Today Gaza saw day two of protests against rule by Hamas in the strip, with hundreds of protesters shouting slogans against the power of the movement controlling the Palestinians.
It is hard to know the origin, and or agenda, of the protests, as there are many interested parties who would benefit from instigating the scene. For now, the world is taking the demonstrations at face value.
Hundreds of Palestinians protested against Hamas rule and against the war in at least three locations in Gaza on Tuesday, in a relatively rare occurrence in the Strip due to the terror group’s often violent suppression of political dissent, reported Times of Israel.
Footage showed around 100 residents of Beit Lahia, in the northern Gaza Strip, holding a protest calling for an end to the war and an end to Hamas’s governance, with some demonstrators carrying signs reading “Stop war” and “Children in Palestine want to live.”
Additionally, a few video clips captured residents chanting “Hamas out,” “Hamas terrorists,” “The people want to overthrow Hamas” and “Yes to peace, no to the ongoing war.”
The Israeli government continues the ground and air war against Hamas, with U.S. support, as Hamas refuses to released further hostages.
“The fighting in Gaza continues. The more Hamas persists in its refusal to release our hostages, the more powerful the pressure we will exert will be. And I say to Hamas – this includes seizing territory, and this includes other things that I will not detail here.”
