Pakistan has shot down 6 Indian jets, destroyed brigade HQ

Pakistan has shot down 6 Indian jets, destroyed brigade HQ: Asif

Pakistan has reportedly shot down six Indian Air Force fighter jets and destroyed the headquarters of the Indian Army's 12th Infantry Brigade, which operates under the 9th Division of the 15th Corps, according to high-level security sources and senior officials.

The Pakistani military claims the enemy aircraft, including three Rafale jets, one MiG-29, and one SU-30, were intercepted and destroyed as they attempted to strike Pakistani territory using stand-off munitions from Indian airspace. Additionally, a Heron surveillance drone was also downed in the operation.

Defence Minister Khawaja Asif, in an exclusive conversation with British news agency Reuters, confirmed the shoot-downs following retaliatory operations along the Line of Control (LoC). “Pakistan has acted in self-defence. Our armed forces are responding decisively to Indian aggression. They will still repay the debt,” said Khawaja Asif, sending a strong message to New Delhi.

Sources further confirmed that Pakistan has destroyed the headquarters of India’s 12th Infantry Brigade, a key tactical formation of the Indian Army involved in forward operations near the LoC.

“Our forces are giving a befitting reply to the enemy’s naked aggression. Several enemy posts have also been neutralized along the LoC,” said ISPR DG Maj Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry in remarks to Reuters.

Cross-LoC fire continues

According to ISPR, exchange of fire is ongoing at multiple locations along the Line of Control. Pakistani troops are reported to be retaliating vigorously, causing significant losses of personnel and equipment on the Indian side.

Pakistani security sources have also confirmed that the Pakistan Army has destroyed India's Gafdar post.

According to reports, the Indian Army launched unprovoked attacks in the Jura-Athmuqam and Bidanial sectors of the Neelum Valley using mortar fire late on Tuesday night. In response, the Pakistan Army retaliated forcefully from the Dudhniyal and Jura sectors, destroying several Indian forward posts.

Despite intense shelling, the deputy commissioner of Neelum Valley confirmed that no loss of life or property has occurred so far due to the Indian bombardment in Jura, Chalhana, and Nauseri sectors. However, an emergency has been imposed at the District Headquarters Hospital ADS Jhimbar as a precautionary measure.
