SWEDEN: Once a utopian dream, mass Muslim immigration has turned it into a multicultural nightmare

Long considered the safest country in the world, Sweden is now plagued with nightly grenade explosions, widespread car torchings, and the second highest rape rate in the world, only behind South Africa. They blame this sharp rise in crime on “gangs” but fail to tell the public that these gangs are virtually all immigrant gangs comprised of Muslims from the Middle East and North Africa.

BBC Swedish police are dealing with unprecedented levels of bomb attacks, targeting city centre locations too. The bomb squad was called to deal with 97 explosions in the first nine months of this year. Most attacks have taken place in low-income, migrant-dominant suburbs in the biggest cities: Stockholm, Gothenburg and Malmo.

The bomb exploded shortly after 9 a.m. Friday in a blast that ripped through two apartment buildings and could be heard for miles. Twenty-five people suffered cuts and bruises and 250 apartments were damaged. A nearby kindergarten was evacuated. Hospitals jumped into disaster mode. Photos from the scene show rows of demolished balconies and shattered windows.

Malmo had three blasts in just over 24 hours at the start of this month. But more affluent places are now being targeted too. An explosion in the residential northern Stockholm suburb of Bromma last month destroyed the entrance to a block of flats, blew out windows and damaged cars.

Police say the criminals involved are part of the same gangs behind an increase in gun crime, often connected to the drugs trade. Sweden saw 45 deadly shootings in 2018, compared with 17 in 2011. But why they have added explosives to their arsenal is unclear.

Swedish police do not record or release the ethnicity of suspects or convicted criminals, but intelligence chief Linda H Straaf says many do share a similar profile – Muslims from Africa and the Middle East. “They have grown up in Sweden and they are from socio-economically weak groups, socio-economically weak areas, and many are perhaps second- or third-generation immigrants,” she says.

Deadly shootings per capita in Sweden are now considerably higher than the European average. And systematic witness intimidation, paired with a code of silence in the country’s socio-economically weak immigrant areas, has made this type of crime difficult for the Swedish legal system to tackle.

Quillette The rise in gang violence and other types of crime—including sexual offenses and a wave of robberies against children—has had far-reaching implications for Swedish society. In a country which boasts ”the world’s first feminist government,” a third of young women now report feeling unsafe going out at night.

A recent survey in the country’s three largest cities showed that safety is now the main priority for Swedes who are looking to buy homes. Crime emerged as a top priority among voters ahead of the election to the European Parliament in May.

The liberal press such as the BBC and the Guardian try to argue that there are other factors to explain the 1490% increase in rapes in Sweden which occurred as Middle Eastern/North African (MENA) immigration to Sweden grew higher than any other country in the EU per head. Immigration from MENA countries is just a coincidence; after all, all men are potential rapists, and Swedish men rape too, they claim.
