The Israeli military (IDF) announced that it had carried out raids against a number of Hezbollah positions in southern Lebanon in response to rocket attacks against northern Israel.
The sites included Hezbollah infrastructure, weapons storage complexes and a command center, the IDF said.
Israeli forces added later today that they had hit a Hezbollah rocket launch site in southern Lebanon, as well as a militant of the group who fired missiles into Israel.
Throughout the day, Hezbollah operatives fired rockets into northern Israel, mostly targeting military bases next to the border.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is warning Hezbollah amid escalating tensions in the north, saying it is "playing with fire".
"There are those who believe they can expand their attacks against our troops and against civilians ," Netanyahu said, without specifically mentioning Hezbollah.
“Fire will be met with much stronger fire. We must not be tested, for we have shown only a small part of our power. We will harm those who harm us."
The prime minister made the remark during a visit to the IDF's 585 Reconnaissance Battalion, praising the unit's actions during and after the October 7 Hamas attack.
"We will restore security in the north and south...Hamas will be eliminated."
