America and Genesis 12

There are a lot of pertinent news stories today; all of prophetic interest:

The news regarding the U.S. turning against Israel is the most ominous. Genesis 12 couldn't be more clear: God will bless those nations who bless Israel and He will curse those who curse Israel. I believe we are already too far down that road to turn back; at least during the Obama administration. I also believe it is possible that the Gulf oil crisis could be part of the Genesis 12 scenario.

These three articles reveal just how far the U.S. is headed down the road of joining the worldwide anti-Israeli coalition:

"Backstabbing 101"

Last week in response to a story by The Weekly Standard's William Kristol, the Obama administration denied it was busy stabbing Israel in the back on the issue of how to investigate the Turkish-backed campaign to break the Gaza naval blockade.

On Tuesday, however, Riyad Mansour, the Palestinian representative to the United Nations, and a spokesman for UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, suggested the backstabbing was indeed in high gear.

Mansour was speaking at a press stakeout at U.N. headquarters outside a Security Council session on the situation in the Middle East. He was asked about U.S. approval of a U.N.-sponsored investigation in light of Israel having launched its own investigation on Monday.

By supporting the Security Council statement in unprecedented haste with few facts, and by now refusing to indicate that the Israeli investigation satisfies the Council’s demand, the Obama administration is encouraging the U.N.-driven assault.

At the same time, the U.N. Secretary-General jumped in with his own idea for an international commission of inquiry headed by a person of his choosing.
Although Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu rightly rejected the idea as a gross interference in Israeli sovereignty, evidently President Obama has refused to insist that Ban Ki-moon take it off the table.
Instead, despite Israel’s investigation and its international participants, none of the U.N. players have backed off – and neither has the Obama administration. Backstabbing 101.

"Sources: Obama Administration to Support Anti-Israeli Resolution at UN Next week"

THE WEEKLY STANDARD has learned that senior Obama administration officials have been telling foreign governments that the administration intends to support an effort next week at the United Nations to set up an independent commission, under UN auspices, to investigate Israel's behavior in the Gaza flotilla incident.

The White House has apparently shrugged off concerns from elsewhere in the U.S. government that a) this is an extraordinary singling out of Israel, since all kinds of much worse incidents happen around the world without spurring UN investigations; b) that the investigation will be one-sided, focusing entirely on Israeli behavior and not on Turkey or on Hamas; and c) that this sets a terrible precedent for outside investigations of incidents involving U.S. troops or intelligence operatives as we conduct our own war on terror.

And if this wasn't enough - we see the following story which details another huge infusion of money - sent directly to Hamas - with no oversight. That should buy a lot of missiles which will be used to attempt to kill Israeli citizens:

"Charity begins at home"

President Obama has announced that he intends to give $400 million more to the Palestinian Authority and Hamas terrorists in the Gaza Strip without conditions, or oversight.

This is in addition to $900 million America pledged for Gaza and the PA in March, 2009.

President Obama said: "...the United States -- which is already the biggest humanitarian aid donor in Gaza -- is going to be announcing an additional $400 million in assistance for housing, school construction, business development -- not only in Gaza, but also in the West Bank ... the status quo with respect to Gaza [is] unsustainable, the status quo with respect to the Middle East is unsustainable. It is time for us to go ahead and move forward on a two-state solution..."

Yet, Israeli soldier, Gilad Shalit, has been held in Gaza for four years without even minimal human rights, even a visit from the Red Cross. And Hamas terrorists, who are in control of Gaza, continue to attack Israel.

The entire Gazan economic and social infrastructure is controlled by Hamas, including schools and the media. In collusion with UNRWA, which operates eight "refugee camps" (in fact, towns) and services a million and a half people, Hamas controls every aspect of daily life.

If their elected representatives bombard Israeli communities with rockets, prompting an Israeli incursion, why should American taxpayers bail them out? If money, equipment and supplies are siphoned off to build smuggling tunnels and bombs, who is to blame?

The entire Gazan economic and social infrastructure is controlled by Hamas, including schools and the media. In collusion with UNRWA, which operates eight "refugee camps" (in fact, towns) and services a million and a half people, Hamas controls every aspect of daily life.

"Humanitarian aid" used to improve daily life and encourage self-sufficiency can be justified; but using the money to buy weapons and dig smuggling tunnels cannot. Without some way of verifying how the money will be spent, these funds will be used to build Hamastan.

For American workers standing in unemployment lines, with aching feet and broken hearts, threatened with foreclosures and not enough money to support their families, they might ask who deserves their gifts.

Under the Obama administration, not only has the U.S. turned their backs on Israel, but the U.S. is now engaged in activities which directly harm Israel. In fact, the U.S. is now engaged in actions that threaten Israel's viability as a nation.

Lets recall what God said about this:

"I will make you into a great nation and I will bless you;

I will make your name great and you will be a blessing.

I will bless those who bless you and whoever curses you I will curse..."

(Genesis 12:2-3)

Note that the comment from God Himself offers no "qualifiers" that could be comforting now. Qualifiers such as "except the U.S." or "except those countries who had, at one time, supported Israel but no longer support Israel"...or "except those countries who have a large contingency who support Israel"....No, there were no qualifiers. It is an absolute statement from God.

The U.S. is actively harming Israel now - aka "cursing" Israel. There is no doubt about this.

Author David Stein has written at least two books which detail the fate of various countries (including the U.S.) who have taken direct actions against Israel - actions that threaten Israel's existence. One of these books "Israel, God and America" is particularly "interesting" and full of factual information regarding specific actions which have been taken against Israel and immediate consequences that those actions produced. It is very ominous.

God doesn't issue threats for fun, or "casually". He means exactly what He says. And when He states that He will curse nations who curse Israel - He means it. America is now in the bulls-eye. I don't need to list the various catastrophes ("crises") that the U.S. has faced over the past 18 months, all the while taking direct actions intended to harm Israel. And it is only getting worse.

"The Economic Collapse" is a very very scary article, particularly in light of Genesis 12, and it is also very real and very much in progress.

It is time for deep prayer. The only question I have - is how much worse will things get before the gathering up of the Church.

Jack Kelley has written a great article posted on Rapture Alert entitled Competing for the King of the North - Turkey and Iran.

Also I would like to hear thoughts on several headlines about the "sun heating up." Is this 2 Peter?

Thanks for your hard work. I look forward every day to reading your blog.

Considering that both the US and England have more or less turned their backs on Israel, and considering the environmental and economic impact of the Gulf oil spill on the US, and the economic impact of the spill on England (BP of course is a widely held British company), your query whether the oil spill might be a manifestation of God's curse is an intriguing one.

I trust that those of us who are believers know to pray for the peace and safety of Israel every day, and also to seek how each of us individually as "grafted branches" can be a blessing to Israel. If for no other reason, than to be sure we are in the same position as Lot, who, you may recall, the angels told they could not do anything against Sodom until he (Lot) got out of the doomed city.

Amen, Glenn. I agree.
