Multiple Earthquakes Shake Kentucky & Tennessee, Not Far from New Madrid Seismic Zone

Dozens of people used the USGS website’s “Did you feel it?” reporting tool to report shaking they felt from earthquakes that rattled Kentucky and Tennessee last night. The epicenter of the three earthquakes wasn’t far from the center of the New Madrid Seismic Zone, or NMSZ for short.

The first earthquake struck near Ridgely, Tennessee at 8:49 pm last night. At a depth of 6.6 km, the magnitude 2.6 earthquake was too weak to create any damage or injuries.

The second earthquake was substantially stronger than the first, but was also generally weak in the scheme of things and also caused no damage nor injuries. That magnitude 3.0 event struck near Calhoun, Kentucky at 9:45 pm from a depth of 6 km.

The third earthquake happened just 4 minutes after the prior one; a magnitude 2.5 quake struck in nearly the same location as the earlier Calhoun, Kentucky earthquake. This quake was very shallow though, with USGS reporting a depth of only 0.7 km.

While  last night’s earthquakes were relatively inconsequential with no  damage reports, authorities are concerned that people aren’t properly prepared for when a big earthquake will strike this region.  The matter of a larger destructive earthquake in this area is more of a matter  of “when” rather than “if.”  These earthquake in Tennessee in particular was within the New Madrid Seismic Zone, or NMSZ for short; while it and the other two quakes were far from significant, they struck in an area where a significant earthquake will happen again at some point in the future.

The NMSZ has a violent history that experts say will repeat itself, although no one is sure when it’ll happen.

December 16 marks the anniversary of the first of three major quakes to strike the United States during the winter of 1811-1812, a violent time in seismological history of the region that scientists say will be repeated again.

While the US West Coast is well known for its seismic faults and potent quakes, many aren’t aware that one of the largest quakes to strike the country actually occurred near the Mississippi River.

On December 16, 1811, at roughly 2:15am, a powerful 8.1 quake rocked northeast Arkansas in what is now known as the New Madrid Seismic Zone.  The earthquake was felt over much of the eastern United States, shaking people out of bed in places like New York City, Washington, DC, and Charleston, SC. The ground shook for an unbelievably long 1-3 minutes in areas hit hard by the quake, such as Nashville, TN and Louisville, KY. Ground movements were so violent near the epicenter that liquefaction of the ground was observed, with dirt and water thrown into the air by tens of feet.  President James Madison and his wife Dolly felt the quake in the White House while church bells rang in Boston due to the shaking there.

But the quakes didn’t end there. From December 16, 1811 through to March of 1812, there were over 2,000 earthquakes reported in the central Midwest with 6,000-10,000 earthquakes located in the “Bootheel” of Missouri where the New Madid Seismic Zone is centered.

A Coming 'Debt Jubilee'?

A Debt Jubilee of Biblical Proportions Is Coming Soon… What You Need To Know

Four thousand years ago, the rulers of ancient Babylon discovered a technique to stave off violent revolts.

In ancient times, there was a tendency for people to become hopelessly in debt to their creditors. Eventually, they would rise up and cause instability that could threaten the entire ruling system.

The rulers of the ancient world recognized this dynamic.

Their solution was to enact widespread debt cancellation—a debt jubilee.

Debt jubilees acted as a societal pressure release valve when there were no other options.

The practice spread in the ancient world and became codified in different civilizations.

For example, the Book of Leviticus recognizes debt jubilees as the end of a 49-year biblical cycle—seven cycles of seven years.

I think this ancient practice will make a big comeback soon as government, corporate, and personal debt have all reached unbearable levels today.

In fact, the debt jubilees have already started… and the investment consequences will be profound.

It’s important to note that debt jubilees do not magically create new wealth.

They simply redistribute it.

Debt jubilees are government decrees that amount to a massive wealth transfer with big winners and losers.

The PPP loan forgiveness during the Covid hysteria was the prelude.

President Biden’s student loan forgiveness took it to the next level.

