Everywhere adherents of the Sharia go, there is a severe threat, either through an insidious stealth jihad and creeping Sharia which prioritizes Islam over all other faiths, or from full-blown jihadists threatening infidel lives.
The illegal Turkish occupation that began in 1974 has split Cyprus by ethnicity and religion, with Greek Christian and Turkish Muslim Cypriots living on either side of a UN-patrolled border. The Republic of Cyprus controls two-thirds of the island and is internationally recognized, while Turkey’s puppet, the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, occupies the northern third, and is recognized only by Turkey.
All eyes will now be on Turkey, as the jihad terror threat linked to Iran grows in in Turkish-occupied northern Cyprus.
Cyprus is on high alert over potential terrorist threats linked to Iranians in the Turkish-occupied north, while Germany is weighing the deployment of a frigate to shield the island from Hezbollah- and Iran-related risks, Euractiv has learned.
Cyprus, which currently holds the EU Presidency, is facing spillover from the Middle East unrest after a British base on the island was recently hit by an Iranian-made drone launched by Hezbollah,while Tehran fired two missiles over the weekend that were intercepted in Israeli airspace.
A senior commander of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) also warned on Monday of intensified missile strikes on Cyprus – claiming that the United States has significantly expanded its military footprint on the island.
