Middle East UPDATE:
Keir Starmer will reportedly recognise a Palestinian state over the weekend after Donald Trump concludes his state visit to the UK, reported The Guardian.
The prime minister has previously said he plans to recognise Palestinian statehood before the UN general assembly in New York this month if Israel does not meet a series of conditions to improve the humanitarian situation in Gaza.
Ten countries, including France, will recognize a Palestinian state at the conference on Monday in New York, reported AFP.
The Trump administration is seeking congressional approval for nearly $6B in US-funded arms sales to Israel, including 30 Apache helicopters ($3.8B) and 3,250 infantry vehicles ($1.9B), reported WSJ. The weapons would be delivered in 2–3 years and paid for with US military aid.

The Israeli army estimates that “around 480,000” Palestinians have fled Gaza City, reported The Clash Report.
The Trump administration continues to push for release of the hostages and is giving Israel a green light on the Gaza war.
