At least 7 earthquakes have battered a mountain range in Ventura County on Thursday morning, with preliminary magnitudes measured between 2.5 and 3.3, officials say.
According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the first quake had a magnitude of 2.5 and struck around 10:21 a.m. The epicenter was about 9.3 miles northwest of Fillmore, at a depth of roughly 6.2 miles.
Within the following 30 minutes, here are the earthquakes that rattled the same area, as recorded by the USGS:
- Magnitude 2.6 at 10:27 a.m. about 8 miles northwest of Fillmore, at a depth of roughly 6.5 miles
- Magnitude 3.3 at 10:27 a.m. about 9.3 miles northwest of Fillmore, at a depth of roughly 2.9 miles
- Magnitude 2.5 at 10:28 a.m. about 8 miles northwest of Fillmore, at a depth of roughly 6.3 miles
- Magnitude 2.6 at 10:29 a.m. about 8.7 miles northwest of Fillmore, at a depth of roughly 5.2 miles
- Magnitude 2.8 at 10:31 a.m. about 8 miles northwest of Fillmore, at a depth of roughly 6.4 miles
- Magnitude 2.2 at 10:59 a.m. about 8 miles northwest of Fillmore, at a depth of roughly 6 miles
There were no initial reports of any damage or injuries.
