'The Nations' vs Israel

With every passing day we see Zechariah 12:2-3 unfolding. 'The nations' are indeed aligned against Israel with the continual efforts to divide the land in the so-called 'peace talks' - while returning to indefensible borders, giving up the Golan Heights, the West Bank, East Jerusalem, and a 'land divide' between the West Bank and Gaza.

As mentioned before, the U.S. and the EU are heading up this effort.

Unfortunately, the biblical warnings have been completely ignored:

US Vice President Joe Biden when he met Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu Monday night, Jan. 13, refused to level with him on the detailed agreements which the Americans claimed were reached by the six powers and Iran in their talks earlier this week on the implementation of their first-stage Geneva accord.

This secretiveness has stirred concern and mistrust in Jerusalem on two grounds:

1.  It denotes a sharp decline in the strategic relations between the Obama administration and the Netanyahu government and leaves Israel in the dark on an issue of vital concern to its security.
2.  It is suspected that there is no implementation agreement at all and that the US President, Secretary of State John Kerry and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov are repeating the performance they put on three months ago in Geneva. Then, they presented a very general framework of non-binding clauses reached between the six powers and Iran as a genuine, full-fledged, interim accord, when in reality it  omitted the details on how and when Iran would dismantle the military side of its nuclear program, and inter alia neglected to address the critical issue of Iran’s nuclear-capable ballistic missiles.

Tehran itself has contradicted these assertions as “misleading," referring specifically to the White House statement of Jan. 12 which said: “From Jan. 20, Iran will for the first time start eliminating its stockpile of higher level enriched uranium and dismantling some of the infrastructure that makes such enrichment possible.”

Three days later, on Tuesday, Jan 15. Iran’s lead negotiator, Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Aragchi, went on national television with a less than polite denial: “…different interpretations come out of a single document and that is natural,” he said. “But we had better try to have common interpretations, and that is why during the talks we paused a couple of times and continued with the participation of the higher levels.”

In the light of the conflicting versions coming out the White House and Tehran - and Joe Biden’s refusal to level with Netanyahu on the latest rounds of nuclear talks - Israel is left wondering what in fact US-led international nuclear diplomacy has achieved in the way of curbing Iran’s progress toward a bomb – if anything.

Obama’s policies have opened the door for a major Iranian political offensive in the Middle East, which gives Tehran free rein to meddle profoundly in the affairs of Iraq and Lebanon in addition to Syria.

The following pretty much sums up the situation succinctly:

Iranian president Hassan Rouhani is taking to Twitter to gloat about the nuclear deal his country struck with the U.S. and other Western countries.
"Our relationship w/ the world is based on Iranian nation's interests. In #Geneva agreement world powers surrendered to Iranian nation's will," Rouhani tweeted about an hour ago.

In a recent interview, Iran's chief negotiator for the nuclear deal also claimed victory.
“No facility will be closed; enrichment will continue, and qualitative and nuclear research will be expanded,” the chief nuclear negotiator said. “All research into a new generation of centrifuges will continue.”

Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon lashed into US Secretary of State John Kerry and savaged US-led peace talks with the Palestinians in private conversations, according to a Tuesday report in a major Israeli daily.

The unsourced report in the Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper recounts Ya’alon lambasting the security proposals drawn up by Kerry as part of his peace plan as being “not worth the paper it is printed on” and something that won’t provide security for Israel.

The report also quotes Ya’alon calling Kerry “inexplicably obsessive” and “messianic” in his efforts to coax the two sides into a peace agreement. Ya’alon said Kerry has “nothing to teach me about the conflict with the Palestinians.

Ya’alon, considered a defense hawk, has publicly expressed skepticism over plans for Israel to pull out of the West Bank, and firmly opposed an Israeli withdrawal from the Jordan Valley.
Speaking privately, Ya’alon said an American security plan that could ostensibly facilitate a safe withdrawal by Israel, and which calls for advanced electronic surveillance in the West Bank area instead of an Israeli military presence, would actually “ensure that Ben Gurion Airport and Netanya become a missile target,” which only “our continued presence in Judea, Samaria and the Jordan River” will prevent, according to the report.
He also lamented that the Palestinians had yet to give up anything in the ongoing peace negotiations, while Israel had “released murderers,” a reference to a series of prisoner discharges in which 78 longtime Palestinian terror convicts have been freed in recent months. “Enough is enough.”

A basic tenant shared by Socialists, Marxists, Communists and Progressives is centralization of power. Basic philosophy is collective, reactionary, and opposition to the freedom of the individual. They fear individual freedom, because of the uncertainty on how that freedom will be used; thus the need to control all aspects of human activity. Individual freedoms are the essence of creativity and in most cases spiritual with respect to morality and a common set of values. The very nature of freedom is what enabled those in power to amass the wealth they currently have; yet, these same individuals want to prevent the rest of us from doing the same.
History has shown that once centralization begins, and the momentum grows the more ruthless those in power become in exercising their authority and enforcement of policies to remain in control. Each step is always at the expense of the people. Entitlements take away the power of the individual to make their own decisions along with personal identity and respect. Population becomes complacent and apathetic not realizing individual responsibility and basic freedoms have been eroded, and any resistance would be futile.

The only things we seem to hear about SS Kerry is
1. He is the one behind the European blackmail pressure and threats to boycott Israel
2. He has no concept of the issues, threats, and needs of either side here. He just wants what he wants and has no concern for either of the two parties, much less the suicide commitment he demands of Israel.
