Words Worth Remembering

“Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going.” (John 14:1-3)

I declare to you, brothers and sisters, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable.  Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed  in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. (1 Corinthians 15:50-52)

For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. Therefore encourage one another with these words. (1 Thessalonians 4:16)

and to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead—Jesus, who rescues us from the coming wrath. (1 Thessalonians 1:10)

Since you have kept my command to endure patiently, I will also keep you from the hour of trial that is going to come on the whole world to test the inhabitants of the earth. (Revelation 3:10)

For God did not appoint us to suffer wrath but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ. 10 He died for us so that, whether we are awake or asleep, we may live together with him. 11 Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing. (1 Thessalonians 9-11)

Amen and amen. Thanks for that shot of truth and comfort, Scott. I needed that.

This morning I've been musing on Psalm 23 and Matthew Henry's commentary on it. Ps23 is so familiar to all. So familiar that we take it for granted. But there I saw myself as the ever-so wandering sheep getting stuck in some pit again and again. And my Shepherd chasing after me, embracing me, time after time. Such wonderful reminders of Whose we are and that He offers a rest, a peace that passes all understand, here, now and forever.

Oh how we ache for Him. Maranatha!!!

Hope. A precious gift from God. And who hopes for what he already has? This blessed hope is before us. Thank you for the Scripture Scott. As always , it speaks truth and hope and goodness.

So good to encourage each other in the Lord, we need to keep looking up as our salvation is drawing near, alleluia! Love and blessings to all our brothers and sisters in Christ, and thanks Scott for all your in depth research. As Jesus said watch and pray, so many things are trying to gain our attention but keep your eyes on Jesus, to him be all the glory.
