Foreign scientists helping Iran reach nuclear capability
Iran received training from foreign scientists in order to develop the capability to build a nuclear weapon, the Washington Post reported Sunday.
According to the report, which was published days before the UN nuclear watchdog was expected to release findings on the Tehran's nuclear ambitions, "Western diplomats and nuclear experts" said the International Atomic Energy Agency received intelligence that former Soviet scientists taught the Iranians to construct the kind of "high-precision detonators" that can be used to "trigger a nuclear chain reaction."
Scientists from Pakistan, a US ally, and North Korea also aided Iran in developing its nuclear program.
We also see more about the upcoming IAEA report, which will present an even stronger case regarding Iran's quest for nuclear weaponry and subsequently a stronger case for military action against Iran:
The IAEA obtained satellite pictures of the container at Parchin, near Tehran, and other evidence that lent credence to allegations by IAEA member states that the installation was intended for nuclear-related explosives testing, the sources said.
The IAEA will also reveal evidence that Iran carried out computer modeling of a nuclear weapon, one source said.
Iran blasted the US and Israel on Saturday for their reported plans to attack the Islamic Republic over its nuclear program, urging the international community – including the United Nations – to condemn the two nations for their combative remarks.
It now appears that Russia will be formally exposed as aiding and assisting Iran in their efforts for developing nuclear weapons. During this process, both Russia and Iran have publicly stated that the nuclear efforts were only for the purpose of generating power and no activities in nuclear weapons development was taking place.
The IAEA report coming out this week may be a game changer for many reasons. Exposing the nuclear-weapons aspect of Iran's nuclear development (which they have vigorously denied) and exposing Russia's involvement tangibly for the first time will make for an interesting week of diplomacy.
It also reveals just how extensive this part of the Gog-MaGog alliance is (Iran-Russia). It also reveals how close Iran is to having their hands on nuclear weapons - all while threatening to destroy Israel.
More importantly, this looks like a strong basis for a country or countries to 'attack' Iran's facilities, and soon, as the window for such an opportunity is rapidly closing.

I agree Iran is doing tbis. As a Christian, do we advocate a first strike? What would Jesus do? Is prophecy being fulfilled and we are being modern day Peters trying to stop Jesus from being taken away?
I guess I'm confused, DrWho? Are you advocating that the world should acquiesce to Jihadists of Iran, who believe it's their duty to herald in the Mahdi and force the world into submission to Allah?
One thing is for certain, there's nothing we can do or say that will prevent fulfillment of the scriptures. If this is culminating in the end battles, it will happen regardless of our reaction. But in answer to your question of what Jesus would do . . .respectfully and sincerely, I believe Jesus would want His name exalted through the very end . . .which would not be if these times aren't and we allow Iran to dominate as the West declines.
Brother/Sister Dr.Who,
Forgive me please, but a “first strike” may not even happen, the Lord may destroy Iran with a giant earthquake. The phraseology of your question, forgive me again, but appears to lend itself as a lair of sorts, suggesting that if the response is “yes” to a first strike, it gives the impression that we are “war mongers” etc. As Sister Robin said, we cannot acquiesce to evil, and Our Father, Our Lord Jesus will expect no less from us. We will be accountable to Him in the not to distant future. Many “Christians” said nothing when evil raised its vile head in Germany, and we all know the death of millions occurred because evil was allowed to thrive.
Jesus laid down His life as a sacrificial Lamb (Rev.5:12) as it was required for our Salvation, but He will return as a Lion, and will personally destroy all evil, no exceptions! That lamb-like disposition that Christ possessed in the redemption work was replaced with the vicious disposition of a lion in the work of judgment Jesus is described as a Lamb and as a Lion. Rev. 5:5-6
A lion is a fierce, ferocious, and fearless animal, particularly when provoked by an enemy. He has a vociferous and terrifying voice and when he roars, all beasts tremble. They love their young and will stand invincible against all who threaten them, never yielding until death so that their young might be safe.
So it is with Christ, when He is aroused by the enemies of His Church and the cries of His people. He will rise up like a lion to destroy. When Jesus speaks at the last day and come to judge, He will make the whole world tremble.
