NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg is convening an emergency NATO-Ukraine Council at the request of Kiev, a representative of the North Atlantic Alliance announced today.

"The meeting will be held at the level of ambassadors," said NATO representative Farah Dakhlala . "Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov is expected to brief allies, via video link, on the situation on the battlefield and priorities in terms of equipment needs," he added.

The NATO-Ukraine Council was established last year, with the aim of better coordination between the alliance and Kiev. Council meetings are usually attended by ambassadors from NATO member states and Ukrainian officials.

The NATO spokeswoman points out ahead of the meeting that it was preceded by a "barrage of heavy attacks by Russia against civilians and infrastructure of Ukraine".

"NATO allies have provided substantial support to Ukraine's air defenses and are committed to further strengthening Ukraine's defense capabilities," he added.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has asked for help from the air forces of his European neighbors to destroy the waves of Russian missiles and drones that hit his country en masse earlier this week.

"In the various regions of Ukraine, we could do much more to protect lives if the air force of our European neighbors worked together with our F-16 (pursuit) and air defenses ," he argued, demanding "solutions."

48 hours of unprecedented escalation in Russian missile strikes and drone operations was the precedent.

Record Russian attacks in 148 regions of Ukraine: "We haven't seen anything yet"

The Russian Ministry of Defense announced that a total of 148 different regions of Ukraine were bombed in one of Moscow's most massive attacks since 2022.

In addition to facilities with Western weapons, energy production plants and buildings where foreign fighters were housed were also targeted.

Russia continues to call NATO military personnel who are informally stationed by the thousands throughout Ukraine coordinating the Ukrainian E.D. as "foreign mercenaries". both at the rear and at the front.

There are reports of another F-16 fighter crash, one of the first to be delivered to the Ukrainians. It didn't even manage to take off and reportedly crashed in the hangar it was in.

In the long-range two-day attack, various types of missiles were used as well as many kamikaze drones.

The Russians dropped Iskander, Kinzhal, Kalibr, Kh-101 and Kh-555 missiles among others.

At the same time, isolated fighting continues in the Kursk plains, near the border with Ukraine, where more than 12,000 Ukrainians invaded on August 6.

Officially, the Russian Ministry of Defense provides information on over 6 thousand dead Ukrainian and foreign military personnel.

Many in Russia, including OPEN's correspondent in Moscow, Thanasis Avgerinos, recalled from their memory the following statement that Putin had made at an unsuspecting time about the war:

"We haven't seen anything yet."

A location where the "foreign trainers" of the Ukrainian E.D. lived. was struck in Krivoy Rog, Ukraine.

The Aurora Hotel building was heavily damaged. Ukrainian authorities confirmed the strike and said "the news is bad".

As you can see in the footage, literally half the building was demolished.

There are reportedly no "civilians injured" as the strike was "surgical" and joins Russia's bombardment for the second day in a row on Ukrainian territory.

Many Ukrainian hotels serve as a base for the temporary or permanent deployment of foreign fighters and NATO officers:

❗ Russia hit a hotel where foreign instructors were stationed in Krivoy Rog According to Sergei Lebedev, coordinator of the pro-Russian resistance in Nikolaev, 15 English-speaking instructors had to be evacuated by military medics

War is "returning" to Russia, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky says in a speech broadcast to mark the 33rd anniversary of Ukraine's independence from the Soviet Union, in which he notes that Moscow attacking his country in 2022 "will learn what retaliation means."

Russia wanted to "destroy us", but the war "returned to it", Zelensky emphasizes in this video of his speech on Ukraine's Independence Day, which he says was filmed while he was in the border area from which Kiev launched its surprise cross-border attack on Russia.

The Ukrainian president clarified in his speech that this video was taken in a deserted forest area of the Sumy region, which he had visited earlier this week, noting that it was located "a few kilometers" from where Ukrainian forces fired their attack.

Kiev is "surprised once again", adds the Ukrainian president, promising that Russia "will learn what retaliation means".

With its invasion in February 2022, “Russia sought only one thing: to destroy us. Instead, today we celebrate the 33rd anniversary of Ukraine's Independence Day ," he continues.

British naval intelligence participated in the attack in the Kursk region, while the special service MI-7 conducted a propaganda campaign in the West.

This is what Adalbi Shchagoshev, a member of the Security Committee of the State Duma, said at a press conference!

As he pointed out:

“Western intelligence services were involved in the coordination of the attack in the Kursk region... We investigated the background of this attack...

I can say with certainty that there was also coordination of information.

In addition to MI-6, the British intelligence agency, which participated in the preparation and support of this attack, there is also an organization called MI-7 also participated in the attack in Russia.

The Russian Ministry of Defense announced at noon on Monday that energy facilities throughout Ukraine were affected.

Among the targets hit was a large hydroelectric plant north of Kiev!

Despite the fact that Russian missiles of limited power caused serious damage to the facilities of the power plant, yet the Russians deliberately did not hit the dam on the Dnieper!

The reason is very simple:

A total failure of the dam would submerge much of the Ukrainian capital under tons of water.

Monday's attacks were the definition of a surgical strike as can be seen from the leaked videos:
