Donbass, Kherson & Zaporozhye Referendums to Join Russia

Some 93% of people in the Zaporozhye region have voted in favor of acceding to Russia during the first day of the referendum, according to a poll, conducted by the Crimean Republican Institute of Political and Social Studies.

The third day of voting in referendums on joining Russia is taking place in the Donbass republics, and the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions.
In the LPR, voter turnout for two days was 45.86 percent, in the DPR 55.05 percent, in the Kherson region, the turnout for Friday and Saturday was 31.79 percent and in the Zaporozhye region 35.54 percent.

Overwhelming majorities of residents in the DPR, LPR and the Russian-controlled areas of Kherson and Zaporozhye plan to vote in favor of joining the Russian Federation, a poll has found.
The survey, conducted on September 23 by Russia-based market research company INSOMAR, showed that between 94 and 97 percent of residents of the Donbass republics, and between 83 and 84 percent of the inhabitants of Kherson and Zaporozhye were in favor of joining Russia

"Unfortunately, we see that the UN is asleep. Not only when it comes to Donbass but also to other countries in a similar situation. The UN has not been reacting," Vito Grittani told reporters in Donetsk.

Grittani heads the International Diplomatic Observatory (ODI-VG), which has consultative status with the UN’s Economic and Social Council. He said shelling by Ukrainian troops has been going on "despite them knowing that people are voting."

Tens of thousands of people are rallying across Russia on September 23 in support of the ongoing referendums in the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics, as well as the liberated territories of the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions.
People in the Donbass republics as well as the two regions are voting on whether to join Russia. The votes are being held on September 23-27.
Residents of Moscow are also taking part in a concert called "We Don't Abandon Our Own," which is dedicated to the people living in Donbass and the liberated areas of Ukraine.