Joel 3:16
16.The LORD also shall roar out of Zion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem; and the heavens and the earth shall shake: but the LORD will be the hope of his people, and the strength of the children of Israel.
Just as Peter could do nothing to stop Gods Plan of Salvation through His Son our Lord Jesus, we can do nothing that would change His Plans for these Last Days.
Jesus dwells within each one of us, and we within Him. He is now both Lamb and Lion, which when seeking Him as an example to follow, referring to your question “what would Jesus do”, we are both also. Jesus has Risen, and has moved passed the Cross.
God Bless!
Oh, so very well stated, MrsC. When the Holy Spirit takes control of one's finger tips, the words that spring forth are so very powerful. God bless you!
Robin and Mrs C., I am not offended and welcome your heartfelt replies. I was struck last night with the news and the ramp up for another war to change the Middle East. We just put the Muslim Brotherhood in charge of Egypt and Al Queda in charge of Libya. I do not see evidence that our intervention will make things better for us or Israel.
The 'twelvers' are indeed trying to hasten their end of times. Their prophecies are of course wrong, but still believed and acted upon.
My question goes back to Peter before the crucifixtion, we had a good heart but Jesus had the harshest words for him as a result. God's Will, will be done. Is our role as Christians to drag out or hasten His return? The answer would be neither as we have no control over God. We are to spread His Word and comfort and strengthen each other till he returns.
I appreciate your feedback and look forward to more conversation.
Respectfully, DrWho . . .I honestly don't see the US Government doing ANYTHING to either drag out or hasten His return. I simply don't think there's many in this administration that even believe in God, much less unfolding prophetic events.
Yesterday, I posted a link to a story that suggested the young soldier arrested on charges of espionage last week in Alaska. Apparently, the FBI was after him and the military beat the feds to the punch. The man is accused of being a Christian who believes prophetic events are unfolding and he warned his mother and other family members to prepare for the end this week.
I mention that because it's my feeling the government is completely blind to end times events or the role they may or may not play in fulfillment of those times. So regardless of how we feel about the matter, we've no power to change or redirect anything because it's our government that wields all the power and they're completely apathetic.
But just as you point out, His will WILL be done . . .and since we know, in end times, certain events are sure to occur, we should remain supportive of those events that are in the best interest of the world as a whole and Christians in particular. And by the same token, strongly condemn those things that are not . . . just as we always would have. I humbly believe that's what Jesus would want us to do.
Yes indeed dear Sister Robin, :)
It is ALL credit to His Holy Spirit! Gotta go, two hour important meeting online, and whew...dont feel well at all...
God Bless You Too Sis!
With regard to the idea of a so-called 1st strike, if you are part of a "Neighborhood Watch" and the news had said earlier that there is an armed and dangerous nut-job loose in the general area, and you happened to be outside, minding yer own biz and you see a suspicious person creeping around who suddenly sees you...
...He reaches for a gun that is visible in his belt...
Do you:
1. call 911.
2. wait for him to shoot 1st, so it's a "clear" case of self-defense.
3. give him a few extra ventilation holes before his gun clears his belt.
Jesus authorized the need to be armed for defense of self, family, and country in Luke 22:36 "Then said he unto them, But now, he that has a purse, let him take it, and likewise his scrip: and he that has no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one."

Charl van Wyk makes a biblical, Christian case for individuals arming themselves with guns, and does so more persuasively than perhaps any other author because he found himself in a church attacked by terrorists. It instantly became a South African bestseller, as well as a bestseller for WND, which imported thousands of copies of the original book for sale online to audiences in the United States and around the world.
Israel, and the rest of the us have a clear case of self-defense in option #3, but unfortunately, that option should have been taken a few yrs ago with Iranian Prez "I'm-a-nut-job", as it seems that gas is now being poured around the base of the powder-kegs and the volatile fumes are just waiting for some fool to generate a static spark in the area...
;-)
Scott, can you get us a "like" button? ^ :). Very well stated, DrNo . . . and thanks for bringing that Luke 22:36 to our attention.
I completely agree, this is something that should have been addressed long before now.
Hello DrNofog
Personally I would be unable to shoot as we aren’t allowed guns other than under license for sport – yet I would do whatever it took to avoid being shot; and if given opportunity I would ‘handbag’ him to death!
The following link is a bit of a fuss to open, but Dr. Robert Dean of Dean Bible Ministries (friend of Arnold Fruchtenbaum) supports you with this ‘Doctrine of Self Defence’.

Maranatha!
Sue
Hello,
Yes, I do believe in self defense and have several modern day "swords" ranging from Mossberg to Ruger and would use these weapons to defend my family. I do not put my family in the car to drive into bad areas at night looking for an "opportunity" to defend.
The entire Duty to Defend concept is based upon the false premise that when we see bad people doing bad things we have to kill them.
We did it in Iraq, Libya and now Angola. Are we safer because Khaddafi is dead? No. Was God glorified in his killing? Of course not. God's Will, will be done and He does not need our help. As said earlier, God may decide to destroy Iran with a massive earthquake, and it will be in His time not ours.
Amadinajob is crazy, but does that mean we go to war again?
Ahmadinejad is more than simply "crazy". He's made direct threats to both the United States and Israel . . .and not simply empty threats, either. He's backing those threats up with dangerous alliances and nuclear weaponry.
We must continue living on, regardless of the times in which we live. We're directed by Jesus to continue working in the fields. So . . .if another nation rises up in an attempt to fulfill what they believe is God's prophetic end times events . . .and that, in their minds include supporting Jihad and causing every person on earth to bow down to Allah, then yes, it certainly means we go to war . . .again.
Robin- It is arguable that America has "dangerous alliances and nuclear weaponry". We have also bombed more countries than Iran has in the past 10 years. That does not justify attacks on America.
Our recent official wars and un-official wars are activly placing the pro-Caliphate people in power. We are spreading democracy in a region that has no moral compass. We are in effect, taking the cork out of the bottle and releasing the genie of democracy.
The American revolution had Christian leaders, when you have non-Christian leaders you get the French Revolution or Arab Spring.
War with Iran will not turn them into a Jeffersonian democracy, or even New Jersey.
Our weapons and location have until now made it "easy" for Americans to be Christian. As it grows harder and more dangerous, the wheat will be seaparated from the chaff.
DrWho - respectfully, I don't recall EVER supporting wars in an effort to spread Democracy. Having traveled extensively through out the Middle East over the past 27 years, has given me enough insight to know that woud be to no avail.
Nor have I cited as reason for war with Iran, to turn them into a Democracy. In fact, I thought I was being rather clear that my reason for going to war with Iran is to stop them cold in their tracks from their quest to rule the world in the name of Islam. This has nothing to do with their political system. If they want Democracy in their country, then they'll need to fight for it. I don't in any way support dropping even one drop of American blood in the name of an Iranian Democracy.
Nor . . .and let me be clear :) do I support ANY of the recent official wars . . .especially with regards to the last three, Libya, Yemen and to a lesser extent Uganda. But mainly because I don't trust the Commander and Chief and I don't believe our troops do either. He's shown time and time again that he doesn't have America's best interest at heart . . .therefore, lacks the authority to lead effectively.
You say it will become more difficult to be a Christian as the world grows more dangerous. That I would agree with . . .so wouldn't it make sense to prevent a dictator, intent on world domination and a caliphate, from taking over our nation?
Those missile launch pads Iran has installed in South America, are there for a reason, and not just to decorate the Venezuelan countryside. Why sit back and wait for Iran to initiate them?
Dr Who,
Are you aware of Iran's leadership and their beliefs? Before arguments such as those above I think it would be wise to learn why they want nuclear weapons, what they believe, and what they want to do and why. The are the most dangerous enemy the free world has ever had....well, the non Muslim world for that matter.
You must understand their motivations before you can assess their danger and determination.
