather training and education efforts and; Airlines for America is committing to educate the commercial aviation community on space weather and its effects.

These preparations were kicked into high gear after a major solar flare narrowly missed the Earth in 2012.

Other experts have weighed in, evidenced by  space weather consultant John Kappenman who states, "Frankly, this could be one of the most severe natural disasters that the country, and major portions of the world, could face."

According to The Daily Mail an extreme space weather event could cost the U.S. economy up to $2.6 trillion. As has been detailed previously, should an EMP event occur, whether via a terrorist attack or a natural event, it could take months and even perhaps years to restore  power in a day and age where nearly everything from communications to running water are run by the internet.

ANP has previously reported on NORAD and the Pentagon moving their communications equipment to Stargate Mountain, the cold-war era Cheyenne Mountain bunker that's naturally EMP-hardened Colorado to be used as a command center and how billionaire are kicking their preparations into high gear, so when we see the U.S. government openly acknowledging that they are "preparing" for a catstrophic event, it is time sit to sit up and take notice!

It really doesn't matter whether and EMP comes from a terrorist attack or a natural solar event, when it hits.... it is lights out.

One last point of irony, this announcement by the White House comes just weeks before the GRID EX III exercises. Coincidence?

You might think this would be great news for all those scientists who have been warning us over the last few years about the impending horrors of “man-made global warming” but in fact they are not happy about it, not one bit.
Here for example is Dr Jay Zwally, the lead author of this week’s surprising Nasa study that confirms that the Antarctic is gaining far more ice than it is losing.
“I know some of the climate deniers will jump on this and say this means we don’t have to worry as much as some people have been making out. It should not take away from the concern about climate warming.”
Does that sound to you like a neutral scientific opinion? Do you sense any relief at the good news that the climate apocalypse of melting ice caps and rising sea levels may not be quite so imminent after all? No, me neither.
Just like all those climate doomsayers who have been making such a big deal of our supposedly disappearing polar ice caps. If the climate alarmists weren’t such a devious bunch I would almost feel sorry for them.

But they are dishonest and they don’t play fair. Not so long ago some supposed climate expert reported me to Australia’s press complaints commission because I’d dared to suggest that the Antarctic ice mass was increasing not decreasing.
As it turns out I was right but this angry alarmist was not going to let a few facts get in the way of his doomsday narrative.
That is because along with the polar bears, the glaciers, the drowning Pacific islands, the rising sea levels and so on the Antarctic has become one of the main characters in the great global warming scare story.
The supposedly disappearing ice was part of the regular drip-drip-drip of bad news that the alarmists so desperately need in order to persuade the public that “climate change” is real and urgent and that only the most radical solutions can save us from its horrors.
But the Antarctic has always been a bit of a problem for the alarmists. Unlike with the floating ice caps around the North Pole, which really did look for a time like they were vanishing (though they have since staged a recovery), the evidence for Antarctic ice loss has never been strong.
Scientists such as Zwally may refer to us as “climate deniers” but who are the real deniers here: those who look at the hard evidence or those who want to go on scaremongering regardless of what the data shows?

Russia is looking to expand its influence through oil trade. And a little-reported deal this week may give it access to an entirely new part of the planet when it comes to crude exports.
That's the Persian Gulf. Where reports suggest Russia is close to negotiating a "secret passage" for its oil shipments.
The move is coming through a deal with Iran, which that government says could open the door for crude oil swaps between the two countries -- facilitating exports of "Russian" oil out into Asia and beyond.
Iran's Deputy Petroleum Minister Amir Hossein Zamaninia told local press Monday that Russian energy company representatives will be arriving in Iran this week to discuss such a swap deal.
Here's how it would work.
Russia lacks access to ocean shipping routes beyond the Pacific and Arctic. Iran has better access, through its ports on the Persian Gulf.
But Russia does have ports on the Caspian Sea. And as the map below shows, that provides a short shipping route into Iran.
Russia and Iran can exchange crude oil shipments along the Caspian Sea
The swap scheme would see Russian crude oil sent to Iran, in exchange for equal shipments of Iranian crude flowing to Russia.
And from there, it will be interesting to see what happens.
Officials said that Russian oil would likely be used within Iran's northern provinces. But the swaps agreement opens up another possibility -- Russian crude could be sent further south, and even exported through Persian Gulf ports.
That would give Russia unprecedented access to markets around the Indian Ocean -- including go-to crude buyers in Asia, greatly changing the dynamics of oil markets in this part of the world.
It's unclear how much oil might be exchanged under the swap agreements. We should have more details after this week's meetings are completed -- watch for more details coming.
Here's to a crude exchange.

Ya just gotta shake your head in wonderment.

Your representatives and leaders defeated in a vote the meager funds required to harden our electric grid to make it EMP / solar flair proof.

Yet, they will spend hundreds of times the financial resources, time, and lives required to rebuild with whoever survives once it has been destroyed.

Are they that uncaring, that bribed, or is there some hidden mental gear shift mechanism that makes all lawmakers "stuck in stupid" once entering the inner DC beltway.