The student loan forgiveness was unprecedented. Unilateral executive action of this size has never occurred during a time of peace. Moreover, Congress, not the president, is supposed to make spending decisions of this magnitude.

It is estimated that the immediate and deferred costs of the student loan forgiveness to be at least $590 billion.

Biden’s student loan debt jubilee went too far for even Obama’s former chief economic advisor, Jason Furman, who described it as:

“Pouring roughly half trillion dollars of gasoline on the inflationary fire that is already burning is reckless.”

Aside from the inflationary effects—which I’ll get to in a moment—the student loan jubilee also set a precedent that I think will be impossible to reverse.

Amid rising prices, consumer debt is skyrocketing. It is at an all-time high of over $16 trillion, as seen in the chart below.

With interest rates rising, the cost of servicing this record debt is becoming unbearable for many. As a result, many Americans have reached their maximum debt saturation and are hitting a financial breaking point.

As Biden demonstrated, all it takes is a President’s pen stroke to wipe out hundreds of billions in debt.

I think the political pressure to do this again will be irresistible—especially before elections—as a way to court voters.

The student loan jubilee set a precedent.

I don’t think it will be long before we see a credit card jubilee, a car loan jubilee, or a mortgage jubilee.

How will the government pay for all these jubilees?

It’s improbable they could raise taxes enough to pay for them.

It also wouldn’t make sense to issue more debt to cancel other debts.

That leaves money printing as the only way they can finance these jubilees. So my guess is that’s what they’ll do.

That’s why the coming debt jubilees will pour “gasoline on the inflationary fire that is already burning.”

But it’s not just consumer debt that has become unbearable. The big enchilada is the US government’s federal debt.

The US federal government has the biggest debt in the history of the world. And it’s continuing to grow at a rapid, unstoppable pace.

In short, the US government is fast approaching the financial endgame.

Here’s why…

Today, the US federal debt has gone parabolic and is scores of trillions.

The truth is, the debt will keep piling up unless Congress makes some politically impossible decisions to cut spending. But don’t count on that happening. In fact, they’re racing in the opposite direction now that they’ve normalized multitrillion-dollar deficits.

The amount of debt is so extreme that even a return of interest rates to their historical average would mean paying the interest expense on the debt would consume more than half of current tax revenues. Interest expense would eclipse Social Security and defense spending and become the largest item in the federal budget.

Kennedy Jr., chairman and founder of the Children’s Health Defense (CHD), urged the public to sign a petition against the World Health Organization’s (WHO) impending power grab via the amendment of International Health Regulations (IHR) and the intimately related Pandemic Treaty, which aims to take over the power and dominion on all matters of health over and above the sovereignty of its 194 member states.

Despite catastrophic public health failures during the Wuhan coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the WHO has been negotiating for the new rules for dealing with pandemics with a target date of May 2024 for a legally binding agreement to be adopted by the United Nation’s (UN) member countries. The new pact is a priority for WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, who called it a “generational commitment that we will not go back to the old cycle of panic and neglect.” The agency is considering 300 amendments to IHR 2005.

The WHO aims to implement changes to the IHR through confidential negotiations by the largely anonymous “Working Group on Amendments to the International Health Regulations.” The IHR changes would grant Ghebreyesus the authority to control which countermeasures the world would be allowed to utilize during a pandemic.

“Among the proposed changes are the transfer of public health emergency powers from our elected leaders to the WHO, as well as the authority to declare an emergency at will and the removal of human rights protections that have always been included in the IHR. Giving the WHO these powers will inevitably result in more emergency declarations and a reoccurrence of the many failures witnessed during the WHO’s management of COVID-19,” the CHD website said.

Peter Koenig, a geopolitical analyst and a former senior economist at the World Bank and WHO, wrote in a Global Research article that these tyrannical efforts were orchestrated by the government, Big Tech and Big Pharma and propagated by mainstream media.