They believe the US is their Great satan, and Israel is the little satan. They believe their god's representative must come before their god, and that the world must be defeated and all non believers killed. Thats as in dead...men, women, and children. They believe the world must be locked in mass and bloody conflict before their god's representative, the Mud Dweller, will come to do his job.
The reason they are so dangerous is they are perfectly willing to be martyred themselves....the entire country...to start this conflict and bring it about.
Their own sure and certain destruction means nothing to them so long as they can ignite the world in conflict. And they almost have a nuclear weapons production line and the missiles to deliver them with.
That needs to be contemplated, Brother. Contemplated hard. Yup,there are times a preemptive strike is justified and, IMHO, Iran is one of those.
AND
Israel is their first target.
Israel is our friend and Israel is the apple of God's eye. We need to stand with them and protect them and that does NOT mean letting the first nuclear bomb be detonated in a country that can only stand one hit.
Caver- Yes, I am aware that they are led by "twelvers" who want to hasten the arrival of the 12th Iman or Mahdi. His ascent from a well outside of Tehran will follow an apocalyptic war and destruction of infidels. The "their Jesus" returns to claim conversion to Islam and kill anyone who does not bow to Allah.
I get that.
Have faith. God is more powerful than Iran and His timeline will not be altered by man.
An effective "first strike" would require tactical nukes on our part and I do not see how that can be supported Biblically.
Brother DrWho,
The coward in chief, most likely will not start a war with Iran, that would take a real leader to do that, which he is not. Like his fellow Chicago thugs, he would gladly let others do his dirty work just like the mafia. Precision strikes are more likely, not a ground war. The goal for Iran is not to create a “democracy”, but more over to prevent a mad man from launching nukes, or even threatening other nations with nukes especially in the ME. Should that happen, the repercussions would be horrendous, and that includes effecting our way of life in the Western world.
We are talking about a people, that ordered 500 thousand! Plastic keys from Taiwan. They gave them sadistically to children, to put around their necks telling them that these were the keys to “paradise”, then these children were directed to clear mine fields for their armies. Imanutjobinadinnerjacket, was involved during those days with the children in the mine fields, along with Ayatollah Khomeini.
Iran has attacked America, and many other countries too. Iran is one of the largest supporters of International terrorism. They have killed our fighting men and women in Iraq and Afghanistan. World dominance is the order of things, just like Hitler, should we have remained isolationist in that war too? If so, we would all be speaking German now. Do you wait until it comes to you? It already has- is killing American soldiers an act of war? Is funding international terrorism ok? This is nothing new, the same recycled evil from days gone by. Hamas Hezbollah, the so called palestinians, are right out of the Mein Kampf play book, and even use the same salutation! In fact, both Islam and the Iran, have a deep history with Nazism.
To whom much is given, much is expected. Yes indeed, compared to the Chinese Brother or Sister, who has to tear out a page from the Bible, memorize it, then eat it for fear of being arrested, Christians in the West do indeed “have it easy”. The “sifting” Brother, has already begun…
God Bless!
Well, my friend, we agree to disagree on this one.
I don't see how we can NOT do it.
Caver- I guess we will just disagree. They won't trust us with the launch codes anyway :-)
In the words of Mr."T": I pity the fool that provokes EI to a serious "handbagging"...
;-D
Sorry fer stirrin' up a hornet's nest on that one... [Not!]
DrWho, I think you're mixing apple & oranges...
I don't think anyone here has ever supported the unconstitutional, undeclared "interventions" [wars] of our current, and past IBC sock-puppets, and the deliberate by-passing of our stray, misguided, bought-off Congress critters.
"If" we had control of our gubmint, "if" we weren't already reduced to an IBC pawn, spear-heading the spread of Marxism and Islam around the world in this end time scenario, it might never had progressed beyond the proverbial 'point of no return'. - But then again, God already knew all that before He even created this universe...
With regard to "spreading democracy"... Gee, wuzn't it Woodrow Wilson who coined the phrase "We're fighting this WAR to make the world safe for democracy"...
What?!? - the most unstable, sure-fire path to dictatorship??
:-/
DrNo morphs into MrT....hmmm...Interesting......
