US Central Command (CENTCOM) on Sunday announced the arrival of an Ohio-class submarine to the Middle East.
Ohio-class submarines are nuclear-powered submarines which are capable of carrying cruise missiles and conducting special operations. They are designed for extended strategic deterrent patrols.
Since October 7, when Hamas launched its murderous attack on Israel, the US military has bolstered its presence in the Middle East.
In mid-October, the Pentagon ordered the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower aircraft carrier strike group to the eastern Mediterranean near Israel to deter Iran or Hezbollah from joining the Israel-Hamas conflict.
The USS Eisenhower joined the USS Gerald R Ford carrier strike group that arrived there days after the start of the war and is in international waters off of Israel.

About time
One more toy boat in the area is not going to change the minds of fanatics. Especially when the leadership controlling those toy boats have proven to be inept. Announcing is the first clue of being inept. Tactically it is best to not allow your enemy to estimate your strength by announcing your capabilities and also positioning your assets in close proximity when that particular asset’s strength is stealth and being able to reach out from a significant distance. Stupid.