Kennedy’s CHD’s campaign #TheGreatFreeset provides an opportunity to resist the centralization of power by international organizations like the WHO and the World Economic Forum’s initiative known as the “Great Reset.” It is a chance to disrupt the WHO’s ongoing plans for global consolidation of power.

“The world we will leave our children depends on us pushing back on the WHO global governance agenda. We cannot overstate the importance of resisting this ultimate consolidation of power into a few sinister hands who do not have our health and best interests at heart,” the campaign description read. The nonprofit activist group pointed out the critical issues in the IHR amendment proposal.

Under the proposal, all member countries should develop digital vaccine passports that would be used to restrict access and travel as the WHO sees fit. The proposal would allow the WHO director-general to declare an emergency at his will.

Suppression of free speech is also included in the proposal as surveillance of anything deemed as misinformation and disinformation would be required. There would be extreme lockdown measures, including the “quarantine of suspect travelers, preferably in facilities away from the point of entry,” also known as “quarantine camps” that were seen during the COVID-19 pandemic in China and elsewhere.

Moreover, nations would be required to use certain medications while prohibiting the use of others during emergencies. It would also give WHO power to commandeer medical supplies in any country; transfer them to other countries; and evade laws on intellectual property.

Most importantly, CHD emphasized that the proposal would remove the existing IHR wording granting “full respect for the dignity, human rights and fundamental freedoms of persons.” The WHO is also actively attempting to eliminate the provision “dignity, human rights and fundamental freedoms.”

The WHO is also working on the Pandemic Treaty, which is expected to be open for signatures during the 77th World Health Assembly in May 2024.

A new open letter calling for urgent regulation to mitigate 'the risk of extinction from AI' has been signed by more than 350 industry experts, including several developing the tech.

The 22-word statement to Congress reads that the step 'should be a global priority alongside other societal-scale risks such as pandemics and nuclear war.'

The short letter was signed by OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, creator of ChatGPT.

While the document does not provide details, the statement aims to convince policymakers to create plans for the event AI goes rogue, just as there are plans for pandemics and nuclear wars.

Altman was joined by other known leaders in AI, including Demis Hassabis of Google DeepMind, Dario Amodei of Anthropic and executives from Microsoft and Google.

Also among them were Geoffrey Hinton and Yoshua Bengio - two of the three so-called 'godfathers of AI' who received the 2018 Turing Award for their work on deep learning - and professors from institutions ranging from Harvard to China's Tsinghua University.

The San Francisco-based non-profit Center for AI Safety (CAIS) published the short statement, which singled out Meta, where the third godfather of AI, Yann LeCun, works, for not signing the letter.

Elon Musk and a group of AI experts and industry executives were the first to cite potential societal risks in April. 

Musk and more than 1,000 industry experts called for a pause on the 'dangerous race' to advance AI, saying more risk assessment needs to be conducted before humans lose control and it becomes a sentient human-hating species.

At this point, AI would have reached singularity, which means it has surpassed human intelligence and has independent thinking.

AI would no longer need or listen to humans, allowing it to steal nuclear codes, create pandemics and spark world wars.

DeepAI founder Kevin Baragona, who signed the letter, told DailyMail.com: 'It's almost akin to a war between chimps and humans.

The humans obviously win since we're far smarter and can leverage more advanced technology to defeat them.

A pair of U.S. Air Force B-1B Lancer bombers flew low over Sarajevo and several other Bosnian cities on Tuesday as a sign of support amid continued secessionist threats by the staunchly pro-Russia Bosnian Serb leader Milorad Dodik.

Dodik, who is the president of Bosnia’s Serb-run part, Republika Srpska, has repeatedly advocated for the breakup of the country and voiced his admiration for Russian President Vladimir Putin. Earlier this month, he travelled to Moscow to meet with Putin and reiterate his support for Moscow’s invasion of Ukraine.”

Putin has been supporting Dodik and encouraged his separist policies. The US bombers may not have been a subtle message, but at this late stage a big stick is certainly giving a clear message.
