The US seized another Venezuelan oil tanker on Saturday morning amid the Trump Administration’s escalation with the Maduro Regime.
The US Coast Guard Maritime Special Reaction Team (MSRT) and the US Navy seized a second Venezuelan oil tanker on Saturday morning after Trump ordered a full blockade on all sanctioned oil tankers going to and from Venezuela.
“In a pre-dawn action early this morning on Dec. 20, the US Coast Guard with the support of the Department of War apprehended an oil tanker that was last docked in Venezuela,” DHS Chief Kristi Noem said.
“The United States will continue to pursue the illicit movement of sanctioned oil that is used to fund narco terrorism in the region. We will find you, and we will stop you,” Noem said.
Last week the Trump Administration seized a Venezuelan oil tanker on the coast of Venezuela
“We’ve just seized a tanker on the coast of Venezuela. Large tanker, very large. Largest one ever seized action — and, other things are happening. So you’ll be seeing that later. And you’ll be talking about that later with some other people,” Trump said during remarks at his White House roundtable.
“It was seized for a very good reason,” Trump added.
The Trump Administration also released unclassified footage of the operation.
The unclassified video shows US service members deploying from a helicopter and fast-roping onto the oil tanker.
President Trump on Tuesday ordered a full blockade on all sanctioned oil tankers going to and from Venezuela.
