Rumors of War...

Things continue to heat up in the Middle East:

"Hizbullah: Israel preparing something"

For once, I have to agree with the terrorists - it does appear that we are just on the brink of conflict:

Israel is “preparing something” for Lebanon and Hizbullah is on high alert to prevent it, unnamed sources in the group were quoted by London-based newspaper Al-Sharq Al-Awsat as saying Saturday.

The IDF recently declassified and released high-quality intelligence of Hizbullah positions in southern Lebanon. Many interpreted the IDF's publicizing of the intelligence as an attempt both to deter Hizbullah attacks and to prepare the Israeli public for a future war should it be deemed necessary.

This next article is VERY interesting, and should be read in its entirety. Here are a few quotes:

"Israel On the Brink: Reported Secret Base Near Tabul, Saudi Arabia"

The Saudis have facilitated the construction of a secret IAF forward base, five miles outside the city of Tabuk, Saudi Arabia. The Saudis and Israelis, as usual, pretend not to know each other. The Saudis have closed Tabuk airport for civilian flights for several days as the Israeli Air Force landed jet fighter aircraft and military supplies. Civilians were not told of the purpose of the closure, but were accommodated by the Saudi government elsewhere.

The base outside Tabuk, according to unconfirmed sources, is a ‘forward’ operating base for combat assault helicopters along the ‘corridor’ that has been created for the free passage of IAF combat assets on their way into Iran… greatly reducing the distance that Israeli aircraft would have to travel to reach their targets in Iran. There can be no greater indication of the fear that Iran has caused among the middle east Arab states than that there is not one word of invective or protest against the ‘zionist occupiers’, which is an Islamic catch-word for all things Israeli.

And there is more. It looks like Israel has now launched a satellite system with "unprecedented military capabilities":

Israel’s recent additions to its defensive/offensive capability include a new secret combat satellite system launched into low earth orbit on June 24. The Israeli military would only say that the new satellite, Ofek 9, has unprecedented military capabilities. Ofek joins two other Israeli satellites presently in orbit and has Tehran in a quandary, as the resolution from the orbiting satellites is said to be less than a meter. You can run but you can’t hide, seems to be the message.

Wait - there is more. It really is looking like war is quite imminent:

The United States has several naval carrier strike forces including an anti-submarine strike group and amphibious landing ‘Expeditionary Strike Group 5, which includes elements of the United States Marine Corps 15th Expeditionary Brigade from Camp Pendleton, California, said to number some 6,000 Marines and sailors. With American, German, Israeli and Canadian Naval assets now in position and Israeli land air and sea assets at the ready, it would seem that hostilities are imminent. Combat-ready troops cannot be kept at an extreme state of alert for long periods in advance of an assault… it tends to take their edge off.

Wow. We shall see. But there are even more rumors of war (Jesus really knew what He was talking about didn't He?):

Here, we see Russia preparing for war by continuing to build up the Gog-MaGog alliance with military upgrades:

"Russia to Upgrade 200 Soviet-Era Tanks For Lybia"

Moscow, Russia: Russia will modernize about 200 T-72 main battle tanks for the Libyan Army over the next few years, a Russian defense industry source said recently.
"A 1.3-bln euro [military-technical cooperation] deal signed between Russia and Libya this year includes the modernization of about 200 T-72 tanks which have been in service with the Libyan Army since the Soviet era," the source close to negotiations told RIA Novosti.
Moscow and Tripoli have been involved in talks on the modernization of the T-72 tanks since 2006 as part of renewed efforts to revive bilateral military-technical cooperation.

The rumors of war continue. Now we turn to Israel's northern border:

"Lebanon Reinforces Army in South as Threat of New War Grows"

Lebanon is sending as many as 5,000 additional soldiers to the country’s south following clashes between civilians and United Nations troops and Israel’s warning that Hezbollah is preparing for a new war there.

The tensions came as Israel said the Shiite Muslim Hezbollah militia, considered a terrorist group by the U.S., is preparing for fighting. Hezbollah fought a monthlong war with Israel in 2006.

“The very problematic events that we witnessed and the region witnessed are only a reflection of what we have been saying for four years now, which is that southern Lebanon, despite the good work of the UN, has been hijacked by terrorism, by Hezbollah,” Daniel Carmon, Israel’s deputy ambassador to the UN, said in an interview.

The winds of war continue to blow throughout the region. Those of us who are watching these events building up know what is in store. It is all perfectly described in our prophetic scriptures as found in the Bible. God, in His infinite mercy and love, has shown us the future - so that we would - in Jesus' words "...see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen..." (Matthew 24:6).

Such things WILL happen. There is absolutely no doubt. The world is shaping up precisely as biblical prophecy dictates. There are no missing pieces. For those who are familiar with prophecy, all you can do is shake your head in awe - awe of an omniscient God.

And by contrast, those humans in positions of "leadership" world-wide, really believe that they possess the power and control over the earth - but it is only in their foolishness that they believe so. It always brings me back to Psalm 33, which is completely germane in these last days:

"Let all the earth fear the Lord;
let all the people of the world revere him.

For He spoke, and it came to be;
He commanded, and it stood firm.

The Lord foils the plans of the nations;
He thwarts the purposes of the peoples.

But the plans of the Lord stand forever.
The purposes of His heart through all generations....

From heaven the Lord looks down
and sees all mankind;
from His dwelling place He watches
all who live on earth -

He who forms the hearts of all.
who considers everything they do.

No king is saved by the size of his army;
no warrior escapes by his great strength...

But the eyes of the Lord are on those who fear Him
on those whose hope is in His unfailing love,

WE WAIT IN HOPE FOR THE LORD;
HE IS OUR HELP AND OUR SHIELD.

IN HIM OUR HEARTS REJOICE,
FOR WE TRUST IN HIS HOLY NAME

MAY YOUR UNFAILING LOVE REST UPON US O LORD,
EVEN AS WE PUT OUR HOPE IN YOU."

(Emphasis mine)

Maranatha!
Our Lord is coming, and He is coming soon. Be prepared.
